Hosea 8
1 Die Posaune an deinen Mund! Wie ein Adler stürzt er auf das Haus Jehovas, weil sie meinen Bund übertreten und gegen mein Gesetz gefrevelt haben.
Set the trumpet to your mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.
2 Sie werden zu mir schreien: Mein Gott, wir kennen dich, wir, Israel!
Israel shall cry to me, My God, we know you.
3 Israel hat das Gute verworfen: der Feind verfolge es!
Israel has cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.
4 Sie haben Könige gemacht, aber nicht von mir aus; sie haben Fürsten eingesetzt, und ich wußte es nicht. Von ihrem Silber und von ihrem Golde haben sie sich Götzenbilder gemacht, damit es vernichtet werde.
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5 Er [nämlich Gott] hat dein Kalb verworfen, Samaria: mein Zorn ist wider sie entbrannt. Bis wann sind sie der Reinheit unfähig?
Your calf, O Samaria, has cast you off; my anger is kindled against them: how long will it be before they attain to innocence?
6 Denn auch dieses ist von Israel; ein Künstler hat es gemacht, und es ist kein Gott, denn [O. sondern] das Kalb Samarias wird zu Stücken werden.
For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
7 Denn Wind säen sie, und Sturm ernten sie; Halme hat es [das Gesäte] nicht, das Ausgesproßte bringt kein Mehl; wenn es auch Mehl brächte, so würden Fremde es verschlingen.
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it has no stalk; the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.
8 Israel ist verschlungen; nun sind sie unter den Nationen wie ein Gefäß geworden, an welchem man kein Gefallen hat.
Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.
9 Denn sie sind nach Assyrien hinaufgezogen. Der Wildesel bleibt für sich allein [d. h. selbst der unvernünftige Wildesel behauptet seine Unabhängigkeit, ] aber Ephraim hat Buhlen gedungen.
For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim has hired lovers.
10 Ob sie auch unter den Nationen dingen, nun will ich sie sammeln; und sie werden anfangen, sich zu vermindern wegen der Last des Königs der Fürsten [nämlich des Königs von Assyrien; vergl. Jes. 10,8.]
Yes, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.
11 Denn Ephraim hat die Altäre vermehrt zur Versündigung, und die Altäre sind ihm zur Versündigung geworden.
Because Ephraim has made many altars to sin, altars shall be to him to sin.
12 Ich schreibe ihm zehntausend [Nach and. Les.: Mengen] Satzungen meines Gesetzes vor: wie Fremdes werden sie geachtet.
I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.
13 Als Schlachtopfer meiner Opfergaben opfern sie Fleisch und essen es; Jehova hat kein Wohlgefallen an denselben. Nun wird er ihrer Ungerechtigkeit [O. Schuld; so auch Kap. 9,7. 9.] gedenken und ihre Sünden heimsuchen: sie werden nach Ägypten zurückkehren.
They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of my offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepts them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.
14 Und Israel hat den vergessen, der es gemacht, und hat Paläste gebaut, und Juda hat die festen Städte vermehrt; aber ich werde ein Feuer in seine Städte senden, welches seine Schlösser verzehren wird.
For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and builds temples; and Judah has multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire on his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
