1 Und Salomo fing an, das Haus Jehovas zu bauen in Jerusalem, auf dem Berge Morija, wo er seinem Vater David erschienen war, an dem Orte, den David bereitet hatte, auf der Tenne Ornans, des Jebusiters.
Then Solomon began to build the house of Yahweh at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where Yahweh had appeared to David his father. He prepared the place that David had planned for it, at the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Und er fing an zu bauen im zweiten Monat, am zweiten Tage, im vierten Jahre seiner Regierung.
He began to build on the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
3 Und dies war die Grundlage, welche Salomo zum Bau des Hauses Gottes legte: die Länge, nach dem früheren Ellenmaß, sechzig Ellen, und die Breite zwanzig Ellen. -
Now these are the dimensions of the foundation that Solomon laid for the house of God. Using the old style cubit, the length was sixty cubits, and the width was twenty cubits.
4 Und die Halle, welche der Länge nach vor der Breite des Hauses war, zwanzig Ellen, und die Höhe hundertundzwanzig; und er überzog sie inwendig mit reinem Golde.
The length of the portico at the front of the house was twenty cubits, matching the building's width. Its height was also twenty cubits, and Solomon overlaid its interior with pure gold.
5 Und das große Haus bekleidete er mit Zypressenholz, und bekleidete es mit gutem Golde; und er brachte Palmen und Ketten darauf an.
He fashioned the ceiling of the main hall with cypress, which he overlaid with fine gold, and which he carved with palm trees and chains.
6 Und er überzog das Haus mit kostbaren Steinen zum Schmuck; das Gold aber war Gold von Parwaim.
He decorated the house with precious stones; the gold was gold from Parvaim.
7 Und er bekleidete das Haus, die Balken der Decke, die Schwellen und seine Wände und seine Türflügel mit Gold; und er schnitzte Cherubim ein an den Wänden.
He also overlaid its beams, thresholds, walls, and doors with gold; he carved cherubs on its walls.
8 Und er machte das Haus des Allerheiligsten. Seine Länge, vor der Breite des Hauses her, war zwanzig Ellen, und seine Breite zwanzig Ellen; und er bekleidete es mit gutem Golde, an sechshundert Talente.
He built the most holy place. Its length matched the house's width, twenty cubits, and its width was also twenty cubits. He overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
9 Und das Gewicht der Nägel war an fünfzig Sekel Gold. Auch die Obergemächer bekleidete er mit Gold.
The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid its high surfaces with gold.
10 Und er machte im Hause des Allerheiligsten zwei Cherubim, ein Werk von Bildhauerarbeit; und man überzog sie mit Gold.
He made two images of cherubs for the most holy place; craftsmen overlaid them with gold.
11 Und die Flügel der Cherubim, ihre Länge war zwanzig Ellen: der Flügel des einen, von fünf Ellen, rührte an die Wand des Hauses; und der andere Flügel, von fünf Ellen, rührte an den Flügel des anderen Cherubs;
The wings of the cherubs were twenty cubits long all together; the wing of one cherub was five cubits long, reaching to the wall of the room; the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
12 und der Flügel des anderen Cherubs, von fünf Ellen, rührte an die Wand des Hauses; und der andere Flügel, von fünf Ellen, stieß an den Flügel des einen Cherubs.
The wing of the other cherub was also five cubits, reaching to the wall of the room; its other wing was also five cubits, touching the wing of the first cherub.
13 Die Flügel dieser Cherubim maßen ausgebreitet zwanzig Ellen; und sie selbst standen auf ihren Füßen, und ihre Angesichter waren dem Hause zugewandt.
The wings of these cherubs spread a total of twenty cubits. The cherubs stood on their feet, with their faces toward the main hall.
14 Und er machte den Vorhang von blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und Byssus, und brachte Cherubim darauf an.
He made the curtain of blue, purple, and crimson wool and fine linen, and he fashioned cherubs on it.
15 Und er machte vor dem Hause zwei Säulen, fünfunddreißig Ellen die Länge; und das Kapitäl, das auf ihrer Spitze war, maß fünf Ellen.
Solomon also made two pillars, each thirty-five cubits high, for in front of the house; the capitals that were on the top of them were five cubits high.
16 Und er machte Ketten im Sprachorte und tat sie an die Spitze der Säulen; und er machte hundert Granatäpfel und tat sie an die Ketten.
He made chains for the pillars and put them on top of them; he also made one hundred pomegranates and joined them to the chains.
17 Und er richtete die Säulen vor dem Tempel auf, eine zur Rechten und eine zur Linken; und er gab der rechten den Namen Jakin, und der linken den Namen Boas.
He set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; he named the pillar on the right Jakin, and the pillar on the left Boaz.
