Psalm 81
1 Dem Sangmeister, auf der Gittit. Von Asaf.
For the Chief Musician; set to the Gittith. A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.
2 (Der levitische Sängerchor: ) / Laßt Jubel erschallen Elohim, unserm Hort, / Jauchzet dem Gotte Jakobs!
Take up the psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
3 Stimmt an Gesang, laßt tönen die Pauke, / Die liebliche Zither und Harfe!
Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, at the full moon, on our solemn feast day.
4 Blaset am Neumond das Widderhorn, / Beim Vollmond, für unsern Feiertag!
For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 Denn so ist es Satzung für Israel, / Eine Vorschrift des Gottes Jakobs.
He appointed it in Joseph for testimony, when he went out over the land of Egypt: [where] I heard a language that I knew not.
6 Als Gebot hat er's für Josef bestimmt, / Da er auszog wider Ägyptenland. / (Eine Einzelstimme: ) / Eine Sprache, mir fremd, vernehm ich:
I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were freed from the basket.
7 "Seinen Nacken hab ich von der Bürde befreit, / Seine Hände wurden des Lastkorbs ledig.
Thou calledst in trouble, and I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)
8 Du riefst in der Not, ich riß dich heraus, / Erhörte dich aus Gewittergewölk, / Prüfte dich an Meribas Wassern. (Sela)
Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto me!
9 Höre, mein Volk, ich will dich warnen! / Israel, möchtest du mir gehorchen!
There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
10 Nicht sei unter dir ein fremder Gott; / Bete nicht an einen Gott des Auslands!
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
11 Ich, Jahwe, bin dein Gott, / Der dich geführt aus Ägyptenland: / Tu deinen Mund weit auf, / Damit ich ihn fülle!
But my people hearkened not to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
12 Aber mein Volk gehorchte mir nicht, / Israel war mir nicht zu Willen.
So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
13 Da stieß ich sie weg, weil ihr Herz so verstockt, / Daß sie folgten den eignen Gedanken.
Oh that my people would hearken unto me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
14 O daß doch mein Volk mir gehorchte, / Daß Israel ginge auf meinen Wegen!
I should soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
15 Wie leicht könnt ich da ihre Feinde beugen, / Meine Hand gegen ihre Dränger kehren.
The haters of the LORD should submit themselves unto him: but their time should endure for ever.
16 Ihnen müßten schmeicheln, die Jahwe hassen, / Und ewig würde währen ihr Glück. Mit dem besten Weizen würd ich sie speisen, / Mit Honig aus Felsen dich sättigen."
He should feed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I satisfy thee.
