Psaumes 27

1 De David. L'Éternel est ma lumière et ma délivrance; De qui aurais-je peur? L'Éternel est le rempart de ma vie; De qui aurais-je de la crainte?

[A Psalm] of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 Quand les méchants sont venus contre moi Pour dévorer ma chair, Ce sont eux, mes adversaires et mes ennemis. Qui ont bronché et qui sont tombés.

When the wicked, [even] my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Quand même une armée camperait contre moi, Mon coeur n'aurait aucune crainte. Quand la guerre s'élèverait contre moi, Même alors j'aurais confiance.

Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this [will] I [be] confident.

4 J'ai demandé une chose à l'Éternel, et je la rechercherai: C'est d'habiter dans la maison de l'Éternel Tous les jours de ma vie, Pour contempler la beauté de l'Éternel Et pour visiter son sanctuaire.

One [thing] have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

5 Car il m'abritera dans sa tente au jour du malheur; Il me cachera dans le lieu le plus secret de son tabernacle. Il m'élèvera sur un rocher.

For in the time of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle will he hide me; he will set me up upon a rock.

6 Déjà ma tête s'élève au-dessus des ennemis qui m'entourent. J'offrirai dans son tabernacle des sacrifices, avec des cris de joie; Je chanterai et je psalmodierai à la gloire de l'Éternel.

And now shall my head be lifted above my enemies around me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.

7 O Éternel, écoute ma voix, je t'invoque; Aie pitié de moi et daigne m'exaucer!

Hear, O LORD, [when] I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 Mon coeur dit de ta part: «Cherchez ma face!» Je cherche ta face, ô Éternel!

[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; my heart said to thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

9 Ne me cache pas ta face! Ne rejette pas ton serviteur, dans ta colère! Tu as été mon aide; ne me délaisse pas, ne m'abandonne point, Dieu de mon salut!

Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 Quand mon père et ma mère m'auraient abandonné, L'Éternel me recueillera.

When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

11 O Éternel, enseigne-moi ta voie, Et conduis-moi dans le droit chemin, A cause de mes ennemis.

Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies.

12 Ne me livre pas à la merci de mes adversaires: Car de faux témoins, des gens qui ne respirent que violence, Se sont élevés contre moi.

Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies: for false witnesses have risen against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 Ah! si je n'avais l'assurance de voir la bonté de l'Éternel Sur la terre des vivants!

[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

14 Mets ton espoir en l'Éternel! Demeure ferme; que ton coeur se fortifie. Oui, mets ton espoir en l'Éternel!

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
