Lukas 18
1 Er zeigte ihnen dann in einem Gleichnis, daß man andauernd beten müsse und nicht nachlassen dürfe.
And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,
2 Er sprach: "In einer Stadt lebte einst ein Richter, der Gott nicht fürchtete und nach Menschen nichts fragte.
saying, 'A certain judge was in a certain city — God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding —
3 In derselben Stadt lebte auch eine Witwe. Sie ging zu ihm und bat: 'Schaffe mir Recht gegen meinen Dränger!'
and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,
4 Er wollte eine Zeitlang nicht. Dann sagte er sich: 'Ich fürchte zwar Gott nicht und frage auch nichts nach den Menschen;
and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,
5 doch dieser Witwe will ich zu ihrem Recht verhelfen, weil sie mir lästig fällt. Am Ende kommt sie noch und fährt mir ins Gesicht.'"
yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.'
6 Der Herr sprach weiter: "Hört, was der ungerechte Richter sagt!
And the Lord said, 'Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:
7 Da sollte Gott seinen Auserwählten, die Tag und Nacht zu ihm rufen, nicht zu ihrem Recht verhelfen und sollte sie so lange warten lassen?
and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night — bearing long in regard to them?
8 Ja, ich versichere euch: Plötzlich wird er ihnen Recht verschaffen. Doch wird der Menschensohn, wenn er kommt, den Glauben auf Erden finden?"
I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'
9 Einigen, die sich für gerecht ansahen und die anderen verachteten, trug er dieses Gleichnis vor:
And he spake also unto certain who have been trusting in themselves that they were righteous, and have been despising the rest, this simile:
10 "Zwei Menschen gingen in den Tempel, um zu beten. Der eine war ein Pharisäer und der andere ein Zöllner.
'Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer;
11 Der Pharisäer stellte sich gerade hin und betete also bei sich: 'O Gott, ich danke dir, daß ich nicht bin wie die anderen Menschen, wie die Räuber, Betrüger, Ehebrecher oder auch wie dieser Zöllner da.
the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;
12 Ich faste zweimal in der Woche und gebe den Zehnten von allem, was ich einnehme.'
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things — as many as I possess.
13 Der Zöllner aber blieb weit hinten stehen und wagte nicht einmal, die Augen zum Himmel zu erheben; er schlug an seine Brust und betete: 'Gott, sei mir Sünder gnädig!'
'And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me — the sinner!
14 Ich sage euch: Dieser ging gerechtfertigt nach Hause, jener nicht. Denn jeder, der sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt werden, und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden."
I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.'
15 Man brachte zu ihm Kinder, daß er sie berühre. Als dies die Jünger sahen, fuhren sie sie hart an.
And they were bringing near also the babes, that he may touch them, and the disciples having seen did rebuke them,
16 Doch Jesus rief sie zu sich her und sprach: "Lasset die Kinder zu mir kommen und wehrt es ihnen nicht; für solche ist das Reich Gottes!
and Jesus having called them near, said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;
17 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer das Reich Gottes nicht aufnimmt wie ein Kind, kommt nicht hinein."
verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'
18 Ein Vorsteher richtete an ihn die Frage: "Guter Meister, was muß ich tun, um das ewige Leben zu erwerben?" (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, 'Good teacher, what having done — shall I inherit life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)
19 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Was nennest du mich 'gut'? Gut ist Gott allein.
And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One — God;
20 Du kennst die Gebote: 'Du sollst nicht ehebrechen', 'du sollst nicht töten', 'du sollst nicht stehlen', 'du sollst kein falsches Zeugnis geben', 'du sollst Vater und Mutter ehren.'"
the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'
21 Doch dieser sprach: "All das habe ich von Jugend auf so gehalten."
And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'
22 Als Jesus dies hörte, sagte er zu ihm: "Eines fehlt dir noch: Verkaufe alles, was du hast, und verteile es den Armen, du wirst dann einen Schatz im Himmel haben. Dann komm und folge mir!"
and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'
23 Als er das vernahm, ward er ganz traurig; war er doch reich.
and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.
24 Als Jesus ihn so sah, sprach er: "Wie schwer kommen doch die Reichen in das Reich Gottes.
And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!
25 Viel leichter geht ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr als ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes."
for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'
26 Da fragten seine Hörer: "Wer kann da noch gerettet werden?"
And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'
27 Er sprach: "Was bei den Menschen unmöglich ist, das ist möglich bei Gott."
and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'
28 Da sagte Petrus: "Siehe, wir haben unser Eigentum verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt."
And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'
29 Er sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Es gibt keinen, der um des Reiches Gottes willen Haus und Weib, Brüder, Eltern oder Kinder verläßt
and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,
31 Dann rief er die Zwölf zu sich her und sprach zu ihnen: "Seht, wir ziehen nach Jerusalem hinauf, und alles wird in Erfüllung gehen, was die Propheten vom Menschensohn geschrieben haben:
And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,
32 Er wird den Heiden ausgeliefert, verspottet, mißhandelt und angespieen werden;
for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,
33 sie werden ihn geißeln und ihn töten, doch am dritten Tage wird er auferstehen."
and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'
34 Sie verstanden aber nichts davon; die Rede war für sie dunkel, und sie begriffen nicht, was er damit sagen wollte.
And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.
35 Er näherte sich Jericho; am Weg saß ein Blinder und bettelte.
And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,
36 Dieser hörte, wie das Volk vorbeizog, und fragte, was dies zu bedeuten habe.
and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be,
37 Man sagte ihm: "Jesus von Nazareth geht vorüber."
and they brought him word that Jesus the Nazarene doth pass by,
38 Da rief er: "Jesus, Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!"
and he cried out, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, deal kindly with me;'
39 Die vorausgingen, fuhren ihn an, er solle schweigen. Er aber schrie nur um so lauter: "Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner!"
and those going before were rebuking him, that he might be silent, but he was much more crying out, 'Son of David, deal kindly with me.'
40 Da blieb Jesus stehen und ließ ihn zu sich führen. Er kam her, und Jesus fragte ihn:
And Jesus having stood, commanded him to be brought unto him, and he having come nigh, he questioned him,
41 "Was soll ich dir tun?" Er bat: "Herr, ich möchte sehen können."
saying, 'What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, 'Sir, that I may receive sight.'
42 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Sei sehend! Dein Glaube hat dir geholfen."
And Jesus said to him, 'Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee;'
43 Und er konnte sogleich sehen, pries Gott und folgte ihm. Auch alles Volk, das zugesehen hatte, lobte Gott.
and presently he did receive sight, and was following him, glorifying God; and all the people, having seen, did give praise to God.
