1 Samuel 12
1 Und Samuel sprach zum ganzen Israel: Ich habe nun in allem, was ihr mir vorgetragen habt, eurem Verlangen nachgegeben und habe einen König über euch gesetzt.
Forsothe Samuel seide to al Israel, Lo! Y herde youre vois bi alle thingis whiche ye spaken to me, and Y ordeynede a kyng on you;
2 So wird denn nunmehr der König vor euch aus- und einziehen; ich aber bin alt und grau geworden, so daß nun meine Söhne unter euch sind. Aber ich habe von meiner Jugend an bis auf den heutigen Tag vor euren Augen meinen Wandel geführt -
and now the king goith bifor you. Sotheli Y wexide eld and hoor; forsothe my sones ben with you; therfor Y lyuyde bifor you fro my yong wexynge age `til to this dai. And lo!
3 da bin ich, tretet gegen mich auf vor Jahwe und seinem Gesalbten! Wessen Ochse oder wessen Esel habe ich weggenommen? Wen habe ich bedrückt, wem Gewalt angethan? Von wem habe ich Sühngeld oder ein paar Schuhe genommen? Tretet gegen mich auf, so will ich es euch zurückerstatten!
Y am redi; speke ye to me bifor the Lord, and bifor `the crist of hym; whether Y took `the oxe of ony man, ether the asse; if Y falsly chalengide ony mon; yf Y oppresside ony man; if Y took yifte of `the hond of ony man; and Y schal `dispise it to dai, and Y schal restore to you.
4 Sie erwiderten: Du hast uns nicht bedrückt und uns keine Gewalt angethan und hast von niemandem etwas angenommen.
And thei seiden, Thou hast not falsly chalengid vs, nether hast oppressid vs, nether hast take ony thing of `the hond of ony man.
5 Da sprach er zu ihnen: Jahwe sei Zeuge euch gegenüber, und sein Gesalbter sei heute Zeuge, daß ihr in meiner Hand nichts gefunden habt. Sie riefen: Jawohl!
And he seide to hem, The Lord is witnesse ayens you, and his crist is witnesse in this day; for ye han not founde ony thing in myn hond. And thei seiden, Witnesse.
6 Da sprach Samuel zum Volke: Zeuge sei Jahwe, der Mose und Aaron erschaffen und der eure Väter aus Ägypten hergeführt hat!
And Samuel seide to the puple, The Lord, that made Moises and Aaron, and ledde youre fadris out of the lond of Egipt, is present;
7 Nun aber stellt euch her, daß ich mit euch vor Jahwe rechte und euch alle Wohltaten Jahwes vorhalte, die er euch und euren Vätern erwiesen hat!
now therfor stonde ye, that Y stryue bi doom ayens you bifor the Lord, of alle the mercyes of the Lord, whiche he dide with you, and with youre fadris.
8 Als Jakob nach Ägypten gekommen war, plagten die Ägypter sie. Da schrieen eure Väter zu Jahwe, und Jahwe sandte Mose und Aaron, die führten euere Väter aus Ägypten hinweg; und er gab ihnen Wohnsitze in diesem Lande.
Hou Jacob entride in to Egipt, and youre fadris crieden to the Lord; and the Lord sente Moises and Aaron, and ledde youre fadris out of Egipt, and settide hem in this place.
9 Aber sie vergaßen Jahwe, ihren Gott. Da verkaufte er sie in die Gewalt Siseras, des Feldherrn des Königs Jabin von Hazor, sowie in die Gewalt der Philister und des Königs von Moab, daß sie sie angriffen.
Whiche foryaten her Lord God; and he bitook hem in the hond of Sisara, maystir of the chyualrie of Asor, and in the hond of Filisteis, and in the hond of the kyng of Moab; and thei fouyten ayens hem.
10 Sie aber schrieen zu Jahwe und riefen: Wir haben gesündigt, daß wir Jahwe verlassen und den Baalen und Astarten gedient haben: nun aber befreie uns aus der Gewalt unserer Feinde, so wollen wir dir dienen!
Sotheli afterward thei crieden to the Lord, and seiden, We synneden, for we forsoken the Lord, and seruyden Baalym and Astroth; now therfor delyuere thou vs fro `the hond of oure enemyes, and we schulen serue thee.
11 da sandte Jahwe Jerubbaal, Barak, Jephta und Samuel und befreite euch aus der Gewalt eurer Feinde ringsum, daß ihr in Sicherheit wohnen konntet.
And the Lord sente Gerobaal, and `Bedan, that is, Sampson, and Barach, and Jepte, and Samuel, and delyuerede you fro the hond of youre enemyes bi cumpass; and ye dwelliden tristili.
