4 Dein Hals ist wie der Turm Davids, der in Terrassen [O. für Kriegsscharen] gebaut ist: tausend Schilde hängen daran, alle Schilde der Helden.
Your neck is like the tower of David, which was built with ramparts: a thousand shields are hanging from it, all the armor of the strong.
5 Deine beiden Brüste sind wie ein Zwillingspaar junger Gazellen, die unter den Lilien weiden. -
Your two breasts are like two young does, twins that pasture among the lilies.
6 Bis der Tag sich kühlt und die Schatten fliehen, will ich zum Myrrhenberge hingehen und zum Weihrauchhügel. -

An enclosed garden is my sister, my spouse: an enclosed garden, a sealed fountain.
13 Was dir entsproßt, ist ein Lustgarten von Granaten nebst edlen Früchten, Cyperblumen nebst Narden;
You send forth a paradise of pomegranates along with the fruits of the orchard: Cypress grapes, with aromatic oil;
14 Narde und Safran, Würzrohr und Zimt, nebst allerlei Weihrauchgehölz, Myrrhe und Aloe nebst allen vortrefflichsten Gewürzen;
aromatic oil and saffron; sweet cane and cinnamon, with all the trees of Lebanon; myrrh and aloe, with all the best ointments.
15 eine Gartenquelle, ein Brunnen lebendigen Wassers, und Bäche, die vom Libanon fließen." -
The fountain of the gardens is a well of living waters, which flow forcefully from Lebanon.
16 Wache auf, Nordwind, und komm, Südwind: durchwehe meinen Garten, laß träufeln seine Wohlgerüche! Mein Geliebter komme in seinen Garten und esse die ihm köstliche Frucht. -
