Jesaja 33
1 Dir, Räuber, wehe! Noch nie beraubt! Dir, Plünderer, weh! Noch nie geplündert! Hast du genug geraubt, wirst du beraubt. Hast du genug geplündert, dann wirst du geplündert. -
Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou art weary with dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2 Herr! Sei uns gnädig! Auf Dich, Herr, harren wir. Sei unser Arm allmorgendlich, ja, unsere Hilfe in der Zeit der Not!
O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for Thee; be Thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 Die Völker mögen fliehen vor der Donnerstimme, vor Deiner Hoheit selbst die Heiden auseinanderstieben!
At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of Thyself the nations are scattered.
4 Dann sei das Beutemachen wie das Tun der Heuschrecken, so falle man darüber her!
And your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathereth; as locusts leap do they leap upon it.
5 Erhaben ist der Herr; er wohnt ja in der Höhe; er füllt mit Recht und mit Gerechtigkeit in reichem Maße Sion. -
The LORD is exalted, for He dwelleth on high; He hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 In deinen Unglückszeiten Sicherheit, und deines Glückes reichster Quell sei Weisheit und Erkenntnis! - Die Furcht des Herrn ein reicher Schatz!
And the stability of thy times shall be a hoard of salvation — wisdom and knowledge, and the fear of the LORD which is His treasure.
7 Jetzt aber schreien Führer draußen, und Friedensboten weinen bitterlich.
Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8 Die Straßen sind verödet, die Wanderer verschwunden; man bricht den Bund und gibt auf die Gemeinde nichts und achtet nicht der Menschen.
The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth; he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.
9 In Trauer steht das hingewelkte Land, der Libanon steht fahl und welk, und Saron gleicht der Wüste; Basan und Karmel sind entlaubt.
The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is ashamed, it withereth; Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel are clean bare.
10 "Jetzt will ich aufstehn", spricht der Herr, "jetzt mich erheben, mich ermannen.
Now will I arise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift Myself up.
11 Ihr geht mit dürrem Grase schwanger; gebären sollt ihr dürre Halme. Ein Hauch, ein Feuerhauch soll euch verzehren!
Ye conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble; your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12 Dann werden Völker wie zu Kalk verbrannt, wie abgehackte Dornen in des Feuers Brand.
And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime; as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13 Ihr fernen Völker, höret, was ich tue! Erkennt, ihr nahen, meine Heldenkraft!"
Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge My might.
14 In Sion werden sich die Sünder ängstigen, und Beben wird die Frevler packen. "Wer kann von uns verweilen hier bei diesem Feuer, das so frißt? Wer weilt von uns bei ewigem Brande?"
The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the ungodly: 'Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?'
15 Wer redlich wandelt und Gerades spricht und wer Gewinn von Ausbeutung verschmäht und wer die Hände schüttelt, um Bestechung abzulehnen, und wer sein Ohr verstopft, damit er nicht von einem Mordplan höre, wer seine Augen schließt, damit er seine Lust nicht an dem Bösen habe,
He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil;
16 der wohnt auf sicheren Höhen, und seine Burg sind Felsenschlösser. Dem wird sein Brot zuteil, dem bleibt sein Wasser sicher.
He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given, his waters shall be sure.
17 Dann laben deine Augen sich an der Pracht des Königs; ein Land der Ferne sehen sie.
Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty; they shall behold a land stretching afar.
18 Dein Herz besinnt sich auf die Schreckenszeit: "Wo ist jetzt der, der ehedem gezählt? Wo der, der abgewogen? Wo der, der schon die Türme abgezählt?"
Thy heart shall muse on the terror: 'Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed? Where is he that counted the towers?'
19 Ja, jenes wilde Volk siehst du nicht mehr, das Volk mit dunkler Rede, unverständlich, mit stammelnder, sinnloser Sprache.
Thou shalt not see the fierce people; a people of a deep speech that thou canst not perceive, of a stammering tongue that thou canst not understand.
20 Auf Sion, unsrer Festgezeiten Stadt, schau hin! Hinblicken mögen deine Augen auf Jerusalem, die sichre Heimat! Ein unverrückbar Zelt! Kein Pflock wird fernerhin mehr ausgezogen; kein Strick reißt mehr darin.
Look upon Zion, the city of our solemn gatherings; thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a peaceful habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21 Denn weil für uns ein Mächtiger dort weilt, der Herr, so ist es nun ein Ort, von Flüssen, breiten Strömen rings umflossen, darauf kein Ruderschiff sich wagt; kein stolzes Schiff durchschneidet sie. -
But there the LORD will be with us in majesty, in a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22 Der Herr wird unser Richter sein, der Herr nur unser Fürst, der Herr nur unser König, der uns helfen wird.
For the LORD is our Judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us.
23 Wohl hingen deine Taue schlaff hernieder; sie konnten nicht den Mast in dem Gestelle halten und nicht das Segel spannen. Nunmehr wird reiche Beute ausgeteilt; selbst Lahme können Beute machen.
Thy tacklings are loosed; they do not hold the stand of their mast, they do not spread the sail; then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
24 Und kein Bewohner sagt: "Ich fühle mich erkrankt." Dem Volke, das darinnen wohnt, ist seine Missetat vergeben.
And the inhabitant shall not say: 'I am sick'; the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
