Psalm 91

1 Erste Stimme: / Unter dem Schutze des Höchsten wohnend, / In des Allmächtigen Schatten weilend —

He that dwellith in the help of the hiyeste God; schal dwelle in the proteccioun of God of heuene.

2 Sprech ich zu Jahwe: "Meine Zuflucht und Burg, / Mein Gott, auf den ich vertraue!"

He schal seie to the Lord, Thou art myn vptaker, and my refuit; my God, Y schal hope in him.

3 Zweite Stimme: / Denn er wird dich erretten von des Voglers Strick, / Von der verderblichen Pest.

For he delyuered me fro the snare of hunteris; and fro a scharp word.

4 Mit seiner Schwinge decket er dich, / Unter seinen Flügeln bist du geborgen. / Schild und Panzer ist seine Treu.

With hise schuldris he schal make schadowe to thee; and thou schalt haue hope vnder hise fetheris.

5 Du hast nicht zu fürchten die Schrecken der Nacht, / Den Pfeil, der am Tage daherfliegt,

His treuthe schal cumpasse thee with a scheld; thou schalt not drede of nyytis drede.

6 Auch nicht die Pest, die im Dunkeln schleicht, / Noch die Seuche, die wütet am Mittag.

Of an arowe fliynge in the dai, of a gobelyn goynge in derknessis; of asailing, and a myddai feend.

7 Wenn tausend an deiner Seite fallen / Und zehntausend zu deiner Rechten: / Du wirst nicht getroffen.

A thousynde schulen falle doun fro thi side, and ten thousynde fro thi riytside; forsothe it schal not neiye to thee.

8 Nur mit deinen Augen schauest du hin / Und wirst sehn die Vergeltung der Frevler.

Netheles thou schalt biholde with thin iyen; and thou schalt se the yelding of synneris.

9 Erste Stimme: / Ja, du, o Jahwe, bist meine Zuversicht. / Zweite Stimme: / Den Höchsten hast du zur Zuflucht erwählt.

For thou, Lord, art myn hope; thou hast set thin help altherhiyeste.

10 Nicht wird dir ein Unglück begegnen, / Keine Plage wird deinem Zelte nahn.

Yuel schal not come to thee; and a scourge schal not neiye to thi tabernacle.

11 Denn seine Engel wird er dir entbieten, / Dich zu behüten auf all deinen Wegen.

For God hath comaundid to hise aungels of thee; that thei kepe thee in alle thi weies.

12 Sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, / Damit sich dein Fuß nicht stoße am Stein.

Thei schulen beere thee in the hondis; leste perauenture thou hirte thi foot at a stoon.

13 Über Löwen und Ottern wirst du schreiten, / Zertreten Jungleuen und Schlangen.

Thou schalt go on a snake, and a cocatrice; and thou schalt defoule a lioun and a dragoun.

14 Dritte Stimme (die im Namen Gottes redet): / Weil er mich liebt, will ich ihn befrein. / Ich will ihn schützen, weil er meinen Namen kennt.

For he hopide in me, Y schal delyuere hym; Y schal defende him, for he knew my name.

15 Er ruft mich an, ich erhör ihn. / Ich werde mit ihm in Drangsal sein; / Ich reiß ihn heraus und bring ihn zu Ehren.

He criede to me, and Y schal here him, Y am with him in tribulacioun; Y schal delyuere him, and Y schal glorifie hym.

16 Mit langem Leben sättige ich ihn / Und will ihn schauen lassen mein Heil.

I schal fille hym with the lengthe of daies; and Y schal schewe myn helthe to him.
