Psaumes 32
1 De David. — Hymne. Heureux celui dont la transgression est remise, Et dont les péchés sont pardonnés!
[A Psalm] of David, Maschil. Blessed [is he whose] transgression [is] forgiven, [whose] sin [is] covered.
2 Heureux l'homme à qui l'Éternel n'impute pas l'iniquité. Et dans l'esprit duquel il n'y a point de fraude!
Blessed [is] the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit [there is] no guile.
3 Tant que je gardais le silence, mon corps dépérissait. Je gémissais tout le jour;
When I kept silence, my bones became old through my roaring all the day long.
4 Car, jour et nuit, ta main s'appesantissait sur moi. (Pause) Ma vigueur avait fait place à la sécheresse de l'été.
For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drouth of summer. (Selah)
5 Je t'ai fait connaître mon péché; Je ne t'ai point caché mon iniquité. J'ai dit: «Je confesserai mes transgressions à l'Éternel!» Alors tu as ôté la peine de mon péché. (Pause)
I acknowledged my sin to thee, and my iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. (Selah)
6 C'est pourquoi tout fidèle t'invoquera Au temps où l'on te trouve; Et quand même les grandes eaux viendraient à déborder, Lui seul n'en serait pas atteint.
For this shall every one that is godly pray to thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh to him.
7 Tu es pour moi un asile; tu me préserves de la détresse; Tu m'environnes de chants de délivrance. (Pause)
Thou [art] my hiding place; thou wilt preserve me from trouble; thou wilt compass me about with songs of deliverance. (Selah)
8 «Je te rendrai intelligent. Je te montrerai le chemin que tu dois suivre; Je serai ton conseiller; mon oeil sera sur toi».
I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with my eye.
9 Ne soyez pas sans intelligence, comme le cheval et le mulet, Dont il faut serrer la bouche avec un mors et un frein, Pour s'en faire obéir!
Be ye not as the horse, [or] as the mule, [which] have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near to thee.
10 Beaucoup de douleurs attendent le méchant; Mais celui qui se confie en l'Éternel Est environné de miséricorde.
Many sorrows [shall be] to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall encompass him.
11 Justes, réjouissez-vous en l'Éternel, tressaillez de joie! Poussez des cris d'allégresse, vous tous qui avez le coeur droit!
Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all [ye that are] upright in heart.
