Philipper 3
1 Im übrigen, o meine lieben Brüder, freuet euch im Herrn! Das Gleiche euch zu schreiben, ist keine Last für mich, für euch bedeutet es aber Sicherheit.
As to the rest, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not wearisome, but to you it is necessary.
2 Nehmt euch vor den Hunden in acht, nehmt euch in acht vor schlechten Arbeitern, nehmt euch in acht vor der Zerschneidung!
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 Die richtige Beschneidung sind doch wir, die geistigen Gottesdiener, die wir uns in Christus Jesus rühmen und nicht dem Fleische vertrauen,
For we are the circumcision, who in spirit serve God; and glory in Christ Jesus, not having confidence in the flesh.
4 obwohl ich auch dem Fleische vertrauen könnte. Wenn irgendeiner meint, er könne auf das Fleisch vertrauen, so könnte ich erst recht dies tun.
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other thinketh he may have confidence in the flesh, I more,
5 Ich bin am achten Tage beschnitten, bin aus dem Volke Israel und aus dem Stamme Benjamin und ein Hebräer von hebräischen Ahnen; ich war gesetzestreuer Pharisäer,
Being circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to the law, a Pharisee:
6 voll Eifer verfolgte ich die Kirche Gottes, von tadellosem Wandel, was die Gerechtigkeit betrifft, die aus dem Gesetze stammt.
According to zeal, persecuting the church of God; according to the justice that is in the law, conversing without blame.
7 Doch was mir einstens als Gewinn erschien, das habe ich um Christi willen für wertlos erachtet.
But the things that were gain to me, the same I have counted loss for Christ.
8 Ich erachte übrigens gar alles für wertlos; denn weit wertvoller ist die Erkenntnis meines Herrn Christus Jesus, für den ich alles preisgegeben habe. Geradezu für Kehricht halte ich es, um Christus dadurch zu gewinnen,
Furthermore I count all things to be but loss for the excellent knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but as dung, that I may gain Christ:
9 damit ich in ihm gefunden werde, und dies nicht mit meiner Gerechtigkeit aus dem Gesetze, vielmehr mit der Gerechtigkeit aus dem Glauben an Christus, die aus Gott stammt, ruhend auf dem Glaubensgrund.
And may be found in him, not having my justice, which is of the law, but that which is of the faith of Christ Jesus, which is of God, justice in faith:
10 So werde ich ihn erkennen und die Macht seiner Auferstehung sowie die Gemeinschaft mit seinen Leiden dadurch, daß ich ihm im Tod ähnlich werde,
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable to his death,
11 in dem Gedanken, zur Auferstehung von den Toten zu gelangen.
If by any means I may attain to the resurrection which is from the dead.
12 Nicht, als hätte ich es bereits erreicht oder als ob ich schon vollendet wäre, jedoch ich jage ihm nach und möchte es ergreifen, wie auch ich von Christus Jesus ergriffen ward.
Not as though I has already attained, or were already perfect; but I follow after, if I may by any means apprehend, wherein I am also apprehended by Christ Jesus.
13 Brüder! Ich bilde mir nicht ein, es schon erreicht zu haben; eins aber tue ich: Ich vergesse, was hinter mir ist, und strecke mich nach dem, was vor mir liegt;
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended. But one thing I do: forgetting the things that are behind, and stretching forth myself to those that are before,
14 das Ziel im Auge jage ich dem Kampfpreis nach: der Berufung von droben, von Gott durch Christus Jesus.
I press towards the mark, to the prize of the supernal vocation of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Wir alle, die wir schon vollendet sind, wollen doch so denken. Doch solltet ihr in einem Punkte anders denken, so wird euch Gott auch dies offenbaren;
Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, be thus minded; and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, this also God will reveal to you.
16 nur müssen wir auf dem betretenen Wege weitergehen.
Nevertheless whereunto we are come, that we be of the same mind, let us also continue in the same rule.
17 Ahmt mich nach, liebe Brüder, und achtet sehr auf die, die nach unserem Vorbild wandeln.
Be ye followers of me, brethren, and observe them who walk so as you have our model.
18 Denn viele wandeln, wie ich euch schon oft gesagt habe, jetzt aber unter Tränen wiederhole, als Feinde des Kreuzes Christi.
For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping), that they are enemies of the cross of Christ;
19 Ihr Ende ist Verderben, ihr Gott der Bauch, sie setzen ihren Ruhm in ihre Scham; ihr Sinnen geht nur aufs Irdische.
Whose end is destruction; whose God is their belly; and whose glory is in their shame; who mind earthly things.
20 Doch unser Staat ist im Himmel, woher wir unseren Erlöser, den Herrn Jesus Christus, erwarten.
But our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ,
21 Er wird dann unseren armseligen Leib verwandeln und seinem verklärten Leibe gleichgestalten mit der Macht, mit der er auch das All sich unterwerfen kann.
Who will reform the body of our lowness, made like to the body of his glory, according to the operation whereby also he is able to subdue all things unto himself.
