Psalm 66
1 Auf den Siegesspender, ein Gesang; ein Lied. - Jauchzt Gott zu, alle Lande!
To the Chief Musician. A Melodious Song. Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth;
2 Besinget seines Namens Herrlichkeit! Besinget herrlich seinen Lobpreis!
Praise ye in song the glory of his Name, Celebrate the glory of his praise:
3 So sprecht von Gott: "Wie wundervoll sind Deine Werke! Selbst Deine Feinde schlagen sich auf Deine Seite ob Deiner großen Macht.
Say unto God—How fearful in thy doings, Through the abounding of thy power, shall thy foes come cringing unto thee;
4 Der ganze Erdkreis betet vor Dir an und singet Dir, singt Deinem Namen." (Sela)
All the earth, shall bow themselves down to thee, And sing praises unto thee, Shall praise in song thy Name. (Selah)
5 Herbei! Schaut Gottes Werke! Wie hehr sein Walten an den Menschenkindern!
Come and see the doings of God, —Fearful in deed toward the sons of men:
6 In trocken Land verwandelt er das Meer; zu Fuß durchschreiten sie den Strom. So wollen wir uns seiner freuen.
He turned the sea into dry land, Through the stream, crossed they over on foot, There did we rejoice in him:
7 Der ewig herrscht mit seiner Allgewalt, er richtet seine Blicke auf die Heiden; sie können sie nicht von sich abwenden trotz ihrem Sträuben. (Sela)
Who ruleth, in his might, unto times age abiding, His eyes, over the nations, keep watch, The rebellious, let them not exalt themselves. (Selah)
8 Ihr Völker, preiset unsern Gott und lasset laut sein Lob erschallen,
Bless our God, O ye peoples, And cause to be heard, the sound of his praise; —
9 der unser Leben immerfort erhält und unsern Fuß nicht gleiten läßt!
Who hath set our soul among the living, And hath not suffered, our foot, to slip.
10 Du hast uns freilich, Gott, geprüft, geläutert uns wie Silber.
For thou didst prove us, O God, Thou didst refine us, according to the refining of silver:
11 Du hast in Banden uns gebracht und Fesseln unsern Hüften angelegt,
Thou didst bring us into the hunter’s net, Thou didst lay a load upon our loins;
12 und Menschen hast Du über uns zu Herren eingesetzt; in Feuer und in Wasser kamen wir; doch Du befreitest uns daraus zum Heile. -
Thou didst let men ride at our head; We went into fire and into water, But thou didst bring us forth into freedom.
13 So walle ich mit Brandopfern zu Deinem Hause, und mein Gelübde löse ich Dir ein,
I will enter thy house with ascending-sacrifices, I will pay unto thee my vows,
14 wozu sich meine Lippen aufgetan, und was mein Mund in meiner Not versprochen.
Which my lips uttered, And my mouth spake, in my distress.
15 Brandopfer fetter Tiere bringe ich Dir dar samt Opferduft von Widdern; ich richte Rinder her und Böcke. (Sela)
Ascending-sacrifices of fatlings, will I cause to ascend unto thee, With the perfume of rams, I will offer bulls, with he-goats. (Selah)
16 Herbei, ihr Gottesfürchtigen alle! Hört! Ich will euch erzählen, was er mir getan:
Come! hearken—that I may recount, all ye reverers of God, What he hath done for my soul: —
17 Mit meinem Munde habe ich zu ihm gerufen und Großes ihm mit meiner Zunge vorgetragen.
Unto him—with my mouth, did I cry, And high praise was under my tongue.
18 Wenn ich mich eines Frevels schuldig je gewußt, dann hätte mich der Herr nicht angehört.
If, iniquity, I had cared for in my heart, My Lord, had not heard me!
19 Nun aber hat es Gott gehört und auf mein laut Gebet geachtet.
But in truth, God hath heard, He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
20 Gelobt sei Gott, der meine Bitte nicht versagt und seine Huld mir nicht entzogen!
Blessed be God, Who hath not turned away my prayer, Nor his own lovingkindness from me.
