2 Samuel 23
1 Und dies sind die letzten Worte Davids: Es spricht David, [Eig. Spruch Davids] der Sohn Isais, und es spricht der hochgestellte Mann, der Gesalbte des Gottes Jakobs und der Liebliche in Gesängen [Dasselbe Wort wie Psalm, Singspiel] Israels:
And these [are] the last words of David. Faithful [is] David the son of Jessae, and faithful the man whom the Lord raised up to be the anointed of the God of Jacob, and beautiful [are] the psalms of Israel.
2 Der Geist Jehovas hat durch mich geredet, und sein Wort war auf meiner Zunge.
The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and his word [was] upon my tongue.
3 Es hat gesprochen der Gott Israels, der Fels Israels zu mir geredet: Ein Herrscher unter [O. über die] den Menschen, gerecht, ein Herrscher in Gottesfurcht;
The God of Israel says, A watchman out of Israel spoke to me a parable: I said among men, How will ye strengthen the fear of the anointed?
4 und er wird sein wie das Licht des Morgens, wenn die Sonne aufgeht, ein Morgen ohne Wolken: von ihrem Glanze nach dem Regen sproßt das Grün aus der Erde.
And in the morning light of God, let the sun arise in the morning, from the light of which the Lord passed on, and as it were from the rain of the tender grass upon the earth.
5 Obwohl mein Haus nicht also ist bei Gott, so hat er mir doch einen ewigen Bund gesetzt, geordnet in allem und verwahrt; denn dies ist all meine Rettung und all mein Begehr, obwohl er es nicht sprossen läßt! [Denn ist nicht also mein Haus bei Gott? Denn er hat mir einen ewigen Bund gesetzt; denn all meine Rettung und all mein Begehr, sollte er sie nicht sprossen lassen?]
For my house [is] not so with the Mighty One: for he has made an everlasting covenant with me, ready, guarded at every time; for all my salvation and all my desire [is], that the wicked should not flourish.
6 Aber die Söhne Belials sind allesamt wie Dornen, die man wegwirft; denn mit der Hand faßt man sie nicht an;
All these [are] as a thorn thrust forth, for they shall not be taken with the hand,
7 Und der Mann, der sie anrührt, versieht sich mit Eisen und Speeresschaft; und mit Feuer werden sie gänzlich verbrannt an ihrer Stätte. -
and a man shall not labour among them; and [one shall have] that which is fully armed with iron, and the staff of a spear, an he shall burn them with fire, and they shall be burnt in their shame.
8 Dies [1. Chron. 11,10] sind die Namen der Helden, welche David hatte: Joscheb-Baschebeth, der Tachkemoniter, [Wahrsch. zu l.: Jaschobam, der Hakmoniter; wie 1. Chron. 11,11] das Haupt der Anführer; [O. Ritter. Die Bedeutung des hebr. Wortes ist ungewiß] er Adino, der Ezniter, war wider [O. zu lesen wie 1. Chron. 11,11: Anführer; er schwang seinen Speer wider usw.] achthundert, die er auf einmal erschlug.
These [are] the names of the mighty men of David: Jebosthe the Chananite is a captain of the third [part]: Adinon the Asonite, he drew his sword against eight hundred soldiers at once.
9 Und nach ihm Eleasar, der Sohn Dodos, der Sohn eines Achochiters; er war unter den drei Helden mit David, als sie die Philister verhöhnten, die daselbst zum Streit versammelt waren, und als die Männer von Israel wegzogen.
And after him Eleanan the son of his uncle, son of Dudi who was among the three mighty men with David; and when he defied the Philistines they were gathered there to war, and the men of Israel went up.
10 Selbiger machte sich auf und schlug unter den Philistern, bis seine Hand ermüdete und seine Hand am Schwerte klebte; und Jehova schaffte an jenem Tage eine große Rettung. Das Volk aber kehrte um, ihm nach, nur um zu plündern.
He arose an smote the Philistines, until his hand was weary, and his hand clave to the sword: and the Lord wrought a great salvation in that day, and the people rested behind him only to strip [the slain].
11 Und nach ihm Schamma, der Sohn Ages, des Harariters. Und die Philister versammelten sich zu einer Schar; und es war daselbst ein Ackerstück voll Linsen; das Volk aber floh vor den Philistern.
And after him Samaia the son of Asa the Arachite: and the Philistines were gathered to Theria; and there was there a portion of ground full of lentiles; and the people fled before the Philistines.
12 Da stellte er sich mitten auf das Stück und rettete es und schlug die Philister; und Jehova schaffte eine große Rettung.
And he stood firm in the midst of the portion, and rescued it, and smote the Philistines; and the Lord wrought a great deliverance.
13 Und drei von den dreißig Häuptern gingen hinab und kamen zur Erntezeit zu David, in die Höhle Adullam; und eine Schar der Philister lagerte im Tale Rephaim.
And three out of the thirty went down, and came to Cason to David, to the cave of Odollam; and [there was] an army of the Philistines, and they encamped in the valley of Raphain.
14 David war aber damals auf [O. in] der Bergfeste, und eine Aufstellung der Philister war damals zu Bethlehem.
And David [was] then in the strong hold, and the garrison of the Philistines [was] then in Bethleem.
15 Und David hatte ein Gelüste und sprach: Wer wird mich mit Wasser tränken aus der Cisterne von Bethlehem, die am Tore ist?
And David longed, and said, Who will give me water to drink out of the well that is in Bethleem by the gate? now the band of the Philistines [was] then in Bethleem.
