2 Chronik 30

1 Hierauf sandte Ezechias an ganz Israel und Juda. Auch schrieb er Briefe an Ephraim und Manasse, sie möchten zum Hause des Herrn nach Jerusalem kommen, das Passah dem Herrn, Israels Gott, zu halten.

And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.

2 Und der König beschloß mit seinen Fürsten und der ganzen Gemeinde in Jerusalem, das Passah im zweiten Monat zu feiern.

For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.

3 Denn sie hatten es nicht rechtzeitig halten können, weil sich die Priester nicht genügend geheiligt hatten. Auch das Volk war noch nicht in Jerusalem versammelt.

For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.

4 Da gefiel es dem König und der ganzen Gemeinde, festzusetzen,

And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.

5 daß in ganz Israel von Beerseba bis Dan verkündet werde, man solle kommen, dem Herrn, Israels Gott, zu Jerusalem Passah zu halten. Denn sie hatten es nicht gebührend nach Vorschrift gehalten.

So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beer-sheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done [it] of a long [time in such sort] as it was written.

6 Da durchzogen die Läufer mit den Briefen von der Hand des Königs und seiner Fürsten ganz Israel und Juda und kündeten auf des Königs Befehl: "Ihr Israeliten! Bekehrt euch zu dem Herrn, dem Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Israels, auf daß er sich zu den Entronnenen wende, die euch aus der Hand der Assyrerkönige geblieben sind!

So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 Seid nicht wie eure Väter und Brüder, die dem Herrn, dem Gott ihrer Väter, untreu geworden waren, so daß er sie zum Entsetzen machte, wie ihr seht!

And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, [who] therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.

8 Seid jetzt nicht halsstarrig wie eure Väter! Reicht dem Herrn die Hand und kommt in sein Heiligtum, das er für immer geweiht hat. Dient dem Herrn, eurem Gott, daß sich sein grimmer Zorn von euch wende!

Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers [were, but] yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.

9 Denn, kehrt ihr zum Herrn, so finden eure Brüder und Söhne Erbarmen bei ihren Kerkermeistern und dürfen wieder in ihr Land kehren. Denn gnädig und barmherzig ist der Herr, euer Gott. Er verbirgt nicht vor euch sein Antlitz, wenn ihr zu ihm umkehrt."

For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children [shall find] compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God [is] gracious and merciful, and will not turn away [his] face from you, if ye return unto him.

10 Die Läufer zogen nun von Stadt zu Stadt durch das Land Ephraim und Manasse und bis nach Zabulon. Aber man verlachte und verspottete sie.

So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.

11 Nur ein paar Männer von Asser, Manasse und Zabulon hatten sich gedemütigt, und so kamen sie nach Jerusalem.

Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.

12 Aber über Juda kam Gottes Hand. Er gab ihnen einen Sinn, das Gebot des Königs und der Fürsten nach des Herrn Wort zu befolgen.

Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

13 So versammelte sich zu Jerusalem zahlreiches Volk, das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote im zweiten Monat zu feiern, eine überaus große Gemeinde.

And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.

14 Sie machten sich auf und beseitigten die Altäre zu Jerusalem. Auch alle Räucheraltäre beseitigten sie, dann warfen sie sie in den Kidronbach.

And they arose and took away the altars that [were] in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast [them] into the brook Kidron.

15 Dann schlachteten sie das Passah am vierzehnten Tage des zweiten Monats. Die Priester aber und die Leviten schämten sich. Und so heiligten sie sich und brachten Brandopfer zum Hause des Herrn.

Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth [day] of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.

16 Dann standen sie auf ihrer Stelle nach ihrer Vorschrift, nach der Lehre des Gottesmannes Moses. Und die Priester sprengten das Blut aus der Hand der Leviten.

And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, [which they received] of the hand of the Levites.

17 Denn viele in der Gemeinde hatten sich nicht geheiligt. So besorgten die Leviten das Schlachten der Passahlämmer für jeden Unreinen, um sie dem Herrn zu weihen.

For [there were] many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one [that was] not clean, to sanctify [them] unto the LORD.

18 Denn die große Menge des Volkes, viele aus Ephraim, Manasse, Issakar und Zabulon, hatten sich nicht gereinigt und das Passah nicht nach Vorschrift verzehrt. Ezechias aber hatte also für sie gebetet: "Verzeihen möge jeglichem der Herr, der Gütige,

For a multitude of the people, [even] many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one

19 wenn er den Sinn darauf gerichtet, Gott, den Herrn, und seiner Väter Gott, zu suchen, auch ohne Reinheit für das Heiligtum!"

[That] prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though [he be] not [cleansed] according to the purification of the sanctuary.

20 Und der Herr erhörte Ezechias und verschonte das Volk.

And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

21 So feierten die Israeliten zu Jerusalem das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote sieben Tage mit großer Freude. Tag für Tag priesen die Leviten und Priester den Herrn mit aller Macht.

And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, [singing] with loud instruments unto the LORD.

22 Ezechias aber sprach zum Herzen aller Leviten, die sich dem Herrn gegenüber gut benahmen. Und sie hielten das Fest sieben Tage durch. Sie schlachteten Mahlopfer und priesen den Herrn, ihrer Väter Gott.

And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.

23 Und die ganze Gemeinde beschloß, noch weitere sieben Tage zu feiern. Und so feierten sie sieben Tage ein Freudenfest.

And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept [other] seven days with gladness.

24 Denn Ezechias, Judas König, spendete der Gemeinde tausend Farren und siebentausend Schafe als Gabe; auch die Fürsten spendeten der Gemeinde tausend Farren und zehntausend Schafe. Und die Priester heiligten sich in Menge.

For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

25 So freute sich die ganze Gemeinde Judas, die Priester und Leviten, ebenso die ganze Gemeinde derer, die aus dem Land Israel gekommen waren, sowie die Fremdlinge, die aus dem Land Israel kamen und die in Juda wohnten.

And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.

26 Große Freude war in Jerusalem. Denn seit den Tagen Salomos, des Davidsohnes und Königs von Israel, war derartiges nicht mehr in Jerusalem gewesen.

So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel [there was] not the like in Jerusalem.

27 Die levitischen Priester standen auf und segneten das Volk. Und ihre Stimme ward erhört. Ihr Gebet kam zu seinem heiligen Wohnsitz, zum Himmel.

Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came [up] to his holy dwelling place, [even] unto heaven.
