2 Mose 16
1 Sodann brachen sie von Elim auf, und es gelangte die ganze Gemeinde der Israeliten in die Wüste Sin, die zwischen Elim und dem Sinai liegt, am fünfzehnten Tage des zweiten Monats nach ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten.
And thei yeden forth fro Helym, and al the multitude of the sones of Israel cam in to deseert of Syn, which is bitwixe Helym and Synai, in the fiftenethe dai of the secunde monethe aftir that thei yeden out of the lond of Egipt.
2 Da murrte die ganze Gemeinde der Israeliten gegen Mose und Aaron in der Wüste.
And al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel grutchide ayens Moises, and ayens Aaron, in the wildirnesse.
3 Und die Israeliten sprachen zu ihnen: O wären wir doch lieber durch die Hand Jahwes in Ägypten gestorben, wo wir bei unseren Fleischtöpfen saßen und uns am Brot satt essen konnten; statt dessen habt ihr uns in diese Wüste geführt, um diese ganze Gemeinde dem Hungertode preiszugeben.
And the sones of Israel seiden to hem, We wolden that we hadden be deed bi the `hoond of the Lord in the lond of Egipt, whanne we saten on the `pottis of fleisch, and eeten looues in plentee; whi leden ye vs in to this deseert, that ye schulden sle al the multitude with hungur?
4 Da sprach Jahwe zu Mose: Wohlan! ich will euch Brot vom Himmel fallen lassen wie Regen; so sollen dann die Leute hingehen und jeden Tag ihren täglichen Bedarf einsammeln. Damit will ich sie prüfen, ob sie nach meinen Lehren wandeln wollen oder nicht.
Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Lo! Y schal reyne to you looues fro heuene; the puple go out, that it gadere tho thingis that sufficen bi ech day; that Y asaie the puple, whethir it goith in my lawe, ether nai.
5 Wenn sie dann aber am sechsten Tage zubereiten, was sie heimbringen, so wird es doppelt so viel sein, als was sie sonst alltäglich einsammeln.
Sotheli in the sixte dai make thei redi that that thei schulen bere yn, and be it double ouer that thei weren wont to gadere bi ech dai.
6 Da sprachen Mose und Aaron zu allen Israeliten: Am Abend werdet ihr einsehen, daß Jahwe euch aus Ägypten weggeführt hat.
And Moises and Aaron seiden to alle the sones of Israel, At euentid ye schulen wite that the Lord ledde you out of the lond of Egipt;
7 Morgen früh aber werdet ihr Jahwes Majestät zu sehen bekommen; denn er hat euer Murren wider Jahwe gehört. Was sind aber wir, daß ihr wider uns murrt?
and in the morewetid ye schulen se the glorie of the Lord; for Y herde youre grutchyng ayens the Lord; sotheli what ben we, for ye grutchen ayens us?
8 Da sprach Mose: Dadurch, daß euch Jahwe abends Fleisch zu essen geben wird und reichliches Brot am Morgen; dadurch, daß Jahwe euer Murren erhört, das ihr gegen ihn richtet - denn was sind wir? Euer Murren richtet sich nicht gegen uns, sondern gegen Jahwe!
And Moises seide, The Lord schal yyue to you at euentid fleischis to ete, and looues in the morewetid in plentee, for he herde youre grutchyngis, bi which ye grutchiden ayens hym; for whi, what ben we? youre grutchyng is not ayens vs but ayens the Lord.
9 Hierauf sprach Mose zu Aaron: Befiehl der ganzen Gemeinde der Israeliten: Tretet heran vor Jahwe; denn er hat euer Murren vernommen.
And Moises seide to Aaron, Seie thou to al the congregacioun of the sones of Israel, Neiye ye bifore the Lord, for he herde youre grutchyng.
10 Als nun Aaron der ganzen Gemeinde der Israeliten dies befohlen hatte, schauten sie gegen die Wüste hin; da erschien plötzlich Jahwes Herrlichkeit in der Wolke.
And whanne Aaron spak to al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel, thei bihelden to the wildirnesse, and lo! the glorie of the Lord apperide in a cloude.
