Psaumes 146

1 Louez l'Éternel! Mon âme, loue l'Éternel!

My soul, praise the Lord.

2 Je louerai l'Éternel tant que je vivrai; Je célébrerai mon Dieu, tant que j'existerai.

I will praise the Lord, while I live; I will sing to my God, while I am.

3 Ne mettez pas votre confiance dans les grands de la terre, Ni dans les hommes mortels, qui ne sauraient délivrer.

Put not your trust in princes mortals, in whom is no help.

4 Leur souffle s'en va: ils retournent à la poussière. Et ce jour-là, leurs desseins sont anéantis.

When their breath goes out, they go back to the dust: on that very day their purposes perish.

5 Heureux l'homme qui a le Dieu de Jacob pour appui, Et qui met son espoir en l'Éternel, son Dieu.

Happy those whose help is the God of Jacob: whose hope is set on the Lord their God,

6 C'est le Dieu qui a fait les cieux et la terre, La mer et tout ce qui s'y trouve; Qui demeure fidèle éternellement;

the Creator of heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them. He remains eternally loyal.

7 Qui fait droit aux opprimés; Qui donne de la nourriture à ceux qui ont faim.

For the wronged he executes justice; he gives bread to the hungry; the Lord releases the prisoners.

8 L'Éternel rend la liberté aux captifs; L'Éternel ouvre les yeux des aveugles; L'Éternel redresse ceux qui sont courbés; L'Éternel aime les justes.

The Lord gives sight to the blind: the Lord raises those who are bowed. The Lord loves the righteous.

9 L'Éternel protège les étrangers; Il soutient l'orphelin et la veuve; Mais il rend tortueuse la voie suivie par les méchants.

The Lord preserves the stranger, upholds the widow and orphan, but the wicked he leads to disaster.

10 L'Éternel régnera éternellement. Sion, ton Dieu subsiste d'âge en âge! Louez l'Éternel!

The Lord shall reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Hallelujah.
