Psaumes 22
1 Au maître-chantre. — Sur «Biche de l'aurore». — Psaume de David. Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné Pourquoi restes-tu loin, sans me secourir, Sans écouter mon gémissement?
“To the chief musician upon Ayeleth-hashachar, a psalm of David.” My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from saving me, and from the words of my loud complaint?
2 Mon Dieu, je crie le jour, — et tu ne réponds pas; La nuit — et je n'ai point de repos.
O my God! I call in the day-time, but thou answerest not; and in the night I find no rest.
3 Cependant, tu es le Saint, Dont le trône est environné des louanges d'Israël.
But thou art holy, O thou that dwellest amidst the praises of Israel.
4 C'est en toi que se sont confiés nos pères; Ils ont eu confiance, et tu les as délivrés.
In thee did our fathers trust: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 Ils ont crié vers toi, et ils ont été sauvés. Ils se sont confiés en toi, et ils n'ont pas été déçus.
Unto thee they cried, and were delivered: in thee they trusted, and were not put to shame.
6 Mais moi, je suis un ver de terre et non un homme, L'opprobre des hommes et le méprisé du peuple.
But I am a worm, and not a man, a reproach of men, and despised of people.
7 Tous ceux qui me voient se moquent de moi; Ils ricanent, ils hochent la tête en disant:
All those who see me laugh me to scorn: they draw open their lips, they shake their head, [saying, ]
8 «Qu'il se repose sur l'Éternel, et l'Éternel le délivrera; Il le sauvera, puisqu'il a mis en lui son affection!»
“Let him throw himself on the Lord, that he may deliver him: he will save him, for he delighteth in him.”
9 Oui, c'est toi qui m'as tiré du sein de ma mère, Et qui m'as fait reposer en paix dans ses bras.
Yea, thou art he that took me from the womb: thou hast been my trust when I hung on my mother's breasts.
10 J'ai été remis entre tes mains dès ma naissance; Dès le sein de ma mère, tu as été mon Dieu.
Upon thee was I cast from my birth: from my mother's womb art thou my God.
11 Ne t'éloigne pas de moi, quand la détresse est proche, Quand il n'y a personne pour me secourir!
Oh be not far from me [now]; for distress is near; for there is none to help.
12 De nombreux taureaux sont autour de moi; Les robustes taureaux de Basan m'enveloppent.
Many steers have encompassed me: the strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 Mes ennemis ouvrent leur bouche contre moi, Comme un lion qui déchire et rugit.
They have opened wide against me their mouth, [as] a ravenous and roaring lion.
14 Je suis comme l'eau qui s'écoule, Et tous mes os se sont disjoints; Mon coeur est comme la cire: Il se fond dans mes entrailles.
Like water am I poured out, and all my bones are disjointed: my heart is become like wax, it is melted in the midst of my entrails.
15 Ma vigueur est desséchée comme la brique; Ma langue s'attache à mon palais, Et tu m'as couché dans la poussière de la mort.
Like a potsherd is my strength dried up; and my tongue cleaveth to my palate; and into the dust of death hast thou laid me down.
16 Car des chiens m'ont environné; Une bande de malfaiteurs m'a entouré; Ils ont percé mes mains et mes pieds.
For dogs have encompassed me; the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: like lions [they threaten] my hands and my feet.
17 Je pourrais compter tous mes os! Mes ennemis me regardent et m'observent:
I may number all my bones: [while] they stare and look upon me.
18 Ils partagent entre eux mes vêtements, Et ils tirent ma robe au sort.
They divide my clothes among themselves, and for my garment do they cast lots.
19 Toi donc, ô Éternel, ne t'éloigne pas! Toi qui es ma force, accours à mon aide!
But thou, O Lord, be not far from me: O [thou who art] my strength, hasten to my aid.
20 Délivre mon âme de l'épée, Ma vie, de la dent des chiens!
Deliver from the sword my life, from the power of the dog my solitary soul.
21 Sauve-moi de la gueule du lion Et des cornes des buffles! Oui, tu m'as exaucé!
Save me from the lion's mouth; as thou hast answered me from the horns of the reem.
22 J'annoncerai ton nom à mes frères; Je te louerai au milieu de l'assemblée.
I will relate thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Vous qui craignez l'Éternel, louez-le; Vous tous, race de Jacob, glorifiez-le; Craignez-le, vous tous, race d'Israël!
Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and be in dread of him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 Car il n'a point méprisé, il n'a pas dédaigné la misère de l'affligé. Il n'a pas détourné de lui son visage; Mais il l'a exaucé quand il criait vers lui.
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor; neither hath he hidden his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 Tu seras loué par moi dans la grande assemblée; J'accomplirai mes voeux en présence de ceux qui te craignent.
Of thee shall be my praise in a great assembly: my vows will I pay in the presence of those who fear him.
26 Les malheureux mangeront et seront rassasiés; Ceux qui recherchent l'Éternel le loueront. Que leur coeur revienne à la vie pour toujours!
The meek shall eat and be satisfied; they who seek him shall praise the Lord: may your heart live for ever.
27 Tous les peuples de la terre se souviendront de l'Éternel, Et ils reviendront à lui; Toutes les familles des nations se prosterneront devant sa face;
All the ends of the world shall remember and return unto the Lord: and all the families of the nations shall bow themselves down before thee.
28 Car le règne appartient à l'Éternel, Et il domine sur les nations.
For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he governeth the nations.
29 Oui, tous les puissants de la terre se prosterneront devant lui. Tous ceux qui descendent dans la poussière, Ceux qui sont près d'expirer, s'inclineront devant lui.
All they that eat the fat of the earth shall bow themselves down; before him shall bend the knee all that are going down into the dust; for none can keep alive his own soul.
30 La postérité le servira; On parlera du Seigneur aux générations futures:
Distant ages shall serve him; there shall be related of the Lord unto future generations.
31 Elles viendront et proclameront sa justice. Au peuple qui naîtra, elles annonceront ce qu'il a fait!
They will come, and will tell his righteousness unto a people yet unborn, that he hath done this.
