Hesekiel 19
1 Und du, erhebe ein Klagelied über die Fürsten Israels und sprich:
"Moreover, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2 Welch eine Löwin war deine Mutter! Zwischen Löwen lagerte sie, unter jungen Löwen zog sie ihre Jungen groß.
and say, 'What was your mother? A lioness: she couched among lions, in the midst of the young lions she nourished her cubs.
3 Und sie zog eines von ihren Jungen auf, es wurde ein junger Löwe; und er lernte Raub rauben, er fraß Menschen.
She brought up one of her cubs: he became a young lion, and he learned to catch the prey; he devoured men.
4 Und die Völker hörten von ihm, in ihrer Grube wurde er gefangen; und sie brachten ihn mit Nasenringen in das Land Ägypten.
The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit; and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.
5 Und als sie sah, daß ihre Hoffnung dahin, verloren war, da nahm sie ein anderes von ihren Jungen, machte es zu einem jungen Löwen.
"'Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her cubs, and made him a young lion.
6 Und es wandelte unter Löwen, wurde ein junger Löwe; und er lernte Raub rauben, er fraß Menschen.
He went up and down among the lions; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch the prey; he devoured men.
7 Und er zerstörte ihre Paläste, verheerte ihre Städte; und das Land und seine Fülle entsetzte sich vor der Stimme seines Gebrülls.
He devastated their strongholds, and destroyed their cities; and the land was desolate, and its fullness, because of the noise of his roaring.
8 Da stellten sich gegen ihn die Völker ringsum aus den Landschaften; und sie breiteten ihr Netz über ihn aus, in ihrer Grube wurde er gefangen.
Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces; and they spread their net over him; he was taken in their pit.
9 Und sie setzten ihn mit Nasenringen in den Käfig und brachten ihn zu dem König von Babel; sie brachten ihn in eine der Festen, auf daß seine Stimme nicht mehr gehört würde auf den Bergen Israels.
They put him in a cage with hooks, and brought him to the king of Babylon; they brought him into strongholds, that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.
10 Deine Mutter war wie ein Weinstock, gleich dir an Wassern gepflanzt; von vielen Wassern wurde er fruchtbar und voll Ranken.
"'Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard, planted by the waters: it was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11 Und er bekam starke Zweige zu Herrscherzeptern, und sein Wuchs erhob sich bis zwischen die Wolken; und er wurde sichtbar durch seine Höhe, durch die Menge seiner Äste.
It had strong rods for the scepters of those who bore rule, and their stature was exalted among the thick boughs, and they were seen in their height with the multitude of their branches.
12 Da wurde er ausgerissen im Grimm, zu Boden geworfen, und der Ostwind dörrte seine Frucht; seine starken Zweige wurden abgerissen und dürr, Feuer verzehrte sie.
But it was plucked up in fury, it was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up its fruit: its strong rods were broken off and withered; the fire consumed them.
13 Und nun ist er in die Wüste gepflanzt, in ein dürres und durstiges Land.
Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.
14 Und ein Feuer ist ausgegangen vom Gezweige seiner Ranken, hat seine Frucht verzehrt; und an ihm ist kein starker Zweig mehr, kein Zepter zum Herrschen. Das ist ein Klagelied und wird zum Klageliede.
Fire is gone out of the rods of its branches, it has devoured its fruit, so that there is in it no strong rod to be a scepter to rule.' This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation."