11 Und Jahwe sprach folgendermaßen zu Mose:
Forsothe the Lord spak to Moises,
12 Ich habe das Murren der Israeliten vernommen; sprich zu ihnen also: Heute abend werdet ihr Fleisch zu essen bekommen und morgen früh sollt ihr euch an Brot satt essen, und ihr sollt erkennen, daß ich Jahwe, euer Gott, bin!
and seide, Y herde the grutchyngis of the sones of Israel; spek thou to hem, At euentid ye schulen ete fleischis, and in the morewtid ye schulen be fillid with looues, and ye schulen wite that Y am `youre Lord God.
13 Als es nun Abend wurde, zog ein Wachtelschwarm heran und fiel überall im Lager nieder. Am folgenden Morgen aber legte sich ein starker Tau rings um das Lager.
Therfor euentid was maad, and `curlewes stieden and hiliden the castels; and in the morewtid deew cam bi the face of the castels.
14 Und als der Tauniederschlag verschwand, da lag auf dem Boden der Wüste etwas Feines, Körniges, so fein, wie kleine Reiskörner, auf dem Boden.
And whanne it hadde hilid the erthe, a litil thing, and as powned with a pestel, in the licnesse of an hoorfrost on erthe, apperide in the wildirnesse.
15 Als dies die Israeliten sahen, fragten sie einander: Was ist das? denn sie wußten nicht, was es war. Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Das ist das Brot, das euch Jahwe als Nahrungsmittel schenkt.
And whanne the sones of Israel hadden seyn that, thei seiden to gidere, Man hu? which signyfieth, what is this? for thei wisten not what it was. To whiche Moises seide, This is the breed, which the Lord hath youe to you to ete.
16 Folgendes hat Jahwe geboten: Sammelt davon ein, jeder nach seinem Bedürfnis und zwar einen Gomer auf den Kopf; je nach der Seelenzahl in eines jeglichen Zelt sollt ihr euch nehmen.
This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Ech man gadere therof as myche as suffisith to be etun, gomor bi ech heed, bi the noumbre of youre soulis that dwellen in the tabernacle, so ye schulen take.
17 Da thaten die Israeliten so und sammelten ein, der eine viel, der andere weniger.
And the sones of Israel diden so, and thei gaderiden oon more, another lesse;
18 Als sie es aber mit dem Gomer maßen, hatte der, der viel genommen, nicht zu viel, und der, der weniger genommen, nicht zu wenig gesammelt, sondern jeder hatte nach seinem Bedürfnis gesammelt.
and thei metiden at the mesure gomor; nethir he that gaderide more had more, nethir he that made redi lesse fond lesse, but alle gaderiden bi that that thei myyten ete.
19 Hierauf befahl ihnen Mose: Niemand soll etwas davon für den folgenden Tag aufheben.
And Moises seide to hem, Noon leeue therof in to the morewtid; whiche herden not him,
20 Aber sie gehorchten Mose nicht, und einige hoben etwas davon für den folgenden Tag auf. Da wurde es voll Würmer und verdarb; Mose aber wurde zornig auf sie.
but summe of hem leften til to the morewtid, and it bigan to buyle with wormes, and it was rotun; and Moises was wrooth ayens hem.
21 Und sie sammelten es jeden Morgen früh ein, jeder nach seinem Bedürfnis. Wenn aber die Sonne heiß schien, zerschmolz es.
Forsothe alle gaderiden in the morewtid as myche as `miyte suffice to be eten; and whanne the sunne was hoot, it was moltun.
22 Am sechsten Tag aber hatten sie doppelt so viel Speise gesammelt, je zwei Gomer auf die Person. Da gingen alle Vorstände der Gemeinde hin, um es Mose zu berichten.
Sotheli in the sixte dai thei gaderiden double metis, that is, `twei gomor by ech man. Forsothe alle the princis of the multitude camen, and telden to Moises, which seide to hem,
23 Er jedoch sprach zu ihnen: Das geschieht, weil Jahwe gebietet: Morgen soll Ruhetag, ein Jahwe geweihter Sabbat sein. Was ihr backen wollt, das backt, und was ihr kochen wollt, das kocht; alles aber, was übrig bleibt, thut auf die Seite, um es für morgen aufzubewahren.
