Jesaja 39

1 Zu jener Zeit sandte Merodoch Baladan, Baladans Sohn, der Babelkönig, Schreiber mit Geschenken zu Ezechias, auf die Nachricht hin, daß er krank gewesen und wieder zu Kräften gelangt sei.

At the same time, Merodach Baladan, the sonne of Baladan, King of Babel, sent letters, and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had bene sicke, and was recouered.

2 Ezechias freute sich darüber und zeigte ihnen sein Schatzhaus, das Silber und das Gold, die Spezereien und das Feinöl und sein ganzes Zeughaus und alles andere in seinen Schatzkammern. Nichts gab es in seinem Hause und in seinem ganzen Herrschaftsgebiete, was ihnen Ezechias nicht gezeigt hätte.

And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of the treasures, the siluer, and the golde, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was founde in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his kingdome that Hezekiah shewed them not.

3 Da kam der Prophet Isaias zum König Ezechias und sprach zu ihm: "Was haben diese Männer denn gesprochen? Woher kommen sie zu dir?" Da sprach Ezechias: "Aus fernem Lande kommen sie zu mir, aus Babel."

Then came Isaiah the Prophet vnto King Hezekiah, and said vnto him, What said these men? and from whence came they to thee? And Hezekiah saide, They are come from a farre countrey vnto me, from Babel.

4 Da sprach er: "Was haben sie in deinem Hause sich besehen?" Ezechias sprach: "Alles haben sie in meinem Hause sich besehen. Nichts gibt es, was ich ihnen in meinen Schatzkammern nicht vorgewiesen hätte."

Then saide he, What haue they seene in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house haue they seene: there is nothing among my treasures, that I haue not shewed them.

5 Da sprach Isaias zu Ezechias: "Vernimm das Wort des Herrn der Heerscharen!

And Isaiah saide to Hezekiah, Heare the worde of the Lord of hostes,

6 'Einst kommen Tage, da alles, was in deinem Hause ist, was deine Väter bis auf diesen Tag sich aufgespeichert, nach Babel fortgebracht wird. Nichts läßt man übrig', spricht der Herr.

Beholde, the dayes come, that all that is in thine house, and which thy fathers haue layed vp in store vntill this day, shall be caried to Babel: nothing shall be left, sayeth the Lord.

7 Und auch von deinen Leibessöhnen, die du noch zeugst, wird man dann einige nehmen, damit sie Kämmerlinge im Palast des Babelkönigs werden."

And of thy sonnes, that shall proceede out of thee, and which thou shalt beget, shall they take away, and they shall be eunuches in the palace of the King of Babel.

8 Da sprach Ezechias zu Isaias. "Das Herrnwort, das du angekündigt hast, ist recht." Dann sprach er. "Ein dauerhafter Friede herrsche noch in meinen Tagen!"

Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, The worde of the Lord is good, which thou hast spoken: and he saide, Yet let there be peace, and trueth in my dayes.
