2 Chronik 16
1 Im sechsunddreißigsten Jahre der Regierung Asas zog Baesa, der König von Israel, wider Juda herauf; und er baute Rama, um Asa, dem König von Juda, niemand aus-und eingehen zu lassen.
In the thirty-sixth year of Asa's reign, Baasha, king of Israel, acted aggressively against Judah and built up Ramah, so that he might not allow anyone to leave or enter into the land of Asa, king of Judah.
2 Da brachte Asa Silber und Gold heraus aus den Schätzen des Hauses Jehovas und des Hauses des Königs; und er sandte zu Ben-Hadad, dem König von Syrien, der zu Damaskus wohnte, und ließ ihm sagen:
Then Asa brought the silver and gold out of the storerooms in the house of Yahweh and of the king's house, and sent it to Ben Hadad king of Aram, who lived in Damascus. He said,
3 Ein Bund ist zwischen mir und dir und zwischen meinem Vater und deinem Vater. Siehe, ich sende dir Silber und Gold; wohlan! Brich deinen Bund mit Baesa, dem König von Israel, daß er von mir abziehe.
“Let there be a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Look, I have sent to you silver and gold. Break your covenant with Baasha, king of Israel, so that he may leave me alone.”
4 Und Ben-Hadad hörte auf den König Asa, und er sandte seine Heerobersten wider die Städte Israels; und sie schlugen Ijon und Dan und Abel-Majim und alle Vorratsplätze der Städte Naphtalis.
Ben Hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
5 Und es geschah, als Baesa es hörte, da ließ er von dem Bau Ramas ab und stellte seine Arbeit ein.
It came about that when Baasha heard this, he stopped building up Ramah, and let his work cease.
6 Der König Asa aber nahm ganz Juda, und sie schafften die Steine Ramas und dessen Holz weg, womit Baesa gebaut hatte; und er baute damit Geba und Mizpa.
Then Asa the king took all Judah with him. They carried away the stones and timbers of Ramah with which Baasha had been building up the city. Then King Asa used that building material to build up Geba and Mizpah.
7 Und zu selbiger Zeit kam Hanani, der Seher, zu Asa, dem König von Juda, und sprach zu ihm: Weil du dich auf den König von Syrien gestützt hast, und hast dich nicht auf Jehova, deinen Gott, gestützt, darum ist das Heer des Königs von Syrien deiner Hand entronnen.
At that time Hanani the seer went to Asa, king of Judah, and said to him, “Because you have relied on the king of Aram, and have not relied on Yahweh your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped out of your hand.
8 Waren nicht die Kuschiter und die Libyer eine zahlreiche Heeresmacht, mit Wagen und Reitern in großer Menge? Aber weil du dich auf Jehova stütztest, gab er sie in deine Hand.
Were not the Cushites and the Libyans a huge army, with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on Yahweh, he gave you victory over them.
9 Denn Jehovas Augen durchlaufen die ganze Erde, um sich mächtig zu erweisen an denen, deren Herz ungeteilt auf ihn gerichtet ist. Hierin hast du töricht gehandelt; denn von nun an wirst du Kriege haben.
For the eyes of Yahweh run everywhere throughout the whole earth, so that he might show himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are perfect toward him. But you have acted foolishly in this matter. From now on, you will have war.”
10 Und Asa wurde ärgerlich über den Seher und legte ihn in das Stockhaus; denn er war dieserhalb gegen ihn erzürnt. Auch tat Asa zu selbiger Zeit etlichen von dem Volke Gewalt an.
Then Asa was angry with the seer; he put him into prison, for he was angry with him over this matter. At the same time, Asa oppressed some of the people.
11 Und siehe, die Geschichte Asas, die erste und die letzte, siehe, sie ist geschrieben in dem Buche der Könige von Juda und Israel.
Behold, the deeds of Asa, from first to last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 Und im neununddreißigsten Jahre seiner Regierung erkrankte Asa an seinen Füßen, so daß er überaus krank war; aber auch in seiner Krankheit suchte er nicht Jehova, sondern die Ärzte.
In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was very severe, he did not seek help from Yahweh, but only from the physicians.
13 Und Asa legte sich zu seinen Vätern; und er starb im einundvierzigsten Jahre seiner Regierung.
So Asa slept with his ancestors, dying in the forty-first year of his reign.
14 Und man begrub ihn in seinem Begräbnis, das er sich in der Stadt Davids gegraben hatte. Und man legte ihn auf ein Lager, das man gefüllt hatte mit Gewürz und Spezereien, gemischt nach der Kunst der Salbenmischung; und man veranstaltete für ihn einen sehr großen Brand.
They buried him in his own tomb, which he had dug out for himself in the city of David. They laid him on a bier that was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by skilled perfumers. Then they made a very great fire in his honor.