This it is that the Lord spak, The reste of the sabot is halewid to the Lord, do ye what euer thing schal be wrouyt to morewe, and sethe ye tho thingis that schulen be sodun; sotheli what euer thing is residue, kepe ye til in to the morewe.
24 Da hoben sie es nach Moses Gebot bis zum folgenden Tag auf; und es verdarb nicht und bekam auch keine Würmer.
And thei diden so as Moises comaundide, and it was not rotun, nether a worm was foundun ther ynne.
25 Hierauf befahl Mose: Nährt euch heute davon! denn heute ist Sabbat Jahwes; heute werde ihr draußen nichts finden.
And Moises seide, Ete ye that in this dai, for it is the sabat of the Lord, it schal not be foundun to dai in the feeld; gadere ye in sixe daies,
26 Sechs Tage hindurch sollt ihr davon einsammeln; aber am siebenten Tag, am Sabbat, wird es keines geben.
forsothe the sabat of the Lord is in the seuenthe dai, therfor it schal not be foundun.
27 Am siebenten Tage jedoch gingen etliche Leute hinaus, um einzusammeln; aber sie fanden nichts.
The seuenthe dai cam, and summe of the puple yeden out `to gadire, and thei founden not.
28 Da sprach Jahwe zu Mose: Wie lange wollt ihr euch weigern, meine Befehle und Lehren zu beobachten?
Forsothe the Lord seide to Moises, Hou long `nylen ye kepe my comaundementis, and my lawe?
29 Seht doch! Jahwe giebt euch den Sabbat, daher spendet er euch am sechsten Tage Nahrung auf zwei Tage, bleibt ruhig zu Hause; niemand soll am siebenten Tage seine Behausung verlassen.
Se ye that the Lord yaf to you the sabat, and for this he yaf to you in the sixte dai double meetis; ech man dwelle at him silf, noon go out of his place in the seuenthe dai.
30 So feierte das Volk am siebenten Tage.
And the puple kepte sabat in the seuenthe dai.
31 Die Israeliten aber nannten es Man. Es war weiß wie Korianderkörner und hatte einen Geschmack wie Kuchen mit Honig.
And the hous of Israel clepide the name therof man, which was whijt as the seed of coriandre, and the taast therof was as of flour with hony.
32 Hierauf sprach Mose: Folgendes befiehlt Jahwe: Ein ganzer Gomer davon soll aufbewahrt werden von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht, damit sie die Speise sehen, womit ich euch in der Wüste genährt habe, als ich euch aus Ägypten wegführte.
Forsothe Moises seide, This is the word which the Lord comaundide, Fille thou a gomor therof, and be it kept in to generaciouns to comynge aftirward, that thei knowe the breed bi which Y fedde you in the wildirnesse, whanne ye weren led out of the lond of Egipt.
33 Da sprach Mose zu Aaron: Nimm einen Krug, thue einen ganzen Gomer voll Manna hinein und stelle ihn hin vor Jahwe, daß er aufbewahrt werde von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht,
And Moises seide to Aaron, Take thou o vessel, and putte therinne man, as myche as gomor mai take, and putte bifore the Lord, to be kept in to youre generaciouns,
34 wie Jahwe Mose geboten hatte. Und Aaron stellte es nieder vor der Lade mit dem Gesetz zur Aufbewahrung.
as the Lord comaundide to Moises; and Aaron puttide that to be kept in the tabernacle.
35 Die Israeliten aber aßen Manna vierzig Jahre hindurch, bis sie in bewohntes Land gelangten; Manna aßen sie, bis sie an die Grenze des Landes Kanaan gelangten.
Forsothe the sones of Israel eeten manna in fourti yeer, til thei camen in to the lond abitable; thei weren fed with this mete til thei touchiden the endis of the lond of Canaan.
36 Ein Gomer aber ist der zehnte Teil eines Epha.
Forsothe gomor is the tenthe part of efy.
