1 Chronik 18

1 Danach schlug David die Philister und demütigte sie. Er nahm Gat mit seinen Tochterorten den Philistern weg.

Forsothe it was doon aftir these thingis, that Dauid smoot Filisteis, and made hem lowe, and took awey Geth and vilagis therof fro the hond of Filisteis;

2 Dann schlug er Moab, und die Moabiter wurden David untertan und brachten Gaben.

and that he smoot Moab; and Moabitis weren maad seruauntis of Dauid, and brouyten yiftis to hym.

3 Hierauf schlug David den König von Soba, Hadarezer, gegen Hamat zu, als er daranging, seine Macht am Euphratstrome aufzurichten.

In that tyme Dauid smoot also Adadezer, kyng of Soba, of the cuntrey of Emath, whanne he yede for to alarge his empire til to the flood Eufrates.

4 David nahm ihm 1.000 Wagen, 7.000 Reiter und 20.000 Mann Fußvolk weg. Alle Rosse lähmte David. Nur 100 Rossewagen ließ er übrig.

Therfor Dauid took a thousynde foure horsid cartis of his, and seuene thousynde of horsmen, and twenti thousynde of foot men; and he hoxide alle the horsis of charis, outakun an hundrid foure horsid cartis, whiche he kepte to hym silf.

5 Da kamen die damaszenischen Aramäer dem König von Soba, Hadarezer, zu Hilfe. Aber David schlug die Aramäer, 22.000 Mann.

Forsothe also Sirus of Damask cam aboue, to yyue help to Adadezer, kyng of Soba, but Dauid smoot also of hise two and twenti thousynde of men;

6 Dann setzte David im damaszenischen Aram Vögte ein. So wurden die Aramäer David untertan und steuerpflichtig. Der Herr half David überall, wohin er zog.

and he settide kniytis in Damask, that Sirie also schulde serue hym, and brynge yiftis. And the Lord helpide hym in alle thingis to whiche he yede.

7 David nahm auch die goldenen Schilde, die Hadarezers Knechte trugen, und brachte sie nach Jerusalem.

And Dauid took goldun arowe caasis, whiche the seruauntis of Adadezer hadden, and he brouyte tho in to Jerusalem;

8 Aus Tibchat und Kun, Hadarezers Städten, holte David sehr viel Erz. Daraus machte Salomo das eherne Meer, die Säulen und die ehernen Geräte.

also and of Thebath and of Chum, the citees of Adadezer, he took ful myche of bras, wherof Salomon made the brasun see, `that is, waischynge vessel, and pileris, and brasun vessels.

9 Da hörte Hamats König Tou, David habe die ganze Streitmacht Hadarezers, des Königs von Soba, geschlagen.

And whanne Thou, kyng of Emath, hadde herd this thing, `that is, that Dauid hadde smyte al the oost of Adadezer, kyng of Soba,

10 So sandte er nun seinen Sohn Hadoram zu König David, ihn zu begrüßen und zu beglückwünschen wegen seines siegreichen Kampfes mit Hadarezer. Denn Hadarezer war Tous Kriegsgegner. Er sandte auch allerlei goldene, silberne und eherne Gegenstände.

he sente Aduram, his sone, to Dauid the kyng, for to axe of hym pees, and for to thanke hym, for he hadde ouercome and hadde smyte Adadezer; for whi king Adadezer was aduersarie of Thou.

11 Auch sie weihte König David dem Herrn samt dem Silber und Gold, das er von den Heiden weggeführt hatte, von Edom, Moab, den Söhnen Ammons, den Philistern und den Amalekitern.

But also kyng Dauid halewide to the Lord alle the vessels of gold, and of siluer, and of bras; and the siluer, and the gold, which the kyng hadde take of alle folkis, as wel of Idumee and Moab, and of the sones of Amon, as of Filisteis and Amalech.

12 Serujas Sohn, Absai, aber hatte Edom, 18.000 Mann, im Salztal geschlagen.

Forsothe Abisai, the sone of Saruye, smoot Edom in the valei of salt pittis, `ten and eiyte thousynde.

13 Er setzte in Edom Vögte ein, und ganz Edom ward David untertan. Und der Herr half David überall, wohin er kam.

And he settide strong hold in Edom, that Ydumei schulde serue Dauid. And the Lord sauide Dauid in alle thingis, to whiche he yede.

14 So regierte David ganz Israel und übte Recht und Gerechtigkeit an seinem ganzen Volk.

Therfor Dauid regnede on al Israel, and dide doom and riytwisnesse to al his puple.

15 Joab, Serujas Sohn, war über das Heer gesetzt. Achiluds Sohn Josaphat war Kanzler,

16 Sadok, Achitubs Sohn, und Ebjatars Sohn Abimelek waren Priester und Savsa Schreiber.

forsothe Sadoch, the sone of Achitob, and Achymalech, the sone of Abyathar, weren preestis; and Susa was scribe;

17 Benjahu, Jojadas Sohn, befehligte die Bogenschützen und die Schildträger. Davids Söhne aber waren die Ersten um den König.

and Banaye, the sone of Joiada, was on the legiouns Cerethi and Phelethi; sotheli the sones of Dauid weren the firste at the hond of the kyng.
