Jeremia 43

1 Und es geschah, als Jeremia zu dem ganzen Volke alle Worte Jehovas, ihres Gottes, zu Ende geredet, womit ihn Jehova, ihr Gott, zu ihnen gesandt hatte, alle jene Worte,

It happened that, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, with which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

2 da sprachen Asarja, der Sohn Hoschajas, und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle frechen Männer, sie sprachen zu Jeremia: Du redest Lügen! Jehova, unser Gott, hat dich nicht gesandt und gesagt: Ihr sollt nicht nach Ägypten ziehen, um euch daselbst aufzuhalten;

then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, "You speak falsely. Jehovah our God has not sent you to say, 'You shall not go into Egypt to live there';

3 sondern Baruk, der Sohn Nerijas, hetzt dich wider uns auf, um uns in die Hand der Chaldäer zu liefern, damit sie uns töten und uns nach Babel wegführen. -

but Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon."

4 Und so hörten Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Heerobersten und das ganze Volk nicht auf die Stimme Jehovas, im Lande Juda zu bleiben.

So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, did not obey the voice of Jehovah, to dwell in the land of Judah.

5 Und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Heerobersten nahmen den ganzen Überrest von Juda, welche aus allen Nationen, wohin sie vertrieben worden, zurückgekehrt waren, um sich im Lande Juda aufzuhalten:

But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah;

6 Die Männer und die Weiber und die Kinder und die Königstöchter, und alle Seelen, welche Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, bei Gedalja, dem Sohne Achikams, des Sohnes Schaphans, zurückgelassen hatte, und auch den Propheten Jeremia und Baruk, den Sohn Nerijas;

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;

7 und sie zogen nach Ägypten, denn sie hörten nicht auf die Stimme Jehovas. Und sie kamen nach Tachpanches.

and they came into the land of Egypt; for they did not obey the voice of Jehovah: and they came to Tahpanhes.

8 Und das Wort Jehovas geschah zu Jeremia in Tachpanches also:

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

9 Nimm große Steine in deine Hand und senke sie in Mörtel ein am Ziegelofen, der bei dem Eingang des Hauses des Pharao in Tachpanches ist, vor den Augen der jüdischen Männer;

"Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick work, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

10 und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jehova der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich sende hin und hole Nebukadrezar, den König von Babel, meinen Knecht, und setze seinen Thron über diese Steine, die ich eingesenkt habe; und er wird seinen Prachtteppich über ihnen ausbreiten.

and tell them, 'Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: "Look, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

11 Und er wird kommen und das Land Ägypten schlagen: Wer zum Tode bestimmt ist, gehe zum Tode; und wer zur Gefangenschaft, zur Gefangenschaft; und wer zum Schwerte, zum Schwerte.

He shall come, and shall strike the land of Egypt; such as are for death shall be put to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.

12 Und ich werde ein Feuer anzünden in den Häusern der Götter Ägyptens, und er wird sie verbrennen und sie wegführen. Und er wird das Land Ägypten um sich wickeln, wie der Hirt sein Oberkleid um sich wickelt; und er wird von dannen ziehen in Frieden.

I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace.

13 Und er wird die Säulen von Beth-Semes, welche im Lande Ägypten sind, zerschlagen, und die Häuser der Götter Ägyptens mit Feuer verbrennen.

He shall also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire."'"
