Josua 6
1 Jericho aber war eine Sperrfestung. Nun wurde es von den Israeliten eingeschlossen. Und niemand konnte aus noch ein.
Now Iericho was shut vp, and closed, because of the children of Israel: none might go out nor enter in.
2 Da sprach der Herr zu Josue: "Jetzt gebe ich Jericho in deine Hand nebst seinem König und den Kriegern.
And the Lord saide vnto Ioshua, Behold, I haue giuen into thine hand Iericho and the King thereof, and the strong men of warre.
3 Zieht um die Stadt, ihr Streiter all! Zieht einmal um die Stadt! So sollst du sechs Tage tun.
All ye therefore that be men of warre, shall compasse the citie, in going round about the citie once: thus shall you doe sixe dayes:
4 Und sieben Priester sollen sieben Lärmhörner vor der Lade tragen! Am siebten Tage sollt ihr siebenmal um die Stadt ziehen, und die Priester sollen in die Hörner stoßen!
And seuen Priests shall beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke: and the seuenth day ye shall compasse the citie seuen times, and the Priests shall blow with the trumpets.
5 Wenn das Lärmhorn anhaltend ertönt und wenn ihr den Hörnerschall hört, dann soll das ganze Volk ein gewaltiges Geschrei erheben! Dann stürzt die Stadtmauer in sich zusammen, und das Volk kann einziehen, jeder, wo er steht."
And when they make a long blast with the rams horne, and ye heare the sound of the trumpet, al the people shall shoute with a great shoute: then shall the wall of the citie fall downe flat, and the people shall ascend vp, euery man streight before him.
6 Josue, Nuns Sohn, berief nun die Priester und sprach zu ihnen: "Tragt die Bundeslade! Sieben Priester sollen sieben Lärmhörner vor des Herrn Lade tragen!"
Then, Ioshua the sonne of Nun called the Priests and said vnto them, Take vp the Arke of the couenant, and let seuen Priests beare seuen trumpets of rams hornes before the Arke of the Lord.
7 Und sie sprachen zum Volke: "Zieht rings um die Stadt! Die Vorhut soll vor des Herrn Lade herziehen!"
But he said vnto the people, Goe and compasse the citie: and let him that is armed, go forth before the Arke of the Lord.
8 Es geschah, wie Josue zum Volke gesagt hatte. Die sieben Priester, die die sieben Lärmhörner vor dem Herrn trugen, zogen einher und stießen in die Hörner, und die Bundeslade des Herrn kam hinter ihnen.
And when Ioshua had spoken vnto the people, the seuen Priestes bare the seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went foorth before the Arke of the Lord, and blew with the trumpets, and the Arke of the couenant of ye Lord followed them.
9 Die Vorhut aber ging vor den in die Hörner stoßenden Priestern, und die Nachhut ging hinter der Lade, fort und fort in die Hörner stoßend.
And the men of armes went before the Priestes, that blewe the trumpets: then the gathering hoste came after the Arke, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
10 Dem Volke aber gebot Josue: "Ihr sollt nicht lärmen und eure Stimme nicht hören lassen! Kein Laut soll aus eurem Mund kommen, bis ich euch sage: 'Schreit!' Dann erhebt das Kriegsgeschrei!"
(Nowe Ioshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall nor shout, neither make any noyse with your voyce, neither shall a worde proceede out of your mouth, vntill the day that I say vnto you, Shout, then shall ye shoute)
11 So ließ er die Lade des Herrn einmal rings um die Stadt gehen. Dann gingen sie ins Lager und nächtigten im Lager.
So the Arke of the Lord compassed the citie, and went about it once: then they returned into the hoaste, and lodged in the campe.
12 Josue aber stand früh am Morgen auf; da nahmen die Priester die Lade des Herrn.
And Ioshua rose early in the morning, and the Priestes bare the Arke of the Lord:
13 Die sieben Priester, die Träger der sieben Lärmhörner vor des Herrn Lade, zogen hin und stießen fort und fort in die Hörner. Die Vorhut ging vor ihnen her, und die Nachhut folgte der Lade des Herrn, fort und fort in die Hörner stoßend.
Also seuen Priests bare seuen trumpets of rams hornes, and went before the Arke of the Lord, and going blewe with the trumpets: and the men of armes went before them, but the gathering hoste came after the Arke of the Lord, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
14 Sie zogen auch am zweiten Tage einmal um die Stadt und kehrten dann ins Lager zurück. So taten sie sechs Tage.
And the second day they compassed the citie once, and returned into the host: thus they did sixe dayes.
