Matthaeus 21
1 Sie näherten sich Jerusalem und kamen nach Bethphage am Ölberg.
When they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 Dort sandte Jesus zwei von seinen Jüngern mit dem Auftrag fort: "Geht in das Dorf, das vor euch liegt. Sogleich werdet ihr eine Eselin angebunden finden und bei ihr ein Füllen. Bindet diese los und bringt sie mir!
saying to them, "Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me.
3 Und sollte es jemand euch verwehren, so sagt: 'Der Herr braucht sie; er wird sie sogleich wieder zurücksenden'"
And if anyone says anything to you, you are to say, 'Because the Lord needs them,' and he will send them at once."
4 Dies ist geschehen, damit erfüllt würde, was durch den Propheten gesprochen ward:
This took place that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
5 "Sagt der Tochter Sion: 'Siehe, dein König kommt zu dir, sanftmütig und auf einem Esel reitend, auf einem Füllen, auf dem Jungen eines Lasttiers.'"
Say to the daughter of Zion, "Look, your King comes to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey."
6 Die Jünger gingen weg und taten so, wie ihnen Jesus aufgetragen hatte.
The disciples went, and did just as Jesus directed them,
7 Sie brachten die Eselin mit ihrem Füllen, legten ihre Kleider auf sie, und er setzte sich darauf.
and brought the donkey and the colt, and placed their clothes on them; and he sat on them.
8 Sehr viele aus dem Volke breiteten ihre Kleider auf den Weg, andere hieben Zweige von den Bäumen und streuten sie auf den Weg.
A very large crowd spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road.
9 Die Scharen, die vor und hinter ihm herzogen, riefen laut: "Hosanna dem Sohne Davids! Gepriesen sei, der im Namen des Herrn kommt! Hosanna in der Höhe!"
The crowds who went before him, and who followed kept shouting, "Hosanna to the son of David. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest."
10 Bei seinem Einzug in Jerusalem geriet die ganze Stadt in Aufregung. Man fragte: "Wer ist dieser?"
When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, "Who is this?"
11 Die Scharen aber sagten: "Das ist der Prophet Jesus aus Nazareth in Galiläa."
The crowds said, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee."
12 Alsdann begab sich Jesus in den Tempel Gottes und jagte alle fort, die im Tempel kauften und verkauften. Auch stieß er die Tische der Wechsler und die Bänke der Taubenhändler um
Jesus entered into the temple, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers' tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.
13 und sprach zu ihnen: "Es steht geschrieben: 'Mein Haus soll ein Bethaus heißen; ihr aber macht es zu einer Räuberhöhle.'"
He said to them, "It is written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers."
14 Dann traten Blinde und Lahme im Tempel vor ihn hin, und er heilte sie.
The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
15 Als die Oberpriester und die Schriftgelehrten die Wunder sahen, die er wirkte, und die Kinder, die im Tempel riefen: "Hosanna dem Sohne Davids!", wurden sie unwillig
But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the son of David." they were indignant,
16 und sprachen zu ihm: "Hörst du, was diese rufen?" Und Jesus entgegnete ihnen: "Gewiß habt ihr noch nie gelesen: 'Du läßt dir aus dem Munde von Kindern und Säuglingen lobsingen.'"
and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of children and infants you have prepared praise?'"
17 Damit ließ er sie stehen und verließ die Stadt, ging nach Bethanien hinaus und blieb dort über Nacht.
He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.
18 Am frühen Morgen ging er wieder in die Stadt; da empfand er Hunger.
Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.
19 Er sah am Weg einen Feigenbaum, ging auf ihn zu, fand aber nichts daran als Blätter. Er sprach zu ihm: "In Ewigkeit sollst du nicht mehr Frucht tragen!" Im Nu war der Feigenbaum verdorrt. (aiōn g165)
Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, "Let there be no fruit from you forever." Immediately the fig tree withered away. (aiōn g165)
20 Die Jünger sahen dies und sprachen voll Verwunderung: "Wie doch der Feigenbaum augenblicklich verdorrt ist."
When the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, "How did the fig tree immediately wither away?"
21 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt und nicht zweifelt, werdet ihr nicht allein das zustande bringen, was an dem Feigenbaum geschehen ist; vielmehr, wenn ihr zu diesem Berge saget: 'Heb¥ dich hinweg und stürze dich ins Meer', so wird es geschehen.
Jesus answered them, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith, and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it would be done.
22 Ja, alles, was ihr im gläubigen Gebet erflehet, werdet ihr empfangen."
All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
23 Dann ging er in den Tempel. Und während er dort lehrte, traten die Oberpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes vor ihn hin und fragten: "In wessen Vollmacht tust du dies? Wer hat dir denn das Recht dazu gegeben?"
When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, "By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?"
24 Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Auch ich will euch etwas fragen. Gebt ihr mir Antwort, dann will auch ich euch sagen, in wessen Vollmacht ich dies tue.
