Jesaja 34
1 Herbei, ihr Heidenvölker! Horchet auf! Merkt auf, ihr Nationen! Die Erde horche auf und was sie füllt, der Erdkreis und was ihm entsproßt!
Neiye, ye hethene men, and here; and ye puplis, perseyue; the erthe, and the fulnesse therof, the world, and al buriownyng therof, here ye.
2 Der Herr ist über alle Heiden schwer ergrimmt und zornig über all ihr Heer. Er hat sie mit dem Bann belegt und sie der Schlachtbank preisgegeben.
For whi indignacioun of the Lord is on alle folkis, and strong veniaunce on al the chyualrie of hem; he killide hem, and yaf hem in to sleyng.
3 Da liegen ihre Abgeschlachteten. Der Dunst von ihren Leichen steigt hoch auf; von ihrem Blute triefen Berge.
The slayn men of hem schulen be cast forth, and stynk schal stie of the careyns of hem; hillis schulen flete of the blood of hem.
4 Die ganze Himmelsschar verschwindet. Der Himmel rollt sich wie ein Buch zusammen. Sein ganzes Heer verschwindet wie Laub vom Weinstock welkt, wie von dem Feigenbaum unreife Früchte fallen.
And al the chyualrie of heuenys schal faile, and heuenys schulen be foldid togidere as a book, and al the knyythod of tho schal flete doun, as the leef of a vyner and of a fige tre fallith doun.
5 "Hat sich berauscht mein Schwert im Himmel, dann saust es auf die Erde nieder, auf das von mir gebannte Volk, zur Strafe."
For my swerd is fillid in heuene; lo! it schal come doun on Ydumee, and on the puple of my sleyng, to doom.
6 Das Schwert des Herrn wird dann voll Blut und trieft von Fett, vom Blut der Lämmer und der Böcke, vom Nierenfett der Widder. Zu Bosra gibt der Herr ein Opferfest, ein großes Schlachtfest in dem Edomlande.
The swerd of the Lord is fillid of blood, it is maad fat of the ynner fatnesse of the blood of lambren and of buckis of geet, of the blood of rammes ful of merow; for whi the slayn sacrifice of the Lord is in Bosra, and greet sleyng is in the lond of Edom.
7 Wildstiere stürzen dort mit Büffeln, mit jungen Rindern Stiere. Vom Blute wird ihr Land berauscht; ihr Boden starrt von Fett.
And vnycornes schulen go doun with hem, and bolis with hem that ben myyti; the lond of hem schal be fillid with blood, and the erthe of hem with ynnere fatnesse of fatte beestis;
8 So feiert einen Rachetag der Herr und der Vergeltung Jahresfrist bei Sions Feinden.
for it is a dai of veniaunce of the Lord, a yeer of yeldyng of the dom of Sion.
9 Da wandeln seine Bäche sich in Pech, sein Staub in Schwefel; sein Land wird brennend Pech.
And the strondis therof schulen be turned in to pitche, and the erthe therof in to brymstoon; and the lond therof schal be in to brennyng pitch, niyt and dai.
10 Bei Nacht sowie bei Tag verlischt es nicht. Auf ewig steigt sein Qualm empor. Durch alle Zeiten bleibt es öde; nie zieht ein Wandersmann hindurch.
It schal not be quenchid withouten ende, the smoke therof schal stie fro generacioun in to generacioun, and it schal be desolat in to worldis of worldis; noon schal passe therbi.
11 Dort hausen Pelikan und Rohrdommeln; Nachteulen wohnen dort und Raben, und drüber wird der Öde Schnur, der Leere Senkblei ausgespannt.
And onocrotalus, and an irchoun schulen welde it; and a capret, and a crowe schulen dwelle therynne; and a mesure schal be stretchid forth theronne, that it be dryuun to nouyt, and an hangynge plomet in to desolacyoun.
12 Und keiner seiner Edlen ist mehr da, den man zur Herrschaft rufen könnte. All seine Fürsten sind dahin.
The noble men therof schulen not be there; rathere thei schulen clepe the kyng in to help, and alle the princes therof schulen be in to nouyt.
13 Von Dornen werden seine Schlösser überwuchert, von Nesseln, Disteln seine Burgen. Zum Lager dient es den Schakalen, zum Tummelplatz den Straußen.
And thornes and nettlis schulen growe in the housis therof, and a tasil in the strengthis therof; and it schal be the couche of dragouns, and the lesewe of ostrichis.
14 Mit Wölfen streiten wilde Katzen sich um Plätze; Bocksgeister treffen dort einander. Dort herrscht der Nachtgeist, und er findet eine Ruhestatt für sich.

15 Dort heckt die Pfeilschlange; sie legt und brütet aus und hegt es im Versteck. Und Geier sammeln sich daselbst, zu seinesgleichen jegliches Getier.
Lamya schal ligge there, and foond rest there to hir silf; there an irchoun hadde dichis, and nurschide out whelpis, and diggide aboute, and fostride in the schadewe therof; there kitis weren gaderid togidere, oon to another.
16 Befragt das Buch des Herrn und lest! Keins wird von diesen fehlen, kein Spruch vermißt den andern. Der Mund des Herrn hat so befohlen. Sein Geist hat sie versammelt.
Seke ye diligentli in the book of the Lord, and rede ye; oon of tho thingis failide not, oon souyte not another; for he comaundide that thing, that goith forth of my mouth, and his spirit he gaderide tho togidere.
17 Dies gibt er ihnen nun als Los, und seine Hand mißt's ihnen mit der Meßschnur zu. Auf ewig werden sie dies Land behalten, durch alle Zeiten darin wohnen.
