Matthaeus 24
1 Jesus verließ darauf den Tempel und wollte weitergehen. Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm und wiesen auf die Tempelbauten hin.
Then Jesus left the Temple courts and was walking away, when his disciples came to point out to him the Temple buildings.
2 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr seht wohl all dies? Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Hier wird kein Stein auf dem andern bleiben, der nicht wird abgebrochen werden."
"You see all these buildings?" he answered them; "I tell you solemnly that there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be torn down."
3 Dann setzte er sich auf dem Ölberg nieder. Seine Jünger traten allein vor ihn und baten: "Sage uns, wann wird denn dies geschehen? Welches wird das Zeichen deiner Ankunft sein und das der Weltvollendung?" (aiōn g165)
When he had seated himself on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?" (aiōn g165)
4 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Sehet zu, daß euch niemand verführe.
"Take care," Jesus answered, "that no one mislead you;
5 Viele werden unter meinem Namen kommen und behaupten: 'Ich bin der Christus.' Und sie werden viele täuschen.
"for many will come in my name saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.
6 Ihr werdet von Kriegen und von Kriegsgerüchten hören. Gebt acht und laßt euch nicht erschrecken. All dies muß geschehen, doch es ist noch nicht das Ende.
"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see to it that you are not afraid. Such things must happen, but the end is not yet.
7 Denn Volk wird sich gegen Volk erheben und Reich gegen Reich, Pest, Hunger und Erdbeben werden an vielen Orten sein.
"Such things must happen, nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
8 Dies alles ist aber erst der Anfang der Wehen.
"All these things are the beginning of birth-pangs.
9 Dann wird man euch der Drangsal überliefern und euch töten; bei allen Völkern werdet ihr um meines Namens willen gehaßt sein.
"Then they will deliver you up to suffer affliction, and will put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.
10 Es werden viele daran Anstoß nehmen und sich gegenseitig verraten und sich hassen.
"And then many will stumble and fall, and will betray one another, and hate one another.
11 Auch viele falsche Propheten werden sich erheben und viele verführen.
"Many false prophets will rise up and mislead many;
12 Und weil die Gesetzlosigkeit übergroß geworden ist, wird in vielen die Liebe erkalten.
"and because of the increase of iniquity the love of the majority will grow cold;
13 Doch wer ausharrt bis ans Ende, der wird gerettet werden.
"but he who endures to the end will be saved.
14 Auch wird dieses Evangelium vom Reiche in der ganzen Welt verkündet werden zum Zeugnisse für alle Völker. Und dann erst kommt das Ende.
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be proclaimed throughout the whole inhabited earth, for a testimony to the Gentiles, and then will come the end.
15 Wenn ihr dann den Greuel der Verwüstung, von dem der Prophet Daniel gesprochen, am heiligen Ort herrschen seht, - der Leser möge dies wohl beachten -,
"So when you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place let the reader take note of this,
16 dann fliehe ins Gebirge, wer in Judäa ist.
"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains;
17 Wer auf dem Dache ist, der steige nicht herab, sein Eigentum aus seinem Haus zu holen.
"let him who is upon the housetop not go down to get the things in his house,
18 Wer auf dem Felde ist, der wende sich nicht um, sein Oberkleid zu holen.
"and the man in the field not turn back to get his cloak.
19 Doch wehe den Frauen, die in jenen Tagen ein Kindlein unterm Herzen oder an der Brust tragen.
"Alas for thee women who are with child, and for the nursing mothers in those days!
20 Betet, daß eure Flucht nicht in den Winter oder auf den Sabbat falle.
"But pray that your flight may not be in the winter; nor on a Sabbath;
21 Es wird dann eine solche Trübsal sein, wie sie seit Anbeginn der Welt bis jetzt noch nie gewesen ist, noch jemals sein wird.
"for then shall be a time of great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never shall be again.
22 Ja, wenn jene Tage nicht abgekürzt würden, würde nichts Sterbliches gerettet werden. Doch um der Auserwählten willen werden jene Tage abgekürzt.
"And if these days had not been shortened, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect’s sake these days will be cut short.
23 Wenn euch dann jemand sagt: 'Siehe, hier ist Christus oder dort', glaubet es nicht.
"If at that time any one should say to you, ‘See, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ believe him not.
24 Denn falsche Christusse und falsche Propheten werden sich erheben; sie werden große Zeichen und Wunder tun, so daß, wenn es möglich wäre, sogar die Auserwählten irregeführt würden.
"For false christs and false prophets will arise, and will work great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if it were possible, the very elect.
25 Seht, ich sage es euch vorher.
"See, I have forewarned you! So if they say to you,
26 Wenn man zu euch dann sagt: 'Seht, er ist in der Steppe', geht nicht hinaus! 'Seht, er ist in den Gemächern', glaubt es nicht!
"‘See, He is in the desert,’ do not go out there. "‘See, He is in the inner room,’ do not believe it.
