2 Mose 15

1 Damals sang Moses mit den Israeliten dieses Lied dem Herrn. Sie sprachen also: "Dem Herrn will ich lobsingen. Er hat gesiegt, ins Meer gestürzt das Roß und seinen Reiter.

Then, sang Moses, and the sons of Israel, this song unto Yahweh, and they spake, saying, —I will sing to Yahweh, for he is exalted, exalted, —The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.

2 Dem Herrn mein Lobgesang! Zur Rettung ward er mir. So ist mein Gott; ihn preise ich. Ich rühme meines Vaters Gott.

My might and melody, is Yah, And he became mine, by salvation, —This, is my GOD, and I will glorify him, The God of my father and I will set him on high.

3 Der Herr ein Kriegsheld, sein Name Herr.

Yahweh is a warlike one, —Yahweh, is his name.

4 Die Wagen Pharaos und seine Mannen hat er ins Meer geworfen. Ins Schilfmeer tauchten die besten seiner Streiter.

The chariots of Pharaoh and his train, hath he cast into the sea, —Yea, the choice of his warriors, were sunk in the Sedgy Sea.

5 Abgründe deckten sie; sie fuhren in die Strudel wie ein Stein.

Roaring deeps, covered them, —They went down in the raging depths like a stone.

6 Herr, Deine Rechte, an Kraft so herrlich, Herr, Deine Rechte zerschmettert Feinde.

Thy right hand, O Yahweh is splendid in power, —Thy right hand, O Yahweh dasheth in pieces a foe;

7 Mit Deines Zornes Fülle zerschlägst Du Deine Gegner; ausschickst Du Deinen Grimm, er frißt sie wie das Stroh.

And in the greatness of thine exaltation, dost thou tear down thine opposers, —Thou dost send forth thy wrath, it consumeth them as straw;

8 Durch Deines Zornes Hauch schwoll an das Wasser. Wallgleich die Fluten standen, und Abgründe gerannen in Meeres Herzen.

And with the blast of thy nostrils, heaped up are the waters, Upreared like a mound, are the flowing waves, —Roaring deeps are congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 Es sprach der Feind: 'Ich jage nach und hole ein und teile Raub. An ihnen meine Gier sich letze! Mein Schwert zück ich. Sie tilge meine Hand!'

Said the foe—I will pursue—overtake divide spoil, —Take her fill of them—shall my soul, I will bare my sword, root them out—shall my hand.

10 Du bliesest nur mit Deinem Hauche; schon bedeckte sie das Meer. Sie wirbelten wie Blei in die gewaltigen Gewässer.

Thou didst blow with thy wind they were covered by the sea, —They rolled like lead, into the waters so wide.

11 Wer gleicht Dir bei den Göttern, Herr? Wer gleicht Dir, Du Erhabener im Heiligtum, Furchtbarer, Schrecklicher, Du Wunderwirker?

Who is, like unto thee, among the mighty O Yahweh? Who is, like unto thee, Majestic in holiness, —To be revered in praises, Doing a marvellous thing?

12 Du streckst die Rechte aus, und sie verschluckt die Erde.

Thou didst stretch forth thy right hand, earth swallowed them up.

13 Du lenkst mit Deiner Huld das Volk, das Du erlöst. Du leitest es in Deiner Kraft zu Deiner heiligen Wohnstatt hin.

Thou hast led forth in thy lovingkindness, the people which thou hast redeemed, —Thou hast guided them in thy might into the home of thy holiness.

14 Die Völker hören's, zittern, und Angst packt die Bewohner Philistäas.

Peoples have heard they tremble, —A pang, hath seized the dwellers of Philistia:

15 Zusammenschrecken Edoms Fürsten, und Moabs Edelinge faßt Erbeben, und Kanaans Insassen alle zagen.

Then, were amazed the chiefs of Edom, The mighty ones of Moab, there seizeth them, a trembling, —Melted away, have all the dwellers of Canaan:

16 Entsetzen, Schrecken stürzt auf sie; ob Deines Armes Größe erstarren sie zu Stein, bis daß hindurchzieht, Herr, Dein Volk, bis daß hindurchzieht dies Dein Volk, das Du erkauft.

