Offenbarung 21
1 Dann sah ich einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde. Der erste Himmel und die erste Erde waren vergangen, und auch das Meer ist nicht mehr.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and the sea is no more.
2 Dann schaute ich die heilige Stadt, das neue Jerusalem, wie es von Gott, vom Himmel niederstieg, ausgestattet wie eine Braut, die sich für ihren Bräutigam geschmückt hat.
And I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband.
3 Vom Throne her hörte ich eine laute Stimme rufen: "Siehe, das Gezelt Gottes bei den Menschen; er wird unter ihnen wohnen, sie werden seine Völker sein, und er, Gott selber, wird bei ihnen sein.
And I heard a loud voice out of the throne, crying. "Behold, God’s tent is with men, And he will tent with them, And they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them,
4 Er wird jede Träne aus ihren Augen wischen; der Tod wird nicht mehr sein, noch Trauer noch Klage noch Mühsal wird sein; das Frühere ist ja vorüber."
And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, Nor will there be mourning, Nor crying, nor pain any more. Because the first things have passed away."
5 Der auf dem Throne saß, sprach: "Siehe, ich mache alles neu!" Er fügte noch hinzu: "Schreibe! Diese Worte sind wahr und zuverlässig."
And He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said to me, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and genuine."
6 Dann sagte er: "Es ist geschehen. Ich bin das Alpha und das Omega, der Anfang und das Ende. Ich will aus dem Borne des Lebenswassers dem Dürstenden umsonst zu trinken geben.
He also said. "It has now come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, The Beginning and the End. To him who thirsts I will freely give Of the spring of the Water of life.
7 Wer siegt, soll dieses erben: Ich will ihm Gott sein, er soll mir Sohn sein.
He who overcomes will inherit these, And I will be his God, And he shall be my son.
9 Da kam einer von den sieben Engeln mit den sieben Schalen, angefüllt mit den sieben letzten Plagen, und sprach zu mir: "Komm, ich will dir die Braut und Gattin des Lammes zeigen."
And there came to me one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the last plagues, and he spoke to me, saying. "Come hither! I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife."
10 Da trug er mich in der Verzückung auf einen großen, hohen Berg und zeigte mir die heilige Stadt Jerusalem, wie sie aus dem Himmel von Gott herniederkam
And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain, huge and high; and he showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.
11 in Gottes Herrlichkeit. Ihr Glanz war wie der kostbarste Edelstein, wie ein kristallheller Jaspis.
It had the glory of God. Its light was like some precious stone, like jasper, clear as crystal;
12 Sie hatte eine große, hohe Mauer, zwölf Tore und auf den Toren zwölf Engel und Namen darauf geschrieben: die Namen der zwölf Stämme Israels.
with a wall great and high, and twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names written thereon, the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
13 Im Osten waren drei Tore, im Norden drei Tore, im Süden drei Tore, im Westen drei Tore.
On the east were three gates; and on the north, three gates; and on the south, three gates; and on the west, three gates.
14 Die Stadtmauer hatte zwölf Grundsteine, auf denen die zwölf Namen der zwölf Apostel des Lammes geschrieben standen.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 Der mit mir redete, hatte ein goldenes Meßrohr, um die Stadt, ihre Tore und ihre Mauer auszumessen.
And he who spoke had a golden reed, as a measure, to measure the city and its gates and walls.
16 Die Stadt ist in einem Viereck angelegt, so lang wie breit. Und er maß mit dem Rohre die Stadt: zwölftausend Stadien; die Länge, Breite, Höhe sind bei ihr ganz gleich.
And the city lies foursquare; the length of it is as great as the breadth. Then he measured the city with the reed, fifteen hundred miles; the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 Er maß auch ihre Mauer: einhundertvierundvierzig Ellen nach dem Maß der Menschen, das auch das der Engel ist.
And he measured its wall, two hundred and sixteen feet, man’s measure, which is an angel’s.
18 Die Mauer ist aus Jaspis aufgebaut; die Stadt jedoch ist reines Gold, so rein wie Glas.
And its wall is made of jasper; but the city is of pure gold, like pure glass.
19 Die Grundsteine der Stadtmauer trugen Schmuck aus verschiedenen Edelsteinen: Der erste Grundstein war ein Jaspis, der zweite ein Saphir, der dritte ein Chalzedon, der vierte ein Smaragd,
The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kings of precious stones. The first foundation-stone was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20 der fünfte ein Sardonyx, der sechste ein Sardis, der siebente ein Chrysolith, der achte ein Beryll, der neunte ein Topas, der zehnte ein Chrysopras, der elfte ein Hyazinth, der zwölfte ein Amethyst.
the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
21 Und die zwölf Tore waren aus zwölf Perlen; ein jedes Tor bestand aus einer einzigen Perle. Die Straßen in der Stadt waren aus reinem Golde, wie durchsichtiges Glas.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate of one pearl. And the broad street of the city was of pure gold, transparent like glass.
22 Doch einen Tempel sah ich nicht darin; denn Gott, der Herr, der Allbeherrscher, sowie das Lamm ist ihr Tempel.
And I saw no temple in the city; For the temple is the Lord God, the Almighty, And the Lamb.
23 Die Stadt braucht auch nicht die Sonne noch den Mond, damit sie in ihr scheinen; denn die Herrlichkeit Gottes erhellt sie, und ihre Leuchte ist das Lamm.
And the city has no need of the sun, Nor of the moon, to shine upon it; For the glory of God has lightened it, And its lamp is the Lamb.
24 In ihrem Lichte werden die Völker wandeln; die Könige der Erde werden ihre Herrlichkeit ihr bringen.
And the nations will walk by its light. And into it the kings of the earth will bring their glory;
25 Auch werden ihre Tore tagsüber nie geschlossen werden; denn Nacht gibt es dort nicht.
And its gates will not be shut by day, (For there is no night there);
26 Man wird die Herrlichkeit und den Reichtum der Völker in sie bringen.
And they will bring the glory and honor Of the nations into it.
27 Etwas Gemeines aber wird nicht in sie eingehen, auch nicht, wer Greuel und Lüge tut; nur wer eingetragen ist im Lebensbuch des Lammes.
There will not enter it anything profane, Nor any who work abominations and a lie; But only those who are written In the Lamb’s Book of Life.
