Josua 3
1 Und Josue stand frühmorgens auf; da zogen sie von Sittim ab. Sie kamen dann an den Jordan, er und alle Israeliten, und sie nächtigten dort, bevor sie übersetzten.
Therfor Josue roos bi nyyt, and mouede tentis; and thei yeden out of Sechym, and camen to Jordan, he and alle the sones of Israel, and dwelliden there thre daies.
2 Nach drei Tagen gingen die Amtsleute durch das Lager
And whanne tho daies weren passid, crieris yeden thorouy the myddis of tentis,
3 und befahlen dem Volke: "Seht ihr die Bundeslade des Herrn, eures Gottes, von den levitischen Priestern getragen, dann sollt ihr von eurem Standorte abziehen! Und folgt ihr nach -
and bigunnen to crie, Whanne ye seen the arke of boond of pees of youre Lord God, and the preestis of the generacioun of Leuy berynge it, also rise ye, and sue the biforgoeris;
4 nur sei zwischen euch und ihr ein Raum von etwa zweitausend Ellen! Kommt aber nicht näher -an sie -, damit ihr den Weg wisset, den ihr gehen sollt! Denn ihr seid ihn bisher noch nie gegangen."
and a space of twey thousynde cubitis be bitwixe you and the arke, that ye moun se fer, and knowe bi what weie ye schulen entre, for ye `yeden not bifore bi it; and be ye war, that ye neiye not to the arke.
5 Da sprach Josue zu dem Volke: "Haltet euch rein! Denn morgen wirkt der Herr euch Wunder."
And Josue seide to the puple, Be ye halewid, for to morew the Lord schal make merueilis among you.
6 Zu den Priestern aber sprach Josue: "Nehmt die Bundeslade und schreitet dem Volke voran!" Da nahmen sie die Bundeslade und zogen dem Volke voran.
And Josue seide to the preestis, Take ye the arke of the boond of pees `of the Lord, and go ye bifor the puple. Whiche filliden the heestis, and tooken the arke, and yeden bifor hem.
7 Da sprach der Herr zu Josue: "Heute beginne ich, dich in den Augen von ganz Israel zu verherrlichen, damit sie daran erkennen, daß ich mit dir bin, wie ich mit Moses gewesen.
And the Lord seide to Josue, To dai Y schal bigynne to enhaunse thee bifor al Israel, that thei wite, that as Y was with Moises, so Y am also with thee.
8 Du sollst nun den Priestern, den Trägern der Bundeslade, befehlen: 'Kommt ihr zum Rande des Jordanwassers, dann sollt ihr am Jordan stehenbleiben!'"
Forsothe comaunde thou to preestis, that beren the arke of bond of pees, and seie thou to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to a part of the watir of Jordan, stonde ye therynne.
9 Und Josue sprach zu den Israeliten: "Tretet her und höret das Vorhaben des Herrn, eures Gottes!"
And Josue seide to the sones of Israel, Neiye ye hidur, and here ye the word of youre Lord God.
10 Und Josue sprach: "Daran sollt ihr erkennen, daß in eurer Mitte ein lebendiger Gott ist und daß er vor euch vertreibt die Kanaaniter, Chittiter, Chiwiter, Periziter, Girgasiter, Amoriter und Jebusiter:
And eft he seide, In this ye schulen wite that the Lord God lyuynge is in the myddis of you; and he schal distrye in youre siyt Cananey, Ethei, Euey, and Feresei, and Gergesei, and Jebusei, and Amorrei.
11 Die Bundeslade des Herrn der ganzen Erde zieht vor euch durch den Jordan.
Lo! the arke of boond of pees of the Lord of al erthe schal go bifor you thorouy Jordan.
12 Wählt euch inzwischen zwölf Männer aus Israels Stämmen, je einen Mann aus einem Stamm!
Make ye redi twelue men of the twelue lynagis of Israel, bi ech lynage o man.
13 Sobald die Füße der Priester, der Träger der Lade des Herrn, des Herrn der ganzen Erde, in das Jordanwasser tauchen, wird das Wasser des Jordan verschwinden; das Wasser aber, das von oben fließt, wird dastehen wie ein Wall."
And whanne the preestis, that beren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord God of al erthe, han set the steppis of her feet in the watris of Jordan, the watris that ben lowere schulen renne doun, and schulen faile; forsothe the watris that comen fro aboue schulen stonde togidere in o gobet.
14 Das Volk zog nun aus seinen Zelten, den Jordan zu überschreiten. Vor dem Volke die Priester, die Träger der Bundeslade.
Therfor the puple yede out of her tabernaclis to passe Jordan; and the preestis that baren the arke of boond of pees yeden bifor the puple.
15 Wie die Träger der Lade an den Jordan kamen und die Füße der Priester, der Träger der Lade, kaum ins Wasser tauchten - der Jordan aber war voll in all seinen Nebenflüssen während der ganzen Erntezeit -,
And whanne the preestis entriden in to Jordan, and her feet weren dippid in the part of watir; forsothe Jordan `hadde fillid the brynkis of his trow in the tyme of `ripe corn;
16 da stand das Wasser, das von oben floß, hatte es sich doch wie ein Wall erhoben, in großer Weite bei der Stadt Adam seitwärts von Saretan. Das Wasser aber, das zu dem Steppenmeere, dem Salzmeere floß, verschwand völlig. So zog das Volk hinüber auf Jericho zu.
the watris yeden doun, and stoden in o place, and wexiden grete at the licnesse of an hil, and apperiden fer fro the citee that was clepid Edom, `til to the place of Sarthan; sotheli the watris that weren lowere yeden doun in to the see of wildirnesse, which is now clepid the deed see, `til the watris failiden outirli.
17 Die Priester, die Träger der Bundeslade des Herrn, standen im Trockenen genau in der Mitte des Jordan, während ganz Israel im Trockenen hinüberzog, bis das ganze Volk den Jordan vollends überschritten hatte.
Forsothe the puple yede thorouy Jordan; and the preestis, that baren the arke of the boond of pees of the Lord, stoden gird on the drie erthe in the myddis of Jordan, and al the puple passide thorouy the drie trow.