There falleth upon them a terror and dread, With the greatness of thine arm, are they struck dumb as a stone, —Till thy people pass over O Yahweh, Till the people pass over, which thou hast made thine own: —

17 Herbei bringst Du sie selbst und pflanzest sie an jener Stätte ein, die Du zu Deinem Sitze, Herr, bereitet, im Heiligtum, mein Herr, das Deine Hände selbst erstellt.

Thou bringest them in and plantest them, In the mountain of thine inheritance, Thy dwelling-place to abide in which thou hast made, O Yahweh, —A hallowed place O My Lord which thy hands have established.

18 Der Herr ist König immerdar und ewig." -

Yahweh, shall reign unto times age-abiding and beyond.

19 Pharaos Rosse waren ja samt seinen Wagen und Reitern ins Meer geraten, und der Herr brachte über sie des Meeres Gewässer zurück. Die Israeliten aber waren im Trockenen mitten durchs Meer gezogen.

For the horses of Pharaoh, with his chariots and his horsemen, entered into the sea, Then did Yahweh bring back upon them the waters of the sea, —But the sons of Israel, had gone their way on the dry ground through the midst of the sea.

20 Da nahm die Prophetin Mirjam, Aarons Schwester, die Pauke zur Hand, und alle Frauen folgten ihr mit Pauken und Reigentänzen.

Then took Miriam the prophetess, sister of Aaron the timbrel in her hand, —and all the women came forth after her with timbrels and dances,

21 Da sang ihnen Mirjam zu: "Lobsingt dem Herrn! Er ist so hoch und hehr, der Rosse und Reiter gestürzt ins Meer."

And Miriam responded to the men, Sing to Yahweh for he is exalted—exalted, The horse and his rider, hath he cast into the sea.

22 Moses ließ nun Israel vom Schilfmeer aufbrechen. Sie zogen in die Wüste Sur hinein. Drei Tage gingen sie durch die Wüste; sie fanden aber kein Wasser.

And Moses caused Israel to break up from the Red Sea, and they went out into the desert of Shur, —and journeyed three days in the desert and found no water;

23 So kamen sie nach Mara; aber sie konnten in Mara kein Wasser trinken, weil es bitter war; daher hieß es Mara.

and, when they came in towards Marah they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter, —for this cause, was the name thereof called Marah.

24 Da murrte das Volk gegen Moses und sprach: "Was sollen wir trinken?"

So the people murmured against Moses—saying, What are we to drink?

25 Er aber rief zum Herrn. Und der Herr wies ihn auf einen Baum. Davon warf er ins Wasser, und das Wasser ward süß. Dort gab er ihm Gesetz und Recht, und dort prüfte er es.

And he made outcry unto Yahweh, and Yahweh pointed out a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters became sweet, —There, he appointed him a statute and regulation And, there, he put him to the proof.

26 Er sprach: "Hörst du gehorsam auf die Stimme des Herrn, deines Gottes, und tust, was recht ist vor ihm, dann horchst du auf seine Weisungen und hältst all seine Satzungen, dann lege ich dir keines der Leiden auf, die ich Ägypten auferlegt. Ich, der Herr, bin dein Arzt."

And he said: If thou, wilt indeed hearken, to the voice of Yahweh thy God, And the thing that is right in his eyes, thou wilt do, And so give ear to his commandments, And keep all his statutes, None of the sicknesses which I laid on the Egyptians, will I lay upon thee, For, I, am Yahweh, thy physician.

27 Und sie kamen nach Elim. Dort waren zwölf Quellen und siebzig Palmen. Und sie lagerten dort am Wasser.

Then came they in to Elim, and there, were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm-trees, —so they encamped there, by the waters.