15 Am siebten Tage aber erhoben sie sich bei Anbruch der Morgenröte und zogen nach dieser Ordnung siebenmal um die Stadt. Nur an diesem Tage umzogen sie siebenmal die Stadt.
And when the seuenth day came, they rose early, euen with the dawning of the day, and compassed the citie after ye same maner seuen times: only that day they compassed the citie seuen times.
16 Beim siebtenmal stießen die Priester in die Hörner, und Josue rief dem Volke zu: "Macht ein Geschrei! Denn der Herr gibt die Stadt in eure Hand.
And when the Priests had blowen ye trumpets the seuenth time, Ioshua said vnto ye people, Shoute: for the Lord hath giuen you the citie.
17 Die Stadt aber und alles, was darin ist, sei dem Herrn gebannt! Nur die Wirtin Rachab soll am Leben bleiben nebst allen, die bei ihr im Hause sind! Denn sie hat die Boten versteckt, die wir gesandt.
And the citie shalbe an execrable thing, both it, and all that are therein, vnto the Lord: onely Rahab the harlot shall liue, shee, and all that are with her in the house: for shee hid the messengers that we sent.
18 Hütet euch aber vor dem Banngut, daß ihr es nicht verschiebt und von dem Banngut nehmt! Ihr brächtet damit das Lager Israels in den Bann und stürztet es ins Unglück.
Notwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it.
19 Alles Silber und Gold, alles eherne und eiserne Gerät sei dem Herrn geweiht! In den Schatz des Herrn soll es kommen!"
But all siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse, and yron shalbe consecrate vnto the Lord, and shall come into the Lordes treasury.
20 Da erhob das Volk ein Geschrei, und sie stießen in die Hörner. Als das Volk nämlich den Hörnerschall vernahm, erhob das Volk ein gewaltiges Geschrei. Da stürzte die Mauer in sich zusammen. Und das Volk zog in die Stadt, wo jeder gerade stand. So nahmen sie die Stadt ein.
So the people shouted, whe they had blowen trumpets: for when the people had heard the sound of the trumpet, they shouted with a great shoute: and the wall fel downe flat: so the people went vp into the citie, euery man streight before him: and they tooke the citie.
21 Und sie bannten alles in der Stadt, Mann und Weib, jung und alt, Rinder, Schafe und Esel mit des Schwertes Schärfe.
And they vtterly destroyed all that was in the citie, both man and woman, yong, and olde, and oxe, and sheepe, and asse, with the edge of the sword.
22 Den beiden Männern aber, die die Gegend erforscht hatten, hatte Josue gesagt: "Geht in das Haus jener Wirtin und holt das Weib mit all den Seinigen von da heraus, wie ihr ihr geschworen habt!"
But Ioshua had said vnto the two men that had spied out the countrey, Go into the harlots house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware to her.
23 Da gingen die jungen Männer, die Kundschafter, hin und führten Rachab, ihren Vater, ihre Mutter, ihre Brüder und all die Ihrigen heraus. Ihre ganze Sippe führten sie heraus; dann brachten sie diese außerhalb des Lagers Israels.
So the yong men that were spies, went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that shee had: also they brought out all her familie, and put them without the host of Israel.
24 Die Stadt aber und alles, was darin, steckten sie in Brand. Nur das Silber und Gold, die ehernen und eisernen Geräte gaben sie in den Schatz des Herrn.
After they burnt the citie with fire, and all that was therein: onely the siluer and the gold, and the vessels of brasse and yron, they put vnto the treasure of the house of the Lord.
25 Die Wirtin Rachab aber, ihr Vaterhaus und all die Ihrigen hatte Josue leben lassen. Und so blieb sie unter den Israeliten bis auf diesen Tag, weil sie die Boten versteckt hatte, die Josue gesandt, Jericho auszuspähen.
So Ioshua saued Rahab the harlot, and her fathers houshold, and all that shee had; and shee dwelt in Israel euen vnto this day, because shee had hid the messengers, which Ioshua sent to spie out Iericho.
26 Zu jener Zeit aber sprach Josue den Fluch aus: "Verflucht sei vor dem Herrn der Mann, der es wagt, diese Stadt Jericho wiederaufzubauen! Auf seinen Erstgeborenen soll er sie gründen und auf seinen Jüngsten ihre Pforten setzen!"
And Ioshua sware at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before ye Lord, that riseth vp, and buildeth this citie Iericho: hee shall lay the foundation thereof in his eldest sonne, and in his yongest sonne shall hee set vp the gates of it.
27 Und der Herr war mit Josue, und sein Ruf ging durch das ganze Land.
So the Lord was with Ioshua, and he was famous through all the world.
