Offenbarung 9
1 Der fünfte Engel stieß in die Posaune. Da sah ich einen Stern; der war vom Himmel auf die Erde gefallen. Ihm ward der Schlüssel zum Brunnen des Abgrunds übergeben. (Abyssos g12)
And the fifth angel sounded the trumpet, and I saw a star fall from heaven upon the earth, and there was given to him the key of the bottomless pit. (Abyssos g12)
2 Er öffnete den Brunnen des Abgrunds; da stieg Rauch auf aus dem Brunnen, wie der Rauch aus einem großen Ofen, so daß die Sonne und die Luft verfinstert wurden durch den Rauch, der aus dem Brunnen kam. (Abyssos g12)
And he opened the bottomless pit: and the smoke of the pit arose, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos g12)
3 Und aus dem Rauche kamen Heuschrecken über die Erde hin, und ihnen wurde die Gewalt gegeben, wie sie die Skorpione der Erde haben.
And from the smoke of the pit there came out locusts upon the earth. And power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power:
4 Es wurde ihnen aufgegeben, das Gras der Erde nicht zu schädigen, auch nicht das Grün und nicht die Bäume, sondern nur die Menschen, die das Siegel Gottes nicht auf ihrer Stirne tragen.
And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree: but only the men who have not the sign of God on their foreheads.
5 Doch wurde ihnen nicht die Macht verliehen, sie zu töten, vielmehr sie nur zu quälen fünf Monate lang. Und ihre Qual war wie die eines Skorpions, wenn er einen Menschen sticht.
And it was given unto them that they should not kill them; but that they should torment them five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he striketh a man.
6 In jenen Tagen suchen die Menschen den Tod, doch sie werden ihn nicht finden; sie werden zu sterben verlangen, und der Tod wird sie fliehen.
And in those days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall fly from them.
7 Die Heuschrecken waren Rossen ähnlich, die für den Krieg gerüstet sind; auf ihren Köpfen trugen sie etwas wie goldene Kränze, und ihre Angesichter waren wie Menschenangesichter.
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle: and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold: and their faces were as the faces of men.
8 Sie hatten Haare wie Frauenhaare, und ihre Zähne waren wie die von Löwen;
And they had hair as the hair of women; and their teeth were as lions:
9 sie hatten Panzer von Eisen, und das Geräusch ihrer Flügel war wie das Gerassel vieler Streitwagen, die in den Kampf hineinrasseln.
And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle.
10 Sie hatten Schwänze und Stacheln wie Skorpione; in ihren Schwänzen hatten sie die Kraft, den Menschen fünf Monate lang zu schaden.
And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months. And they had over them
11 Als König haben sie den Engel des Abgrunds über sich; hebräisch heißt er Abaddon und griechisch Apollyon. (Abyssos g12)
A king, the angel of the bottomless pit; whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek Apollyon; in Latin Exterminans, (Abyssos g12)
12 So ging das erste Weh vorüber; doch siehe, es kommen noch zwei Wehe.
One woe is past, and behold there come yet two woes more hereafter.
13 Der sechste Engel stieß in die Posaune. Da hörte ich eine Stimme von den vier Hörnern am goldenen Altare vor dem Angesichte Gottes.
And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet: and I heard a voice from the four horns of the great altar, which is before the eyes of God,
14 Sie sprach zum sechsten Engel, der die Posaune hielt: "Laß die vier Engel los, die an dem großen Euphratstrom gebunden sind!"
Saying to the sixth angel, who had the trumpet: Loose the four angels, who are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15 Da wurden die vier Engel losgelassen, die sich bereitgehalten hatten auf Stunde, Tag, Monat und Jahr, den dritten Teil der Menschen hinzumorden.
And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year: for to kill the third part of men.
16 Die Zahl der Reiterscharen war zwanzigtausendmal zehntausend; so hörte ich ihre Zahl.
And the number of the army of horsemen was twenty thousand times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them.
17 Also sah ich im Gesichte die Rosse und die Reiter. Sie trugen feuerrote, dunkelblaue, schwefelgelbe Panzer; die Köpfe der Rosse waren wie Löwenköpfe, aus ihren Mäulern gingen Feuer, Rauch und Schwefeldampf hervor.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision: and they that sat on them, had breastplates of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone, and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions: and from their mouths proceeded fire, and smoke, and brimstone.
18 Durch die drei Plagen, durch Feuer, Rauch und Schwefel, die aus ihren Mäulern kamen, ward der dritte Teil der Menschen umgebracht;
And by these three plagues was slain the third part of men, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19 die Kraft der Rosse liegt in ihrem Maul und Schwanze. Die Schwänze glichen nämlich Schlangen mit Köpfen, mit denen sie Schaden stiften.
For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For, their tails are like to serpents, and have heads: and with them they hurt.
20 Gleichwohl bekehrte sich der Rest der Menschen, die nicht durch diese Plagen getötet wurden, nicht von den Werken ihrer Hände, so daß sie die Dämonen nicht mehr verehrt hätten, und auch nicht die Götzenbilder aus Gold, Silber, Erz, Stein und Holz, die weder sehen noch hören noch gehen können.
And the rest of the men, who were not slain by these plagues, did not do penance from the works of their hands, that they should not adore devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and wood, which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21 Und sie bekehrten sich nicht von ihrem Morden, von ihren Zaubereien, ihrer Unzucht und ihren Diebereien.
Neither did they penance from their murders, nor from their sorceries, nor from their fornication, nor from their thefts.
