1 Siiqo kaallite; ayana imotethata harapeka tinbite hasa7iza imotata lo7ethi koyte.
Follow after love, and earnestly desire spiritual things, and especially that you may prophesy.
2 Hara qaalan hasa7izadey Xoossas attin asas hasa7ena. Xuura gidida yoo ayanan hasa7iza gishshi izi gizay asas gelena.
For the one who speaks in another language speaks not to people, but to God; for no one understands; but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 Tinbite hasa7izadey asa minthethanas, denthethanasine go7anas hasa7es.
But he who prophesies speaks to people for their encouragement, strengthening, and comfort.
4 Hara qaalan hasa7izadey qass berika bena minthethes. Tinbite hasa7izadey gidiko woossa keeththa go7es.
He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
5 Inte wurikka hara qaalan hasa7izako ta dosayiskko shin hessafeka bollara inte tinbite qaalan hasa7izako ta dosayss. Woossa keethay minnana mala hara qaalara hasa7izadey ba hasa7izayssa birshontta izi hara qaalara hasa7izayssafe tinbite hasa7izadey adhdhes.
Now I would like you all to speak in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy, and he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the church may be built up.
6 Hessa gishshi ta ishato ta inteko biza wode ta intes qonccisethan woykko eratethan woykko tinbiten, woykko timirtten yootontta hara qaalara yootiko hessi intena ay go7anee?
But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
7 Hessi coo susul7o malane diitha malati shempoy bayindaytika istta giirethas dumatethi shaaketi eretontta aggiko iza wostti eranee?
Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they did not give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
8 Qasseka xurumbbay woykko zayey aazas zayettizakone shaaki eretontta ogera punettiko ooni olasi giigistanee?
For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
9 Inteka hessa malakko. Inte duunape erettiza qaalay kezontta aggiko inte gizayssa ooni eranee? Coo mela carkon dhayana.
So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
10 Alame bolla daro duma duma qaalay dees shin birshethi bayinda qaalay baawa.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none is without meaning.
11 Hessa gishshi issadey hasa7iza qaala birshechi ta erontta aggiko hasa7izades ta imathe gidayss. Izadeyka taas imathi gides.
If then I do not know the meaning of the sound, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
12 Inteka hessa mala ayanan imotethata demanas inte koyza gishshi woossa keeththa go7iza imoteth demanas lo7ethi koyte.
So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual things, seek that you may abound to the building up of the church.
13 Hessa gishshi hara qaalan hasa7iza uray ba hasa7idayssa birshechi erana mala bess woosso.
Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
14 Tani hara qaalara woossiza wode ta ayanan woossays attin ta izape aykoka erike.
For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 Histin ta ay oothana mala taas bessizee? Tani ta ayananika woossana. Wozinan wothadaka woossana. Ta ayananika yexxana. Wozinaraka yexxana.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Hessatho gidontta aggiko ne Xoossu ayanan galatiza wode hessa erontta issi imatha asi ne galata woossa wostti “Amin77i” gaanas danda7izee?
Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the "Amen" at your giving of thanks, seeing he does not know what you say?
17 Ne bessiza mala galatanas danda7asa. Hankoyssi gidiko izan go7ettena.
For you truly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
18 Tani intefe bollara hara qaalan hasa7iza gishshi Xoossu galatayss.
I thank God I speak in tongues more than you all.
19 Gido attin woossa keeththan eretontta daro shi qaalata hasa7anape hara asata tamarssanas asay eriza ichchachu qaala hasa7ana dosayss.
However in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
20 Ta ishato inte inte qofan guutha nayta mala gidopite. Iitta oothos gidiko guutha nayta mala gidite. Qofan gidiko kaha kunthida asata gidite.
Brothers, do not be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.
21 Kase woganka “Istta qaalay imath gidida allaga asata qaalara ta hayssa asas yootana. Hessatho yootinka ta gizaz istti siyetena gees Goday” geeteti kase geesha maxaafan xaafetides.
In the law it is written, "By people of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people; but even then they will not listen to me," says the Lord.
22 Hessa gishshi hara qaalan hasa7ay ammanontta asas malata gides attin ammanizaytas malata gidena. Tinbite gidiko ammanizaytas attin ammanonttays gidena.
Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
23 Histiko woossa keeththan ammaniza asay issife shiiqidason wurikka erontta hara qaalan hasa7ishin imatha asati woykko ammanontta asay, asay shiiqidi hasa7izaso geliko “Hayti goyeetes” geettenee?
If therefore the whole church is assembled together and all speak in tongues, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won't they say that you are crazy?
24 Gido attin asay wuri tinbite qaala hasa7etishin imathi woykko ammanonttadey geliko ba siydayssan wurson minidatanane he qaalan piridistana.
But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
25 Izadey ba wozinan qotti wothidazi wuri qonccanane izika ba baggara “Tumape Xoossi intenara dees” giidi gufannidi Xoossas goynana.
And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.
26 Hessa gishshi ta ishato histin ay giinoo? Inte issife shiiqiza wode intefe issi issi uras yethi qasse issi issi uras timirttey dees. Issi issi qonccontta xuura miishata qonccisiza imotay dees. Hara uras duma qaalan hasa7ana imotay dees. Haras qasse he qaala birshecha imotay dees. Hessi he imotay wurikka ammanizayta go7anas besses.
What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
27 Hara qaalara hasa7izay diiko nam7u ura woykko dari dariko hedzdzu gididi taran taran yooteto. Hara uray qasse birsho.
If anyone speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
28 Birshizadey bayinda aggiko shiiqida asa giddon co7u giidi bees xalalane Xoossas xalala yooto.
But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the church, and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Tinbite hasa7a imotay dizayti nabeti nam7ati woykko heedzdzati tinbite hasa7eto. Hanko asay yootetidayssa lo7ethi pacco.
Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern.
30 Uttida asa garisafe issadey issi miishi qoncciko koyro hasa7izayssi co7u go.
But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
31 Inte garisafe issi issi uray tamarana malane ministana mala inte wurikka taran taran tinbite yootanas danda7ista.
For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.
32 Nabista ayanay nabetas azazetes. Gaasoyka Xoossi sarotetha Xoossafe attin woccama Xoossu gidena. Ammanizayta woossa keeth wursosonka hessa malakko.
The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
34 Ammaniza asay goynos shiiqizason maccasati co7u geto. Muse wogay kase gida mala istti azazeteto attin shiiqoson istti hasa7ana mala isttas imettibeyna.
let the women keep silent in the churches, for it has not been permitted for them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as the Law also says.
35 Maccashati eranas koyza issi issi yooti diiko ba keeththan ba azinata oycheto. Gaasoyka maccashi shiiqoson hasa7ay yeelachizazakko.
If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a woman to chatter in the church.
36 Xoossa qaalay intefe kezidee? Woyko inteko xalala gakkidee?
What? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
37 Oonka bena “Nabe” giiko woykko “Taas xiillo ayanape imotethi dees” gizadey diiko hayss ta intes xaafidayss Goda azazo gididayssa ero.
If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
38 Hayssa erontta uray diiko izi ba hu7es eretena.
But if someone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.
39 Hessa gishshi ta ishato, buro tinbite hasa7anas lo7eth koyite. Duma duma qaalan hasa7aka digopite.
Therefore, my brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.
40 Gidikoka wurikka maararane wogara gido.
Let all things be done decently and in order.
