Psalm 21
1 Auf den Siegesspender, ein Lied, von David. Ein König freut sich über Deine Macht, und wie frohlockt er über Deine Hilfe, Herr!
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 Erfüllt hast Du ihm seinen Herzenswunsch, ihm nicht versagt, was seine Lippen sich erfleht. (Sela)
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. (Selah)
3 Entgegen kamst Du ihm mit reichem Segen und setztest eine goldene Krone ihm aufs Haupt.
For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 Um Leben hat er Dich gebeten; Du hast's ihm geschenkt, ein langes Leben, unvergänglich.
He asked life of thee, [and] thou gavest [it] him, [even] length of days for ever and ever.
5 Sein Ruhm wird groß durch Deine Hilfe; Du hüllest ihn in Glanz und Majestät.
His glory [is] great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
6 Du machst zum Segen ihn für immerdar und labst ihn mit den Wonnen Deines Angesichtes. -
For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
7 Ja, auf den Herrn vertraut der König und zweifelt nimmer an des Höchsten Huld. -
For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
8 Gewachsen allen Deinen Feinden zeigt sich Deine Hand, gewachsen Deine Rechte allen denen, die Dich hassen.
Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Zur rechten Zeit, o Herr, machst Du Dein Angesicht zur Feueresse, die sie mit ihrer Glut vernichtet, und Feuer frißt sie auf.
Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Du tilgst vom Boden ihre Frucht und aus den Menschenkindern ihren Stamm,
Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 Weil sie mit Bösem Dir gedroht und Pläne sich ersonnen, wie sie es nimmer durften.
For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, [which] they are not able [to perform].
12 Denn grausam wirfst Du diese hinund zielst mit Deinem Bogen auf ihr Angesicht.
Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, [when] thou shalt make ready [thine arrows] upon thy strings against the face of them.
13 Erhebe, Herr, Dich wiederum in Deiner Kraft! Wir möchten Deinen Sieg mit Sang und Spielen feiern.
Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: [so] will we sing and praise thy power.
