2 Mose 13

1 Da sprach der Herr zu Moses also:

And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

2 "Weihe mir alles Erstgeborene! Was bei den Israeliten den Mutterschoß durchbricht, ist mein, Mensch und Vieh."

'Sanctify unto Me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast, it is Mine.'

3 Und Moses sprach zum Volke: "Feiert zum Gedächtnis diesen Tag, da ihr aus Ägypten, aus dem Sklavenhause, gezogen seid! Mit starker Hand hat euch der Herr von dannen geführt. Also werde nichts Gesäuertes gegessen!

And Moses said unto the people: 'Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place; there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

4 Heute ziehet aus, am Neumond des Abib!

This day ye go forth in the month Abib.

5 Bringt dich der Herr in das Land der Kanaaniter, Chittiter, Amoriter, Chiwiter und Jebusiter, er, der einst deinen Vätern zugeschworen, ein Land, von Milch und Honig fließend, dir zu geben, dann übe diesen Brauch an diesem Neumond!

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

6 Sieben Tage sollst du ungesäuertes Brot essen! Am siebten Tage aber sei ein Fest des Herrn!

Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to the LORD.

7 Ungesäuertes Brot werde die sieben Tage gegessen! Nichts Gesäuertes sei bei dir zu sehen! Kein Sauerteig sei bei dir in deinem ganzen Ortsgebiete zu sehen!

Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders.

8 Aber deinem Sohne vermelde an diesem Tage also: 'Um dessentwillen, was der Herr mir getan beim Auszug aus Ägypten, geschieht dies.'

And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: It is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.

9 Und es sei dir zum Zeichen an der Hand und zum Merkmal zwischen den Augen, damit in deinem Munde sei die Lehre über den Herrn, daß dich der Herr mit starker Hand aus Ägypten geführt!

And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of the LORD may be in thy mouth; for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

10 Und achte diese Satzung zu ihrer Zeit, Jahr für Jahr!

Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.

11 Bringt dich der Herr ins Kanaaniterland, wie er dir zugeschworen und deinen Vätern, und gibt er es dir,

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as He swore unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

12 dann tritt dem Herrn alles ab, was den Mutterschoß durchbricht! Jeder Erstlingswurf des Viehes, das du hast, falls er männlich ist, gehört dem Herrn.

that thou shalt set apart unto the LORD all that openeth the womb; every firstling that is a male, which thou hast coming of a beast, shall be the LORD'S.

13 Doch jeden Erstlingswurf des Esels sollst du mit einem Schafe auslösen und willst du nicht, dann zerbrich ihm das Genick! Bei deinen Kindern aber mußt du jede männliche Erstgeburt auslösen.

And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck; and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.

14 Und fragt dich dein Sohn einmal: 'Was ist das?' dann sprich zu ihm: 'Mit starker Hand hat uns der Herr aus Ägypten geführt, aus dem Frönerhause.

And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying: What is this? that thou shalt say unto him: By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage;

15 Als Pharao sich weigerte, uns freizulassen, tötete der Herr im Lande Ägypten jede Erstgeburt, vom Erstgeborenen des Menschen bis zum Erstlingswurf des Viehs. Darum opfere ich dem Herrn jeden männlichen Erstlingswurf und löse jeden Erstgeborenen meiner Söhne aus.

and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast; therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem.

16 Und dir sei es zum Zeichen an der Hand und zur Marke zwischen den Augen, daß uns der Herr mit starker Hand aus Ägypten geführt hat!'"

And it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes; for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.'

17 Als Pharao das Volk entließ, führte es Gott nicht den Weg nach dem Philisterland, der doch der nächste war. Denn Gott sprach: "Daß es nicht das Volk gereue, wenn es Kämpfe sähe, und dann nach Ägypten wieder wollte!"

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said: 'Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.'

18 So ließ Gott das Volk auf dem Wege zur Wüste am Schilfmeer einschwenken. Die Israeliten aber zogen geordnet aus dem Ägypterland fort.

But God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

19 Und Moses nahm Josephs Gebeine mit sich. Denn dieser hatte die Israeliten eidlich beschworen: "Bedenkt euch einstens Gott, dann nehmt meine Gebeine mit euch!"

And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying: 'God will surely remember you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.'

20 Und sie zogen von Sukkot ab und lagerten sich in Etam am Rand der Wüste.

And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

21 Der Herr aber zog vor ihnen einher, des Tags in einer Wolkensäule, sie den Weg zu leiten, und des Nachts in einer Feuersäule, ihnen zu leuchten, so daß sie Tag und Nacht wandern konnten.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; that they might go by day and by night:

22 Nicht wich vor dem Volke die Wolkensäule bei Tag und die Feuersäule nicht bei Nacht.

the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.
