Johannes 19
1 Pilatus behielt Jesus und ließ ihn geißeln.
So Pilate then took Yeshua, and flogged him.
2 Und die Soldaten flochten eine Krone aus Dornen und setzten sie ihm auf das Haupt und legten ihm einen Purpurmantel um.
The soldiers twisted thorns into a crown, and put it on his head, and dressed him in a purple garment.
3 Dann traten sie vor ihn hin und riefen: "Heil dir, du König der Juden!" und gaben ihm Stockschläge.
And they kept coming up to him and saying, "Greetings, King of the Jews." and they struck him with their hands.
4 Pilatus ging jetzt wiederum hinaus und sprach zu ihnen: "Seht her, ich führe ihn euch vor, daß ihr es erkennt, daß ich keine Schuld an ihm finde."
Then Pilate went out again, and said to them, "Look, I am bringing him out to you, that you may know that I find no basis for a charge against him."
5 Und Jesus kam heraus; er trug die Dornenkrone und den Purpurmantel. Pilatus sprach zu ihnen: "Seht da den Menschen."
Then Yeshua came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. And he said to them, "Look, here is the man."
6 Doch als die Oberpriester und die Knechte ihn so sahen, schrien sie: "Ans Kreuz, ans Kreuz!" Pilatus sprach zu ihnen: "Dann nehmt ihn und kreuzigt ihn! Ich finde keine Schuld an ihm."
When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they shouted, saying, "Crucify. Crucify." Pilate said to them, "Take him yourselves, and crucify him, for I find no basis for a charge against him."
7 Darauf entgegneten ihm die Juden: "Wir haben ein Gesetz; nach dem Gesetz muß er sterben; er hat sich selbst zum Sohne Gottes erklärt!"
The Jewish leaders answered him, "We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God."
8 Als Pilatus diese Worte hörte, befiel ihn noch größere Furcht.
When therefore Pilate heard this saying, he was more afraid.
9 Er ging wieder ins Gerichtshaus und fragte Jesus: "Woher bist du?" Doch Jesus gab ihm keine Antwort.
He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Yeshua, "Where are you from?" But Yeshua gave him no answer.
10 Pilatus sprach zu ihm: "Mir gibst du keine Antwort? Weißt du nicht, daß ich Macht habe, dich freizulassen, und auch Macht, dich kreuzigen zu lassen?"
Pilate therefore said to him, "Are you not speaking to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you, and have power to crucify you?"
11 Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Du würdest über mich keine Macht besitzen, wenn sie dir nicht von oben gegeben wäre. Deshalb hat der die größere Sünde, der mich dir preisgegeben hat."
Yeshua answered, "You would have no power at all against me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who delivered me to you has greater sin."
12 Auf dies hin suchte Pilatus ihn freizugeben. Die Juden aber schrien: "Wenn du diesen freigibst, dann bist du kein Freund des Kaisers; jeder, der sich für einen König ausgibt, der lehnt sich gegen den Kaiser auf."
At this, Pilate was seeking to release him, but the Jewish leaders shouted, saying, "If you release this man, you are not Caesar's friend. Everyone who makes himself a king speaks against Caesar."
13 Als Pilatus diese Worte hörte, ließ er Jesus herbeiführen und setzte sich auf dem Platz, der Lithostrotos, hebräisch Gabbatha, genannt wird, auf den Richterstuhl.
When Pilate therefore heard these words, he brought Yeshua out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called "The Pavement," but in Hebrew, "Gabbatha."
14 Es war der Rüsttag des Osterfestes, um die sechste Stunde. Da sprach er zu den Juden: "Seht euren König."
Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, at about noon. He said to the Jewish leaders, "Look, here is your King."
15 Doch diese schrien: "Hinweg, hinweg; ans Kreuz mit ihm!" Da fragte sie Pilatus: "Euren König soll ich kreuzigen?" Die Oberpriester aber schrien: "Wir haben keinen König, nur den Kaiser."
They shouted, "Away with him. Away with him. Crucify him." Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your King?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar."
16 Da übergab er ihnen Jesus zur Kreuzigung. Sie übernahmen Jesus und führten ihn hinaus.
So then he delivered him to them to be crucified. So they took Yeshua.
17 Er trug sein Kreuz und ging hinaus zum Ort, der Schädelstätte heißt; hebräisch heißt er Golgotha.
And he went out, carrying the cross himself, to the place called "The Place of a Skull," which is called in Hebrew, "Gagulta,"
18 Dort kreuzigten sie ihn und mit ihm noch zwei andere rechts und links, Jesus aber in der Mitte.
where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Yeshua in the middle.
19 Pilatus hatte eine Inschrift schreiben und ans Kreuz anheften lassen. Sie lautete: "Jesus von Nazareth, der König der Juden."
Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, "YESHUA THE NATSRAYA, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
20 Diese Inschrift lasen viele von den Juden - der Ort, wo Jesus gekreuzigt worden war, lag nämlich nahe bei der Stadt -; sie war hebräisch, römisch und griechisch abgefaßt.
Therefore many Jews read this title, for the place where Yeshua was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek.
