Psalm 19

1 Dem Musikmeister. Ein Psalm Davids. Die Himmel erzählen die Herrlichkeit Gottes, und die Veste verkündigt das Werk seiner Hände.

To victorie, the salm of Dauid. Heuenes tellen out the glorie of God; and the firmament tellith the werkis of hise hondis.

2 Ein Tag strömt dem andern die Botschaft zu, und eine Nacht giebt der andern Kunde -

The dai tellith out to the dai a word; and the nyyt schewith kunnyng to the nyyt.

3 nicht eine Botschaft und nicht Worte, deren Schall unhörbar wäre!

No langagis ben, nether wordis; of whiche the voices of hem ben not herd.

4 In alle Lande geht ihre Meßschnur aus, und ihre Worte bis ans Ende des Erdkreises. Dem Sonnenball hat er ein Zelt an ihnen bereitet.

The soun of hem yede out in to al erthe; and the wordis of hem `yeden out in to the endis of the world.

5 Und der gleicht einem Bräutigam, der aus seiner Kammer hervortritt, freut sich wie ein Held, die Bahn zu durchlaufen.

In the sunne he hath set his tabernacle; and he as a spouse comynge forth of his chaumbre. He fulli ioyede, as a giaunt, to renne his weie;

6 Von dem einen Ende des Himmels geht er ausund läuft um bis zu seinem anderen Ende, und nichts bleibt vor seiner Glut geborgen.

his goynge out was fro hiyeste heuene. And his goyng ayen was to the hiyeste therof; and noon is that hidith hym silf fro his heet.

7 Das Gesetz Jahwes ist vollkommen, erquickt die Seele; das Zeugnis Jahwes ist zuverlässig, macht den Einfältigen weise.

The lawe of the Lord is with out wem, and conuertith soulis; the witnessyng of the Lord is feithful, and yyueth wisdom to litle children.

8 Die Befehle Jahwes sind recht, erfreuen das Herz; das Gebot Jahwes ist rein, erleuchtet die Augen.

The riytfulnessis of the Lord ben riytful, gladdynge hertis; the comaundement of the Lord is cleere, liytnynge iyen.

9 Der Dienst Jahwes ist rein, besteht für immer; die Satzungen Jahwes sind Wahrheit, sind rechtschaffen insgesamt.

The hooli drede of the Lord dwellith in to world of world; the domes of the Lord ben trewe, iustified in to hem silf.

10 Sie sind begehrenswerter als Gold und vieles Feingoldund süßer als Honig und der Seim der Waben.

Desirable more than gold, and a stoon myche preciouse; and swettere than hony and honycoomb.

11 Auch wird dein Diener durch sie vermahnt; sie beobachten bringt großen Lohn!

`Forwhi thi seruaunt kepith thoo; myche yeldyng is in tho to be kept.

12 Verirrungen - wer wird sich aller bewußt? Von den verborgenen sprich mich los!

Who vndurstondith trespassis? make thou me cleene fro my priuy synnes;

13 Dazu bewahre deinen Diener vor Übermütigen: laß sie nicht über mich herrschen! Dann werde ich unsträflich sein und rein dastehen von großer Verschuldung.

and of alien synnes spare thi seruaunt. `If the forseid defautis ben not, Lord, of me, than Y schal be with out wem; and Y schal be clensid of the mooste synne.

14 Möchten die Worte meines Mundes und das Sinnen meines Herzens vor dir wohlgefällig sein, Jahwe, mein Fels und mein Erlöser!

And the spechis of my mouth schulen be, that tho plese; and the thenkynge of myn herte euere in thi siyt. Lord, myn helpere; and myn ayenbiere.
