Hesekiel 9
1 Er rief mir dann mit lauter Stimme in die Ohren: "Herbei jetzt mit den Henkern für die Stadt! Die Mordwaffe in eines jeden Hand!"
He cried also, in my hearing, with a loud voice, saying: Bring ye near the punishments of the city, every one his weapon of destruction in his hand.
2 Da sah ich von dem obern Tor sechs Männer kommen, von dem, das gegen Norden sieht, und jeder hatte in der Hand die Mordwaffe. Bei ihnen war ein Mann, gehüllt in Linnen, mit Schreibgeräte an den Hüften. So kamen sie herein und stellten sich dem ehernen Altare gegenüber.
And lo, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which looketh toward the north, every one with his slaughter-weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's ink-horn by his side; and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.
3 Die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels erhob sich von dem Cherub, über dem sie war, begab sich zu des Hauses Schwelle und rief dem Mann im Linnenkleid, der Schreibgeräte an den Hüften trug.
And the glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub upon which it was to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer's ink-horn by his side;
4 Dann sprach der Herr zu ihm: "Zieh mitten durch die Stadt, ja, mitten durch Jerusalem, mach auf der Männer Stirn ein Zeichen, die seufzend jammern all der Greuel wegen, die darin geschehen!"
and Jehovah said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that wail for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.
5 Und zu den übrigen sprach er vor meinen Ohren: "Folgt diesem durch die Stadt! Und schlaget drein! Kein Mitleid habe euer Auge! Gewähret keine Schonung!
And to the others he said, in my hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite! let not your eyes spare, neither have ye pity!
6 Die Greise, Jünglinge, Jungfrauen, Kinder, Weiber bringt um und tilgt sie aus! Doch rührt an keinen, der das Zeichen an sich trägt! Mit meinem Heiligtum beginnt!" Da machten sie den Anfang mit den Ältesten, die vor dem Hause waren.
The old man, the youth, the virgin, little children and women, slay and destroy; but come not near any one upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then began they at the elders that were before the house.
7 Er sprach zu ihnen: "Dieses Haus macht unrein! Füllt mit Erschlagenen die Höfe an! Dann ziehet weiter!" Sie zogen fort von da und schlugen in der Stadt darein.
And he said to them, Pollute the house, and fill the courts with the slain, then go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
8 Nach ihrem Niedermetzeln blieb ich ganz allein zurück; da fiel ich auf mein Antlitz, schrie und sprach: "Ach Herr, o Herr! Vernichtest Du den ganzen Rest von Israel? Ergießest Deinen Grimm Du auf Jerusalem?"
And while they were smiting them, I alone was left; and I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou destroy all the remnant of Israel, while thou pourest out thy fury upon Jerusalem?
9 Er sprach zu mir: "Die Missetat des Hauses Israel und Juda ist zu groß; das Land ist voll von Blutvergehn, die Stadt voll von Bedrückungen. Sie sagen: 'Es hat der Herr das Land verlassen. Der Herr sieht nichts.'
And he said to me: The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness. For they say, “Jehovah hath forsaken the land”; and, “Jehovah seeth not.”
10 So soll denn auch mein Auge ohne Mitleid sein; ich übe keine Schonung mehr, und ich vergelte ihnen ihren Wandel auf den Kopf."
Therefore mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity. Their way will I recompense upon their head.
11 Und siehe da, der Mann, gehüllt in Linnen, mit dem Schreibgerät an seinen Hüften, erstattete hierauf Bericht und sprach: "Ich tat, wie Du mir anbefohlen."
And lo, the man clothed with linen, who had the ink-horn by his side, returned answer, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
