Johannes 16
1 "Das habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr nicht Anstoß nehmet.
“These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.
2 Man wird euch aus der Synagoge ausschließen; es kommt sogar die Stunde, da jeder, der euch tötet, meint, Gott einen Dienst zu erweisen.
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
3 Sie werden so handeln, weil sie weder den Vater noch mich verstanden haben.
They will do these things because they have not known haAbba ·the Father·, nor me.
4 Dies habe ich euch gesagt, damit, wenn einmal die Stunde kommt, ihr euch an das erinnert, was ich euch gesagt habe. Ich habe bis jetzt nichts davon gesagt; ich war ja noch bei euch.
But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
5 Nun gehe ich zu dem, der mich gesandt hat, und keiner aus euch fragt mich: 'Wohin gehst du?'
But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
6 Weil ich euch dies gesagt habe, hat Trauer euer Herz erfüllt.
But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Jedoch ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist gut für euch, wenn ich jetzt hingehe; denn wenn ich nicht hingehe, wird auch der Beistand nicht zu euch kommen. Doch gehe ich hin, so werde ich ihn euch senden.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
8 Wenn alsdann jener kommt, wird er der Welt es zum Bewußtsein bringen, was Sünde, was Gerechtigkeit, was Gericht ist.
When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;
9 Sünde, weil sie nicht an mich geglaubt hat;
about sin, because they don’t believe in me;
10 Gerechtigkeit, weil ich zum Vater gehe und ihr mich nicht mehr sehen werdet;
about righteousness, because I am going to 'Avi ·my Father·, and you won’t see me any more;
11 Gericht, weil der Fürst dieser Welt gerichtet ist.
about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged.
12 Noch vieles hätte ich euch zu sagen, doch ihr könnt es jetzt noch nicht ertragen.
“I have yet many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
13 Wenn aber jener kommt, der Geist der Wahrheit, der wird euch in alle Wahrheit einführen. Er wird nicht von sich aus reden; er wird reden, was er hört, und euch die Zukunft künden.
However when he, haRuach [the Spirit] of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.
14 Er wird mich dann verherrlichen; er wird ja von dem Meinen empfangen und es euch verkünden.
He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you.
15 Alles, was der Vater hat, ist mein. Deshalb habe ich gesagt: Er wird von dem Meinigen empfangen und es euch verkünden.
All things whatever haAbba ·the Father· has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine, and will declare it to you.
16 Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und nochmals eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder denn ich gehe zum Vater."
A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
17 Da sprachen einige seiner Jünger zueinander: "Was soll das heißen, daß er sagt: 'Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder'; sowie: 'Ich gehe zum Vater'?"
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to haAbba ·the Father·’?”
18 Sie fragten also: "Was meint er mit der kleinen Weile; denn wir verstehen nicht, was er sagt?"
They said therefore, “What is this that he says, ‘A little while’? We don’t know what he is saying.”
19 Jesus merkte, daß sie ihn fragen wollten; er sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr fragt einander, weil ich sagte: Noch eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich nicht mehr, und nochmals eine kleine Weile, dann sehet ihr mich wieder?
Therefore Yeshua [Salvation] perceived that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me?’
20 Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und wehklagen, allein, die Welt wird sich freuen. Ihr werdet trauern, doch eure Trauer wird sich in Freude verwandeln.
Most certainly I tell you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
21 So hat das Weib, wenn es gebiert, sein Leid, weil seine Stunde da ist; hat es jedoch das Kind geboren, so denkt es nicht mehr an die Angst aus Freude, daß ein Mensch zur Welt geboren ist.
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she does not remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
22 So habt auch ihr jetzt Leid. Doch ich werde euch wiedersehen, und euer Herz wird sich freuen, und eure Freude wird niemand von euch nehmen.
Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
23 An jenem Tage werdet ihr mich nichts mehr fragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich sage ich euch: Wenn ihr den Vater um etwas bitten werdet, so wird er es meines Namens wegen euch geben.
“In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of haAbba ·the Father· in my name, he will give it to you.
24 Bisher habt ihr um nichts in meinem Namen gebeten. Bittet, und ihr werdet empfangen, und eure Freude wird vollendet sein.
Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
25 Dies habe ich in Gleichnissen zu euch geredet. Es kommt die Stunde, da will ich nicht mehr in Gleichnissen zu euch sprechen, vielmehr euch offen vom Vater Kunde geben.
I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about haAbba ·the Father·.
26 An jenem Tage werdet ihr in meinem Namen bitten; ich sage euch nicht: Ich will den Vater für euch bitten.
In that day you will ask in my name; and I don’t say to you, that I will pray to haAbba ·the Father· for you,
27 Der Vater selber liebt euch, weil ihr mich geliebt und weil ihr geglaubt habt, daß ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.
for haAbba ·the Father· himself phileo ·affectionate loves, has high regard for· you, because you have phileo ·affectionate loves, high regard for· me, and have believed that I came from God.
28 Ich bin vom Vater ausgegangen und in die Welt gekommen, ich verlasse wiederum die Welt und gehe zum Vater."
I came from haAbba ·the Father·, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to haAbba ·the Father·.”
29 Da sagten seine Jünger: "Siehe, jetzt sprichst du offen und gebrauchst kein Gleichnis mehr.
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you speak plainly, and speak no figures of speech.
30 Jetzt wissen wir, daß du alles weißt und niemand dich zu fragen braucht. Deshalb glauben wir, daß du von Gott ausgegangen bist."
Now we know that you know all things, and don’t need for anyone to question you. By this we believe that you came from God.”
31 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Jetzt glaubt ihr.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “Do you now believe?
32 Seht, es kommt eine Stunde, ja, sie ist schon da, da ihr euch zerstreuen werdet, ein jeder in sein Haus, und mich allein lasset. Doch ich bin nicht allein; der Vater ist mit mir.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because haAbba ·the Father· is with me.
33 Das habe ich zu euch gesagt, auf daß ihr Frieden in mir habet. In der Welt leidet ihr Drangsal; doch seid getrost: Ich habe die Welt überwunden."
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
