Hebraeer 8

1 Die Hauptsache bei diesen Ausführungen ist aber dies: Wir haben einen Hohenpriester, der sich zur Rechten des Thrones der Majestät im Himmel gesetzt hat

Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

2 als Priester im Heiligtum und an der wahren Stiftshütte, die der Herr und nicht ein Mensch errichtet hat.

a servant of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord set up, and not man.

3 Jeder Hohepriester ist nämlich dazu aufgestellt, daß er Gaben und Opfer darbringe; er muß deshalb auch etwas haben, was er opfern kann.

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.

4 Würde er auf Erden leben, So wäre er ja gar nicht Priester; denn hier sind schon solche, die nach dem Gesetze Gaben darbringen.

Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Law;

5 Sie dienen nur einem Vorbild und einem Schattenriß des Himmlischen; wie denn auch Moses, als er einst das Zelt errichten wollte, so angewiesen ward: "Sieh zu", hieß es, "daß du alles nach dem Vorbild machen lässest, das dir auf dem Berge gezeigt ward!"

who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Mushe was warned when he was about to make the tabernacle, for he said, "See, you shall make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain."

6 Der Dienst jedoch, den Jesus erhielt, ist um so ausgezeichneter, als auch der Bund, den er vermittelt, besser ist; beruht doch dieser auf einer höheren Verheißung.

But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as Law.

7 Denn wäre jener erste tadellos gewesen, so hätte man nicht Platz für einen zweiten gesucht.

For if the first had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

8 Er sagt ja, jene tadelnd: "Siehe, es kommen Tage", spricht der Herr, "wo ich einen neuen Bund schließen will mit dem Hause Israel und mit dem Hause Juda;

For finding fault with them, he said, "Look, the days are coming," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israyel and with the house of Yehudah;

9 nicht so wie jenen Bund, den ich mit ihren Vätern an dem Tage schloß, da ich sie bei der Hand nahm, um sie aus dem Lande Ägypten zu führen. Weil sie meinem Bund nicht treu geblieben waren, habe auch ich mich nicht um sie gekümmert", spricht der Herr.

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them," says the Lord.

10 "Doch dieses soll der Bund nun sein, den ich nach diesen Tagen", spricht der Herr, "mit dem Hause Israel abschließen werde: Mein Gesetz will ich in ihr Inneres legen und ihnen in das Herz es schreiben; ich will ihr Gott sein, und sie sollen mir zum Volke werden.

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israyel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

11 Keiner braucht dann seinen Nächsten und keiner seinen Bruder mehr zu lehren und zu sagen: 'Erkenne doch den Herrn!' Sie alle, klein und groß, werden mich alsdann erkennen.

They will not teach each one his fellow citizen, and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

12 Ich werde ihre Schuld vergeben und ihrer Sünden nimmermehr gedenken."

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins no more."

13 Mit dem Worte "neu" erklärte er den frühern für veraltet. Was aber alt ist und veraltet, das ist reif, daß es vergehe.

In that he says, "new," he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.