21 Die Oberpriester der Juden sprachen zu Pilatus.- "Schreibe nicht: 'Der König der Juden', vielmehr: 'Er hat gesagt, ich bin der König der Juden'."
The chief priests of the Jewish people therefore said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'he said, I am King of the Jews.'"
22 Pilatus sprach: "Was ich geschrieben habe, bleibt geschrieben."
Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written."
23 Als die Soldaten Jesus gekreuzigt hatten, nahmen sie seine Kleider und machten vier Teile daraus, für jeden Soldaten einen Teil; dazu den Leibrock. Der Leibrock war aber ohne Naht, von oben her in einem Stück gewebt.
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Yeshua, took his clothes and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24 Sie sprachen zueinander: "Wir wollen ihn nicht zerteilen, vielmehr um ihn losen, wem er gehören soll." So sollte in Erfüllung gehen, was in der Schrift geschrieben steht: "Sie teilen meine Kleider unter sich und werfen über mein Gewand das Los." Dies taten denn auch die Soldaten.
Then they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be," that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, "They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast a lot." Therefore the soldiers did these things.
25 Beim Kreuze Jesu standen seine Mutter, sowie die Schwester seiner Mutter, Maria, die Frau des Kleophas, und Maria Magdalena.
But there were standing by the cross of Yeshua his mother, and his mother's sister, Maryam the wife of Qalyopa, and Maryam Magdelaitha.
26 Als Jesus seine Mutter und den Jünger, den er liebte, dastehen sah, sprach er zu seiner Mutter: "Weib, siehe dein Sohn."
Therefore when Yeshua saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother, "Woman, look, your son."
27 Dann sprach er zu dem Jünger: "Siehe, deine Mutter." Und von jener Stunde an nahm sie der Jünger bei sich auf.
Then he said to the disciple, "Look, your mother." From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.
28 Weil Jesus wußte, daß jetzt alles vollbracht war, sprach er, damit die Schrift erfüllt würde, weiter: "Mich dürstet."
After this, Yeshua, knowing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I am thirsty."
29 Nun stand ein Gefäß voll Essig da. Man steckte einen Schwamm voll Essig auf einen Hysopstengel und hielt ihm diesen an den Mund.
A vessel full of sour wine was set there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop, and held it at his mouth.
30 Und Jesus kostete den Essig; alsdann sprach er: "Es ist vollbracht." Dann neigte er das Haupt und gab den Geist auf.
When Yeshua therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished." He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.
31 Es war Rüsttag. Da sollten die Leichen nicht über den Sabbat am Kreuze bleiben; denn jener Sabbat war ein ganz besonders hoher Tag. Deswegen baten die Juden den Pilatus, man möchte jenen ihre Gliedmaßen zerschlagen und sie herabnehmen.
Therefore the Jewish leaders, because it was the Preparation Day, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a special one), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 So kamen die Soldaten und zerschlugen dem einen seine Glieder und auch dem anderen, der mit ihm gekreuzigt worden war.
Therefore the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him;
33 Als sie zu Jesus kamen, sahen sie, daß er schon tot war, und so zerschlugen sie ihm die Glieder nicht.
but when they came to Yeshua, and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs.
34 Doch stieß ihm einer der Soldaten seine Lanze in die Seite, und sogleich floß Blut und Wasser heraus.
However one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
35 Dies erzählt ein Augenzeuge, dessen Zeugnis durchaus wahr ist, und er weiß, daß er die Wahrheit sagt, damit auch ihr glaubet.
He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.
36 Dies ist geschehen, damit die Schrift erfüllt würde: "Ihm soll kein Bein zerbrochen werden."
For these things happened, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "A bone of him will not be broken."
37 sowie die andere Schriftstelle: "Sie blicken auf zu dem, den sie durchbohrt haben."
Again another Scripture says, "They will look on him whom they pierced."
38 Joseph von Arimathäa, ein Jünger Jesu - nur im geheimen freilich; er hatte vor den Juden Angst -, bat Pilatus, den Leichnam Jesu abnehmen zu dürfen. Pilatus gab ihm die Erlaubnis. Er ging hin und nahm den Leichnam ab.
After these things, Yauseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Yeshua, but secretly for fear of the Jewish leaders, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Yeshua. Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore and took away his body.
39 Auch Nikodemus, der einst zur Nachtzeit bei ihm war, kam und brachte eine Mischung Myrrhe und Aloe mit, an hundert Pfund.
Niqadimus, who at first came to Yeshua by night, also came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.
40 Sie nahmen den Leichnam Jesu und wickelten ihn samt den Spezereien in Linnentücher ein, so wie es bei den Juden beim Bestatten Brauch ist.
So they took the body of Yeshua, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, according to Jewish burial practice.
41 An dem Ort, wo er gekreuzigt worden war, war ein Garten, und in dem Garten ein neues Grab, in das noch niemand gelegt worden war.
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever yet been placed.
42 Dorthin legten sie Jesus des Rüsttags der Juden wegen und weil das Grab so nahe war.
Then because of the Jewish Preparation Day (for the tomb was nearby) they put Yeshua there.
