Psalm 47

1 Dem Sangmeister. Ein Psalm der Söhne Korahs.

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah. Oh clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

2 Ihr Völker alle, klatscht in die Hände, / Jauchzt Elohim mit Jubelschall!

For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is a great King over all the earth.

3 Denn Jahwe ist hoch, ist furchtbar, / Ein großer König in aller Welt.

He subdues nations under us, and peoples under our feet.

4 Er beugte Völker unter uns / Und legte uns Leute zu Füßen.

He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. (Selah)

5 Er wählte uns unser Erbe aus, / Die Herrlichkeit Jakobs, den er liebt. (Sela)

God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a shofar.

6 Elohim steigt unter Jauchzen empor, / Jahwe beim Klange des Widderhorns.

Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our King! Sing praises!

7 Lobsingt Elohim, lobsinget! / Lobsingt unserm König, lobsinget!

For God is the King of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.

8 Denn aller Welt König ist Elohim. / Singt ihm ein Huldigungslied!

God reigns over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.

9 Königlich herrscht Elohim über Völker, / Elohim sitzt auf seinem heiligen Thron. Der Völker Fürsten versammeln sich / Als Volk des Gottes Abrahams. / Denn der Erde Schilde sind Elohims. / Er ist gewaltig erhaben!

The princes of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God. He is greatly exalted!