27 Denn, wie der Blitz im Osten aufflammt und bis zum Westen leuchtet, so wird es auch mit der Ankunft des Menschensohnes sein.
"For just as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west; so will be the coming of the Son of man.
28 Da, wo ein Aas ist, sammeln sich die Geier.
"Wherever the corpse lies, there will the vultures flock together.
29 Sogleich nach der Drangsal jener Tage wird sich die Sonne verfinstern, der Mond wird seinen Schein nicht mehr geben; die Sterne werden vom Himmel fallen, die Kräfte des Himmels erschüttert werden.
"But immediately after the tribulation of those days, "The sun will be darkened, The moon will not shed her light, The stars will fall from the sky, And the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 Dann wird das Zeichen des Menschensohnes am Himmel sichtbar werden; dann werden alle Völker auf derErde wehklagen und den Menschensohn auf den Wolken des Himmels kommen sehen mit großer Herrlichkeit.
"Then the signs of the Son of man will appear in the sky; and then all the tribes of the earth will lament, when they see the Son of man coming upon the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.
31 Er wir seine Engel aussenden mit gewaltigem Posaunenschall; sie werden seine Auserwählten sammeln von den vier Richtungen des Windes, von einem Ende des Himmels bis zum anderen.
"And he will send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather his elect together from the four winds, from utmost heaven to utmost earth.
32 Vom Feigenbaum aber lernt das Gleichnis: Wenn seine Zweige saftig werden und er Blätter treibt, dann wisset ihr: der Sommer ist nahe.
"Learn from the fig tree, her parable; when her branches are become soft, and put forth leaves, you know that summer is near;
33 So sollt auch ihr, wenn ihr all dies seht, erkennen, daß es dicht vor der Türe steht.
"so you also, when you see these signs, know that He is near, at the very doors.
34 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Dieses Geschlecht wird nicht vergehen, bis all dies geschehen wird.
"I tell you in solemn truth, that the present generation shall not pass away till all these things happen.
35 Himmel und Erde werden vergehen, doch meine Worte werden nicht vergehen.
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
36 Von jenem Tag aber und der Stunde weiß niemand etwas, nicht einmal die Engel des Himmels, als allein der Vater.
"But no one knows about that day and hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
37 Wie die Zeit des Noe, so wird die Ankunft des Menschensohnes sein:
"And as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
38 Gleichwie man in den Tagen vor der Sintflut aß und trank, zur Ehe gab und nahm bis zu dem Tage, da Noe in die Arche ging,
"For just as in the days before the deluge they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the very day when Noah entered the ark,
39 und man nicht zur Besinnung kam, bis die Flut hereinbrach und sie alle mit sich fortriß, so wird auch die Ankunft des Menschensohnes sein.
40 Da werden zwei auf dem Felde sein: der eine wird mitgenommen, der andre bleibt zurück.
"At that time there will be two men in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left.
41 Es werden zwei an der Mühle mahlen: es wird die eine mitgenommen, die andre bleibt zurück.
"Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 So seid denn wachsam; denn ihr wisset nicht, an welchem Tag euer Herr erscheint.
"Keep guard then, for you do not know the day on which your Master is coming.
43 Das aber bedenket: Wenn der Hausherr wüßte, zu welcher Stunde in der Nacht der Dieb kommt, dann würde er wohl wachen und ihn nicht in sein Haus einbrechen lassen.
"But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have been on his guard, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 So seid auch ihr bereit! Denn der Menschensohn kommt zu einer Stunde, da ihr es nicht vermutet.
"Therefore you also must be ready, for in an hour when you do not expect him, the Son of man is coming.
45 Wer ist der treue und verständige Knecht, den der Herr über sein Gesinde setzt, damit er ihm zur rechten Zeit die Nahrung reiche?
"Who, then, is the faithful and prudent slave, to whom his master has entrusted his household, to give them their food in due season?
46 Wohl dem Knecht, den der Herr bei seiner Heimkehr also handelnd antrifft.
"Blessed is that slave whom his Master, when he comes, shall find so doing.
47 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Er wird ihn zum Verwalter aller seiner Güter machen.
"In solemn truth I tell you that he will set him over all his property.
48 Doch würde jener böse Knecht bei sich denken: 'Mein Herr bleibt noch länger aus';
"But if, because he is a bad slave, he should say to himself, ‘My Master is a long time in coming,’
49 und würde er seine Mitknechte verprügeln, wollte er mit Trunkenbolden essen und zechen,
"and if he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and to eat or drink with the drunkards,
50 alsdann wird der Herr eines solchen Knechtes erscheinen an einem Tage, da er es nicht erwartet, zu einer Stunde, die er nicht kennt.
"on a day when he is not expecting him, and at an hour which he does not know, the Master of that servant will arrive
51 Er wird ihn dann in Stücke hauen und ihm bei den Heuchlern seinen Platz anweisen; dort wird Heulen und Zähneknirschen sein."
"and will scourge him severely, and allot him a place among hypocrites, where will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