16 Da brachen die drei Helden durch das Lager der Philister und schöpften Wasser aus der Cisterne von Bethlehem, die am Tore ist, und trugen und brachten es zu David. Aber er wollte es nicht trinken und goß es aus als Trankopfer dem Jehova;
And the three mighty men broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well that was in Bethleem in the gate: and they took it, and brought it to David, and he would not drink it, but poured it out before the Lord.
17 und er sprach: Fern sei es von mir, Jehova, daß ich solches tue! Sollte ich das Blut der Männer trinken, die mit Gefahr ihres Lebens hingegangen sind? Und er wollte es nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden.
And he said, O Lord, forbid that I should do this, that I should drink of the blood of the men who went at [the risk of] their lives: and he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.
18 Und Abisai, der Bruder Joabs, der Sohn der Zeruja, war ein Haupt der Drei. Und er schwang seinen Speer über dreihundert, die er erschlug; und er hatte einen Namen unter den Dreien.
And Abessa the brother of Joab the son of Saruia, he [was] chief among the three, and he lifted up his spear against three hundred whom he slew; and he had a name among three.
19 War er vor den Dreien [Wahrsch. ist zu l.: vor den Dreißig; wie v 23 und 1. Chron. 11,25] nicht geehrt, [O. berühmt; so auch v 23] so daß er ihr Oberster wurde? aber an die ersten Drei reichte er nicht.
Of those three [he was] most honourable, and he became a chief over them, but he reached not to the [first] three.
20 Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, der Sohn eines tapferen Mannes, groß an Taten, von Kabzeel; selbiger erschlug zwei Löwen [O. Helden. H. Ariel: Gotteslöwen= mächtige Helden] von Moab. Und er stieg hinab und erschlug den Löwen in der Grube an einem Schneetage.
And Banaeas the son of Jodae, he was abundant in [mighty] deeds, from Cabeseel, and he smote the two sons of Ariel of Moab: and he went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.
21 Und er war es, der einen ägyptischen Mann erschlug, einen stattlichen Mann. Und der Ägypter hatte einen Speer in der Hand; er aber ging zu ihm hinab mit einem Stabe, und riß dem Ägypter den Speer aus der Hand und tötete ihn mit seinem eigenen Speere.
He smote an Egyptian, a wonderful man, and in the hand of the Egyptian [was] a spear as the side of a ladder; and he went down to him with a staff, and snatched the spear from the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Das tat Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas; und er hatte einen Namen unter den drei Helden.
These things did Banaeas the son of Jodae, and he had a name among the three mighty men.
23 Vor den Dreißigen war er geehrt, aber an die ersten Drei reichte er nicht. Und David setzte ihn in seinen geheimen Rat.
He was honourable among the [second] three, but he reached not to the [first] three: and David made him his reporter. And these [are] the names of King David's mighty men.
24 Asael, der Bruder Joabs, war unter den Dreißig; Elchanan, der Sohn Dodos, von Bethlehem;
Asael Joab's brother; he [was] among the thirty. Eleanan son of Dudi his uncle in Bethleem.
25 Schamma, der Haroditer; Elika, der Haroditer;
Saema the Rudaean.
26 Helez, der Paltiter; Ira, der Sohn Ikkesch, der Tekoiter;
Selles the Kelothite: Iras the son of Isca the Thecoite.
27 Abieser, der Anathothiter; Mebunnai, der Huschathiter;
Abiezer the Anothite, of the sons of the Anothite.
28 Zalmon, der Achochiter; Maharai, der Netophatiter;
Ellon the Aoite; Noere the Netophatite.
29 Heleb, der Sohn Baanas, der Netophatiter; Ittai, der Sohn Ribais, von Gibea der Kinder Benjamin;
Esthai the son of Riba of Gabaeth, son of Benjamin the Ephrathite; Asmoth the Bardiamite; Emasu the Salabonite:
30 Benaja, der Pirhathoniter; Hiddai, von den Bächen [O. Flußtälern] Gaasch;
Adroi of the brooks.
31 Abi-Albon, der Arbathiter; Asmaweth, der Barchumiter;
Gadabiel son of the Arabothaeite.
32 Eljachba, der Schaalboniter; Bne-Jaschen; Jonathan;
the sons of Asan, Jonathan;
33 Schamma, der Harariter; Achiam, der Sohn Scharars, der Arariter;
Samnan the Arodite; Amnan the son of Arai the Saraurite.
34 Eliphelet, der Sohn Achasbais, des Sohnes des Maakathiters; Eliam, der Sohn Ahitophels, der Giloniter;
Aliphaleth the son of Asbites, the son of the Machachachite; Eliab the son of Achitophel the Gelonite.
35 Hezrai, der Karmeliter, Paarai, der Arbiter;
Asarai the Carmelite the son of Uraeoerchi.
36 Jigal, der Sohn Nathans, von Zoba; Bani, der Gaditer;
Gaal the son of Nathana. The son of much valour, [the son] of Galaaddi. Elie the Ammanite.
37 Zelek, der Ammoniter; Nacharai, der Beerothiter, der Waffenträger Joabs, des Sohnes der Zeruja;
Gelore the Bethorite, armour-bearer to Joab, son of Saruia.
38 Ira, der Jithriter; Gareb, der Jithriter;
Iras the Ethirite. Gerab the Ethenite.
39 Urija, der Hethiter: in allem 37.
Urias the Chettite: thirty-seven in all.
