Matthaeus 28
1 Aber spät am Sabbath, in der Dämmerung des ersten Wochentages, kam Maria Magdalene und die andere Maria, um das Grab zu besehen.
After (the Sabbath/the Jewish day of rest) [ended], on Sunday morning at dawn, Mary from Magdala and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 Und siehe, da geschah ein großes Erdbeben; denn ein Engel des Herrn kam aus dem Himmel hernieder, trat hinzu, wälzte den Stein weg und setzte sich darauf.
Suddenly there was a strong earthquake. [At the same time] an angel from God came down from heaven. He [went to the tomb and] rolled the stone away [from the entrance so that everyone could see that the tomb was empty]. Then he sat on the stone.
3 Sein Ansehen aber war wie der Blitz, und sein Kleid weiß wie Schnee.
His appearance was [as bright] [SIM] as lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow.
4 Aber aus Furcht vor ihm bebten die Hüter und wurden wie Tote.
The guards shook because they were very afraid. Then they became [completely motionless], as though they were dead.
5 Der Engel aber hob an und sprach zu den Weibern: Fürchtet ihr euch nicht, denn ich weiß, daß ihr Jesum, den Gekreuzigten, suchet.
The angel said to the two women, “You should not be afraid! I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was {whom they} (nailed to a cross/crucified).
6 Er ist nicht hier, denn er ist auferstanden, wie er gesagt hat. Kommet her, sehet die Stätte, wo der Herr gelegen hat,
He is not here! [God] has (caused him to be alive again/raised him [from the dead]), just like [Jesus] told you [would happen!] Come and see the place where his body lay!
7 und gehet eilends hin und saget seinen Jüngern, daß er von den Toten auferstanden ist; und siehe, er geht vor euch hin nach Galiläa, daselbst werdet ihr ihn sehen. Siehe, ich habe es euch gesagt.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead! He will go ahead of you to Galilee [district]. You will see him there.’ [Pay attention to what] I have told you!”
8 Und sie gingen eilends von der Gruft hinweg mit Furcht und großer Freude, und liefen, es seinen Jüngern zu verkünden.
So the women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they were [also] very joyful. They ran to tell us disciples [what had happened].
9 Als sie aber hingingen, es seinen Jüngern zu verkünden, siehe, da kam Jesus ihnen entgegen und sprach: Seid gegrüßt! Sie aber traten herzu, umfaßten seine Füße und huldigten ihm.
Suddenly, [as they were running], Jesus appeared to them. He said, “Greetings!” The women came close to him. They knelt down and clasped his feet and worshipped him.
10 Da spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht; gehet hin, verkündet meinen Brüdern, daß sie hingehen nach Galiläa, und daselbst werden sie mich sehen.
Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid! Go and tell (all my disciples/all those who have been accompanying me) that they should go to Galilee. They will see me there.”
11 Während sie aber hingingen, siehe, da kamen etliche von der Wache in die Stadt und verkündeten den Hohenpriestern alles, was geschehen war.
While the women were going, some of the soldiers who had been guarding [the tomb] went into the city. They reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.
12 Und sie versammelten sich mit den Ältesten und hielten Rat; und sie gaben den Soldaten Geld genug
So the chief priests and Jewish elders met together. They made a plan [to explain why the tomb was empty]. They gave the soldiers a lot of money [as a bribe].
13 und sagten: Sprechet: Seine Jünger kamen bei Nacht und stahlen ihn, während wir schliefen.
They said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole his [body] while we were sleeping.’
14 Und wenn dies dem Landpfleger zu Ohren kommen sollte, so werden wir ihn zufriedenstellen und machen, daß ihr ohne Sorge seid.
If the governor hears [MTY] about this, we ourselves will make sure that he does not get angry [and punish you]. [So you will not have to worry].”
15 Sie aber nahmen das Geld und taten, wie sie unterrichtet worden waren. Und diese Rede ist bei den Juden ruchbar geworden bis auf den heutigen Tag.
So the soldiers took the money and did as they were told {as [the chief priests and elders] told them}. And this story has been told {People have told this story} among the Jews to the very day [that I am writing] this.
16 Die elf Jünger aber gingen nach Galiläa, an den Berg, wohin Jesus sie beschieden hatte.
[Later we] eleven [disciples] went to Galilee [district]. We went to the mountain where Jesus had told [us] to go.
17 Und als sie ihn sahen, huldigten sie ihm; einige aber zweifelten.
We saw him [there] and worshipped him. But some of [us] doubted [that it was really Jesus, and that he had become alive again].
18 Und Jesus trat herzu und redete mit ihnen und sprach: Mir ist alle Gewalt gegeben im Himmel und auf Erden.
Then Jesus came [close] to [us] and said, “[My Father] has given me all authority over everything and everyone in heaven and on earth.
19 Gehet nun hin und machet alle Nationen zu Jüngern, und taufet sie auf den Namen des Vaters und des Sohnes und des Heiligen Geistes,
So go, and [using my authority, teach my message to] people of all ethnic groups so that they may become my disciples. Baptize them [to be under the authority of] [MTY] my Father, and of me, his Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
20 und lehret sie, alles zu bewahren, was ich euch geboten habe. Und siehe, ich bin bei euch alle Tage bis zur Vollendung des Zeitalters. (aiōn g165)
Teach them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember that [by the Spirit] I will be with you always, until the end of [this] age.” (aiōn g165)