12 Als ihr aber gewahrtet, daß Nahas, der König der Ammoniter, gegen euch anrückte, da spracht ihr zu mir: Nein! ein König soll über uns herrschen! - während doch euer Gott Jahwe euer König ist.
Forsothe ye sien, that Naas, kyng of the sones of Amon, cam ayens you; and ye seiden to me, counseilynge to axe noon other kyng than God, Nay, but a kyng schal comaunde to vs; whanne `youre Lord God regnede in you.
13 Nun denn, da ist der König, den ihr erkoren habt; Jahwe hat nun einen König über euch bestellt.
Now therfor youre kyng is redi, whom ye han chose and axid; lo! the Lord yaf to you a kyng.
14 Wenn ihr Jahwe fürchtet, ihm dient, seiner Stimme gehorcht und dem Befehl Jahwes nicht widerstrebt und wenn ihr, sowohl ihr selbst, als der König, der euch regiert, Jahwe, eurem Gotte, folgsam seid - -;
If ye dreden the Lord, and seruen hym, and heren his vois, and wraththen not the `mouth of the Lord; ye and youre kyng, that comaundith to you, schulen sue youre Lord God.
15 wenn ihr aber der Stimme Jahwes nicht gehorcht und dem Befehle Jahwes widerstrebt, so wird die Hand Jahwes wider euch und euren König sein.
Forsothe if ye heren not the vois of `the Lord, but wraththen his word, the hond of the Lord schal be on you, and on youre fadris.
16 Jetzt aber tretet her, daß ihr Zeugen des gewaltigen Ereignisses seiet, daß Jahwe vor euren Augen geschehen läßt.
But also now stonde ye, and se this gret thing which the Lord schal make in youre siyt.
17 Nicht wahr, gegenwärtig ist Weizenernte? Ich werde Jahwe anrufen, daß er Gewitter und Regen sendet: so werdet ihr dann inne werden und einsehen, wie großes Unrecht ihr nach dem Urteile Jahwes begangen habt, indem ihr einen König fordertet!
Whether heruest of whete is not `to dai? I schal inwardli clepe the Lord, and he schal yyue voices, `that is, thundris, and reynes; and ye schulen wite, and schulen se, for ye axynge a kyng on you han do greuouse yuel to you in the siyt of the Lord.
18 Da rief Samuel Jahwe an, und Jahwe sandte an jenem Tage Gewitter und Regen. Das Volk aber geriet in große Angst vor Jahwe und vor Samuel.
And Samuel criede to the Lord, and the Lord yaf voices and reynes in that dai.
19 Da bat das ganze Volk Samuel: Thue Fürbitte für deine Sklaven bei Jahwe, deinem Gotte, daß wir nicht umkommen, weil wir zu allen Sünden nun auch noch das Unrecht begangen haben, einen König zu fordern!
And al the puple dredde greetli the Lord and Samuel; and al the puple seide to Samuel, Preye thou for thi seruauntis to thi Lord God, that we die not; for we addiden yuel to alle oure synnes, that we axiden a kyng to vs.
20 Samuel erwiderte dem Volke: Seid getrost; ihr habt zwar all dieses Unrecht verübt - so laßt nun wenigstens nicht davon ab, Jahwe nachzufolgen, sondern dient Jahwe von ganzem Herzen
Forsothe Samuel seide to the puple, `Nyle ye drede; ye han do al this yuel; netheles `nyle ye go awey fro the bak of the Lord, but serue ye the Lord in al youre herte;
21 und folgt nicht den Nichtigen nach, die zu nichts taugen und nicht retten, da sie nichtig sind.
and nyle ye bowe aftir veyn thingis, that schulen not profite to you, nether schulen delyuere you; for tho ben veyn thingis.
22 Denn Jahwe wird um seines großen Namens willen sein Volk nicht verstoßen; hat es doch Jahwe gefallen, euch zu seinem Volke zu machen.
And the Lord schal not forsake his puple for his grete name; for the Lord swoor to make you a puple to hym silf.
23 Auch von mir sei es ferne, daß ich mich an Jahwe versündigen sollte, indem ich abließe, Fürbitte für euch zu thun: vielmehr will ich euch den guten und geraden Weg weisen.
Forsothe this synne be fer fro me in the Lord, that Y ceesse to preye for you; and Y schal teche you a riytful weie and good.
24 Nur fürchtet Jahwe und dient ihm treulich von ganzem Herzen; denn seht, was er Großes an euch gethan hat!
Therfor drede ye the Lord, and `serue ye hym in treuthe, and of al youre herte; for ye sien tho grete thingis, whiche he `dide in you;
25 Wenn ihr aber böse handelt, so werdet ihr samt eurem Könige hinweggerafft werden.
that if ye contynuen in malice, bothe ye and youre kyng schulen perische to gidere.
