2 Korinther 5

1 Wir wissen, wenn unsere irdische Zeltwohnung abgebrochen wird, haben wir ein Haus von Gott, eine nicht von Händen hergestellte ewige Wohnung in den Himmeln. (aiōnios g166)

For I know, if this earthly tent of mine were struck, I have a mansion built by God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)

2 Wir seufzen in der Tat voll Verlangen, unsere himmlische Behausung darüber anzuziehen. -

For in this tent I am groaning, earnestly longing to be under the cover of my heavenly habitation; if so be that being so covered,

3 Nur wenn wir diese angezogen haben, dann werden wir nicht nackt erfunden werden. -

I shall not be found naked.

4 Solange wir also in diesem Zelt sind, seufzen wir beklommen, weil wir nicht entkleidet, sondern überkleidet werden möchten, damit das Sterbliche vom Leben verschlungen werde.

For in this tent of mine I am groaning in deep trouble; not that I wish to be unclothed, but to be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up in life.

5 Gott, der uns gerade dazu instand setzt, ist es auch, der uns als Unterpfand den Geist gibt.

And He who has wrought me out for this very end is God, who has given me his Spirit as pledge.

6 Wir sind darum stets guten Mutes, obschon wir wissen, daß, solange wir im Leibe weilen, wir fern vom Herrn sind.

Therefore I am always of good courage, because I well know that while I am at home in the body, I am in banishment from the Lord,

7 Denn noch wandeln wir im Glauben, nicht im Schauen.

for I am walking by faith, not by sight.

8 Wir sind aber guten Mutes und wünschen, lieber aus unserem Leib auszuziehen und beim Herrn daheim zu sein.

So I have good courage, and am well pleased rather, to be in banishment from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

9 Darum setzen wir auch unsere Ehre darein, ihm zu gefallen, sei es im Leib oder außerhalb des Leibes.

And for this reason I also make it home with the Lord.

10 Wir alle müssenja vor dem Richterstuhl Christi erscheinen, damit jeder empfange, was er, sei es Gutes oder Böses, in seinem Leibesleben getan hat.

For we must all be made manifest, in our true characters, before the Judgment-seat of Christ; so that each one may receive according to that which he has done in his body, whether good or evil.

11 Durchdrungen also von der Furcht des Herrn, versuchen wir, die Menschen zu gewinnen. Von Gott sind wir ganz klar durchschaut, und so hoffe ich, daß wir auch in eurem Gewissen klar durchschaut sind.

So, because I know the fear of God, I "persuade men." What I am is manifest to God, and I hope manifest also to your conscience.

12 Wir wollen damit nicht uns wieder selbst empfehlen, vielmehr euch nur Gelegenheit verschaffen, unseretwegen euch zu rühmen, damit ihr jenen entgegnen könnt, die sich ins Antlitz nur und nicht im Herzen rühmen.

I am not "commending myself to you again," but I am giving you an occasion of boasting on my behalf, so that you may have an answer ready for those who boast in externals, and not in the heart.

13 Wenn wir von Sinnen sind, dann ist es für Gott; sind wir bei Verstand, so ist es für euch.

For if I was "beside myself," it was to God; of if I am now "of sound mind," it is for you.

14 Die Liebe Christi hält uns fest in der Erwägung: daß, wenn einer für alle gestorben ist, alle gestorben sind.

For the love of Christ overmasters me; because I thus judge that if One has died for all, then all have died;

15 Und er ist für alle gestorben, damit die Lebenden nicht mehr für sich selber leben, vielmehr für den, der für sie gestorben ist und auferweckt wurde.

and that he died for all in order that the living may live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again for them.

16 So kennen wir von jetzt an niemand mehr dem Fleische nach. Und wenn wir früher Christus dem Fleische nach gekannt haben, so kennen wir ihn jetzt nicht mehr so.

Therefore henceforth I know no one simply as a man - even if I have known Christ as a man, yet now I do so no longer.

17 Wer in Christus ist, ist eine neue Schöpfung; das Alte ist dahin; seht, es wurde Neues.

So there is a new creation when any man is in Christ. The old life has passed away, behold, the new is come.

18 Das alles aber kommt von Gott, der uns durch Christus mit sich versöhnt und den Dienst der Versöhnung uns verliehen hat.

And all this is from God, who through Christ reconciled me to himself, and gave me the ministry of reconciliation;

19 Gott war es, der durch Christus die Welt mit sich versöhnt und ihre Sünden ihr nicht angerechnet und das Wort der Versöhnung in uns gelegt hat.

how that God was in Christ reconciling a world to himself, not reckoning to men their trespasses; and that to me he has entrusted the message of that reconciliation.

20 Wir sind also Gesandte Christi; denn Gott mahnt durch uns; an Christi Stelle bitten wir: Versöhnet euch mit Gott!

On Christ’s behalf, then, I come as ambassador. It is as though God was entreating you, through me, on Christ’s behalf I beg you to be reconciled to God.

21 Er machte den, der von der Sünde nichts gewußt hat, für uns zur Sünde, auf daß wir durch ihn vor Gott Gerechte würden.

Him who knew no sin, in our behalf he has made to be sin; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
