1 Und da das Gerücht Salomos von dem Namen des HERRN kam vor die Königin von Reicharabien, kam sie, ihn zu versuchen mit Rätseln.
And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to try him with hard questions.
2 Und sie kam gen Jerusalem mit einem sehr großen Zeug, mit Kamelen, die Spezerei trugen und viel Goldes und Edelgesteine. Und da sie zum Könige Salomo hineinkam, redete sie mit ihm alles, was sie vorgenommen hatte.
And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.
3 Und Salomo sagte ihr alles, und war dem Könige nichts verborgen, das er ihr nicht sagte.
And Solomon answered all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not.
4 Da aber die Königin von Reicharabien sah alle Weisheit Salomos und das Haus, das er gebauet hatte,
And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5 und die Speise für seinen Tisch und seiner Knechte Wohnung und seiner Diener Amt und ihre Kleider und seine Schenken und seine Brandopfer, die er in dem Hause des HERRN opferte, konnte sie sich nicht mehr enthalten
And the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.
6 und sprach zum Könige: Es ist wahr, was ich in meinem Lande gehöret habe von deinem Wesen und von deiner Weisheit.
And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in my own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom.
7 Und ich habe es nicht wollen glauben, bis ich kommen bin und habe es mit meinen Augen gesehen. Und siehe, es ist mir nicht die Hälfte gesagt. Du hast mehr Weisheit und Gutes denn das Gerücht, das ich gehöret habe.
However I believed not the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
8 Selig sind deine Leute und deine Knechte, die allezeit vor dir stehen und deine Weisheit hören.
Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
9 Gelobet sei der HERR, dein Gott, der zu dir Lust hat, daß er dich auf den Stuhl Israels gesetzet hat, darum daß der HERR Israel liebhat ewiglich und dich zum Könige gesetzet hat, daß du Gericht und Recht haltest.
Blessed be the LORD thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore he made thee king, to do judgment and justice.
10 Und sie gab dem Könige hundertundzwanzig Zentner Goldes und sehr viel Spezerei und Edelgesteine. Es kam nicht mehr so viel Spezerei, als die Königin von Reicharabien dem Könige Salomo gab.
And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices a very great quantity, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
11 Dazu die Schiffe Hirams, die Gold aus Ophir führeten, brachten sehr viel Ebenholz und Edelgesteine.
And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones.
12 Und der König ließ machen von Ebenholz Pfeiler im Hause des HERRN und im Hause des Königs und Harfen und Psalter für die Sänger. Es kam nicht mehr solch Ebenholz, ward auch nicht gesehen bis auf diesen Tag.
And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the king’s house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor have they been seen to this day.
13 Und der König Salomo gab der Königin von Reicharabien alles, was sie begehrete und bat, ohne was er ihr gab von ihm selbst. Und sie wandte sich und zog in ihr Land samt ihren Knechten.
And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
14 Des Goldes aber, das Salomo in einem Jahr kam, war am Gewicht sechshundertundsechsundsechzig Zentner,
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty and six talents of gold,
15 ohne was von Krämern und Kaufleuten und Apothekern und von allen Königen Arabiens und von den Gewaltigen in Ländern kam.
Besides what he had of the merchants, and of the trade of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country.
16 Und der König Salomo ließ machen zweihundert Schilde vom besten Golde; sechshundert Stück Goldes tat er zu einem Schilde;
And king Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one shield.
17 und dreihundert Tartschen vom besten Golde, je drei Pfund Goldes zu einer Tartsche. Und der König tat sie in das Haus vom Walde Libanon.
And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pounds of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
18 Und der König machte einen großen Stuhl von Elfenbein und überzog ihn mit dem edelsten Golde.
Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.
19 Und der Stuhl hatte sechs Stufen, und das Haupt am Stuhl war hinten rund. Und waren Lehnen auf beiden Seiten um das Gesäß, und zween Löwen stunden an den Lehnen.
The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were arms on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms.
20 Und zwölf Löwen stunden auf den sechs Stufen auf beiden Seiten. Solches ist nie gemacht in keinen Königreichen.
And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.
21 Alle Trinkgefäße des Königs Salomo waren gülden, und alle Gefäße im Hause vom Walde Libanon waren auch lauter Gold; denn des Silbers achtete man zu den Zeiten Salomos nichts.
And all king Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was not considered as any thing in the days of Solomon.
22 Denn das Meerschiff des Königs, das auf dem Meer mit dem Schiff Hirams fuhr, kam in dreien Jahren einmal und brachte Gold, Silber, Elfenbein, Affen und Pfauen.
For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
23 Also ward der König Salomo größer mit Reichtum und Weisheit denn alle Könige auf Erden.
So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.
24 Und alle Welt begehrete, Salomo zu sehen, daß sie die Weisheit höreten, die ihm Gott in sein Herz gegeben hatte.
And all the earth consulted Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
25 Und jedermann brachte ihm Geschenke, silberne und güldene Geräte, Kleider und Harnische, Würze, Rosse, Mäuler jährlich.
And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
26 Und Salomo brachte zuhauf Wagen und Reiter, daß er hatte tausend und vierhundert Wagen und zwölftausend Reiter, und ließ sie in den Wagenstädten und bei dem Könige zu Jerusalem.
And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
27 Und der König machte, daß des Silbers zu Jerusalem so viel war wie die Steine, und Zedernholz so viel wie die wilden Feigenbäume in den Gründen.
And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars he made to be as the sycamore trees that are in the vale, for abundance.
28 Und man brachte dem Salomo Pferde aus Ägypten und allerlei Ware, und die Kaufleute des Königs kauften dieselbige Ware
And Solomon had horses brought from Egypt, and linen yarn: the king’s merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
29 und brachten's aus Ägypten heraus, je einen Wagen um sechshundert Silberlinge, und ein Pferd um hundertundfünfzig. Also brachte man sie auch allen Königen der Hethiter und den Königen zu Syrien durch ihre Hand.
And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
