Psalm 65
1 Auf den Siegesspender, ein Lied, von David, ein Gesang. Als Lobgesang gebührt Dir Schweigen, Gott; in Sion will man Dir Gelübde lösen.
To the chief Musician, A Psalm [and] Song of David. Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed.
2 Erhörer des Gebets! Wenn alles Fleisches Missetat auch vor Dich käme,
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.
3 an Zahl noch mehr als unsere eigenen Vergehen, Du bist es, der sie tilgen kann.
Iniquities prevail against me: [as for] our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away.
4 Heil dem, den Du erwählest und berufst, daß er in Deinen Höfen weile! Wir möchten uns am Segen Deines Hauses, an Deines Tempels Weihe laben.
Blessed [is the man whom] thou choosest, and causest to approach [unto thee, that] he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, [even] of thy holy temple.
5 Du mögest uns auf wirklich wunderbare Art erhören, Du unseres Heiles Gott, Du Hoffnung aller fernsten Erd- und Meeresgrenzen,
[By] terrible things in righteousness wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; [who art] the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off [upon] the sea:
6 der Du die Berge unermüdlich fruchtbar machst, mit Kraft gegürtet,
Which by his strength setteth fast the mountains; [being] girded with power:
7 der Du der Meere Brausen stillst, das laute Toben ihrer Wogen, das Ungestüm der Völker.
Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
8 Die an den Enden wohnen, vor Deinen Zeichen werden sie sich fürchten, wenn Du das Morgen- und das Abendland aufjubeln machst.
They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.
9 Wenn Du die Erde heimsuchst, mögst Du sie bewässern und segnen reich mit einem Gottesbach voll Wasser und so ihr Korn bereiten, wenn Du sie so bestellst!
Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, [which] is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.
10 Befeuchte ihre Furchen, ebne ihre Schollen, und Regengüsse mögen sie erweichen!
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.
11 Du aber segne ihr Gewächs! Mögst Du das Jahr mit Deinem Segen krönen, daß Deine Pfade triefen von dem Überfluß!
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
12 Auf daß der Steppe Auen triefen, die Hügel sich mit Jubel gürten,
They drop [upon] the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.
13 die Fluren sich in Früchte kleidenund Täler sich in Korn einholenund jauchzend um die Wette singen!
The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.
