2 Chronik 33

1 Manasse war zwölf Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte fünfundzwanzig Jahre zu Jerusalem.

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem.

2 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, nach den Greueln der Heiden, die der Herr vor den Israeliten vertrieben hatte.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the nations, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

3 Er baute die Höhen wieder, die sein Vater Ezechias zertrümmert hatte, errichtete Altäre für die Baale und machte Ascheren. Auch betete er das ganze Himmelsheer an und diente ihm.

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baalim, and made Asheroth, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

4 Ferner baute er Altäre in des Herrn Haus, von denen der Herr gesagt hatte: "Mein Name wird allzeit in Jerusalem sein."

And he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD said: 'In Jerusalem shall My name be for ever.'

5 Dann baute er Altäre für das ganze Himmelsheer in beiden Vorhöfen im Hause des Herrn.

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

6 Derselbe führte seine Söhne im Hinnomssohntale durchs Feuer, trieb Zauberei, Wahrsagerei und sonstige geheime Künste und bestellte Totenbeschwörer und Zeichendeuter. So tat er vieles, was dem Herrn mißfiel, um ihn zu kränken.

He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practised soothsaying, and used enchantments, and practised sorcery, and appointed them that divined by a ghost or a familiar spirit; he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him.

7 Das Schnitzbild, das er machte, stellte er im Gotteshause auf, von dem Gott zu David und seinem Sohn Salomo gesprochen: "In dieses Haus und in Jerusalem, das ich aus allen Stämmen Israels erwählt, will ich für ewig meinen Namen setzen.

And he set the graven image of the idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son: 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put My name for ever;

8 Und ich versetze nicht mehr Israels Fuß vom Boden, auf den ich eure Väter hingestellt, vorausgesetzt, daß sie sich auch bemühen, all das, was ich ihnen geboten, zu tun, gemäß der ganzen Lehre Mosis und seinen Satzungen und Rechten."

neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers; if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

9 Doch Manasse verführte Juda und Jerusalems Einwohner, daß sie Böses taten, mehr als die Heiden, die der Herr vor den Israeliten vertilgt hatte.

And Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, so that they did evil more than did the nations, whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 Und der Herr redete zu Manasse und seinem Volk. Aber sie achteten nicht darauf.

And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.

11 Da brachte der Herr über sie die Heerführer des Assyrerkönigs. Diese fingen Manasse mit Haken, legten ihn in Ketten und führten ihn nach Babel.

Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

12 Als er in Not gekommen war, suchte er den Herrn, seinen Gott, zu begütigen, und so demütigte er sich tief vor dem Gott seiner Väter.

And when he was in distress, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

13 Er betete zu ihm. Da ließ er sich erbitten. Und er erhörte sein Flehen und brachte ihn wieder nach Jerusalem zurück in sein Reich. Da erkannte Manasse, daß der Herr Gott sei.

And he prayed unto Him; and He was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD He was God.

14 Danach baute er eine äußere Mauer an der Davidsstadt westlich vom Gichon im Tale und bis da, wo man ins Fischtor geht, und rings um den Ophel. Er machte sie sehr hoch. Auch legte er Heeresoberste in alle festen Städte Judas.

Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height; and he put captains of the army in all the fortified cities of Judah.

15 Dann beseitigte er die fremden Götter und das Standbild aus dem Hause des Herrn, ebenso alle Altäre, die er auf dem Berge des Hauses des Herrn und in Jerusalem erbaut hatte. Er warf sie zur Stadt hinaus.

And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

16 Den Altar des Herrn aber richtete er wieder auf und opferte auf ihm Mahl- und Lobopfer. Er befahl Juda, dem Herrn, Israels Gott, zu dienen.

And he built up the altar of the LORD, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace-offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.

17 Doch das Volk opferte noch auf den Höhen, wiewohl nur dem Herrn, ihrem Gott.

Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, but only unto the LORD their God.

18 Der Rest der Geschichte Manasses und sein Gebet zu seinem Gott, wie die Worte der Seher, die zu ihm im Namen des Herrn, des Gottes Israels, gesprochen, stehen in der Geschichte der Könige Israels.

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.

19 Sein Gebet und seine Erhörung, all seine Sünde und Untreue, und die Orte, wo er Höhen gebaut und die Ascheren mit Schnitzbildern aufgestellt, bevor er sich demütigte, sind aufgezeichnet in der Geschichte seiner Seher.

His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his transgression, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the graven images, before he humbled himself; behold, they are written in the history of the seers.

20 Und Manasse legte sich zu seinen Vätern. Man begrub ihn in seinem Hause, und sein Sohn Amon wurde König an seiner Statt.

So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

21 Amon war zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte in Jerusalem zwei Jahre.

Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

22 Er tat, was dem Herrn mißfiel, wie sein Vater Manasse getan. Amon opferte allen Schnitzbildern, die sein Vater gemacht, und diente ihnen.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed unto all the graven images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

23 Aber er demütigte sich nicht vor dem Herrn, wie sich sein Vater Manasse verdemütigt hatte, sondern dieser Amon machte die Schuld noch größer.

And he humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon became guilty more and more.

24 Da verschworen sich seine Diener gegen ihn und töteten ihn in seinem Hause.

And his servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

25 Doch das Landvolk erschlug alle, die sich gegen den König Amon verschworen hatten. Dann machte das Landvolk seinen Sohn Josias zum König an seiner Statt.

But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