Jesus answered them, "I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 Woher kam die Johannestaufe? Kam sie vom Himmel oder von den Menschen?" Da überlegten sie bei sich:
The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from people?" They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will ask us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
26 "Sagen wir 'vom Himmel', so wird er uns fragen: 'Warum habt ihr ihm dann nicht geglaubt?' Und sagen wir 'von Menschen', so haben wir das Volk zu fürchten; denn alle halten Johannes für einen Propheten."
But if we say, 'From people,' we fear the crowd, for all hold John as a prophet."
27 Und so erwiderten sie Jesus: "Wir wissen es nicht." Da sprach er zu ihnen: "Dann sage auch ich euch nicht, in wessen Vollmacht ich dies tue.
They answered Jesus, and said, "We do not know." He also said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
28 Jedoch was dünkt euch? Ein Mann hatte zwei Söhne. Da sprach er zu dem einen: 'Mein Sohn, geh, arbeite heute im Weinberg!'
But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, 'Son, go work today in the vineyard.'
29 Der sagte: 'Jawohl, Herr.' Doch er ging nicht.
He answered, 'I will not,' but afterward he changed his mind, and went.
30 Dann sprach er ebenso zum andern. Und dieser gab zur Antwort: 'Ich mag nicht.' Doch nachher reute es ihn, und er ging hin.
And he came to the other, and said the same thing. And he answered and said, 'I go, sir,' but he did not go.
31 Welcher von beiden hat den Willen des Vaters erfüllt?" "Der Letztere" sagten sie. Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Zöllner und Dirnen kommen noch vor euch ins Gottesreich.
Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of God before you.
32 Johannes kam zu euch auf dem Wege der Gerechtigkeit, und trotzdem habt ihr ihm nicht geglaubt. Die Zöllner und Dirnen aber haben ihm geglaubt. Ihr habt dies gesehen, und dennoch wurdet ihr nicht andern Sinnes, daß ihr ihm wenigstens nachher geglaubt hättet.
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you did not even repent afterward, that you might believe him.
33 Vernehmet ein anderes Gleichnis! Es war ein Hausherr; dieser pflanzte einen Weinberg, umgab ihn mit einem Zaune, grub in ihm eine Kelter und erbaute einen Turm. Darauf verpachtete er ihn an Winzer und ging nach auswärts.
"Hear another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, leased it out to tenant farmers, and went on a journey.
34 Es kam die Zeit der Lese. Da schickte er seine Knechte zu den Winzern, um den Ertrag des Weinbergs zu empfangen.
When the season for the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants, to receive his fruit.
35 Jedoch die Winzer packten seine Knechte, mißhandelten den einen, töteten den andern und steinigten den dritten.
The tenants took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.
36 Er schickte nochmals andre Knechte, mehr als zuvor. Jedoch sie machten es ihnen ebenso.
Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them the same way.
37 Zuletzt aber schickte er seinen Sohn zu ihnen, weil er dachte: Vor meinem Sohne werden sie wohl Achtung haben.
But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, 'They will respect my son.'
38 Als aber die Winzer den Sohn erblickten, sprachen sie unter sich: 'Das ist der Erbe. Kommt, lasset uns ihn töten; dann wird sein Erbteil unser sein.'
But the tenants, when they saw the son, said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and have his inheritance.'
39 Und sie ergriffen ihn, warfen ihn zum Weinberg hinaus und brachten ihn ums Leben.
So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
40 Wenn nun der Herr des Weinbergs kommt, was wird er wohl mit jenen Winzern tun?"
When therefore the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?"
41 Sie sagten ihm: "Er wird die Elenden elendig verderben, den Weinberg aber andren Winzern überlassen, die ihm den Ertrag zur rechten Zeit abliefern."
They told him, "He will utterly destroy those evil men, and will lease out the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him the fruit in its season."
42 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Habt ihr noch niemals in der Schrift gelesen: 'Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben, der ist zum Schlußstein geworden; dies ist durch den Herrn geschehen, und es ist wunderbar in unsern Augen'?
Jesus said to them, "Did you never read in the Scriptures, 'The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?'
43 So sage ich euch denn: Das Gottesreich wird euch genommen und einem Volke gegeben werden, das rechte Früchte bringt.
"Therefore I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation bringing forth its fruit.
44 Wer auf diesen Stein fällt, der wird zerschmettert werden, auf wen er aber fällt, den wird er zermalmen."
He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it will fall, it will crush him."
45 Die Oberpriester und die Pharisäer, die seine Gleichnisse mitanhörten, erkannten, daß er sie selber meine.
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke about them.
46 Sie hätten sich seiner gern bemächtigt; allein sie fürchteten das Volk, weil es ihn für einen Propheten hielt.
When they sought to seize him, they feared the crowds, because they considered him to be a prophet.
