Psaumes 119
1 Heureux ceux dont la conduite est intègre, Et qui suivent la loi de l'Éternel!
ALEPH. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2 Heureux ceux qui obéissent à ses enseignements, Qui le recherchent de tout leur coeur,
Blessed are they who search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart.
3 Et qui ne commettent pas d'iniquité, Mais qui marchent dans les voies de l'Éternel!...
For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways.
4 Tu as donné tes commandements, ô Dieu, Pour qu'on les observe avec soin.
Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently.
5 Daigne diriger ma conduite, Afin que j'observe tes préceptes!
O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications.
6 Alors je n'aurai point à rougir, Quand je fixerai les regards sur tous tes commandements.
Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments.
7 Je te célébrerai dans la droiture de mon coeur. Quand j'aurai appris tes justes jugements.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice.
8 Je veux observer tes préceptes; Ne m'abandonne pas entièrement!
I will keep thy justifications: O! do not thou utterly forsake me.
9 Comment le jeune homme rendra-t-il pure sa conduite? C'est en restant fidèle à ta parole.
BETH. By what doth a young man correct his way? by observing thy words.
10 Je te cherche de tout mon coeur; Ne permets pas que je m'égare loin de tes commandements!
With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments.
11 J'ai serré ta parole dans mon coeur. Afin de ne pas pécher contre toi.
Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee.
12 Béni sois-tu, ô Éternel! Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications.
13 Mes lèvres énumèrent Tous les jugements que ta bouche a prononcés.
With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 Je trouve autant de joie à suivre tes enseignements, Qu'à posséder tous les trésors du monde.
I have been delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches.
15 Je méditerai tes commandements, Et je fixerai mes regards sur tes sentiers.
I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways.
16 Je ferai mes délices de tes préceptes, Et je n'oublierai point tes paroles.
I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words.
17 Accorde ce bienfait à ton serviteur: que je vive. Et que je garde ta parole!
GIMEL. Give bountifully to thy servant, enliven me: and I shall keep thy words.
18 Dessille mes yeux. Afin que je contemple les merveilles de ta loi.
Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law.
19 Je suis étranger sur la terre; Ne me cache pas tes commandements!
I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 Mon âme est consumée par l'amour Que lui inspirent tes lois, en tout temps.
My soul hath coveted to long for thy justifications, at all times.
21 Tu menaces les orgueilleux, Ces maudits qui s'écartent de tes commandements.
Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments.
22 Éloigne de moi l'opprobre et le mépris; Car j'obéis à tes enseignements.
Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies.
23 Les puissants eux-mêmes se sont assis, Et ils ont parlé contre moi; Mais ton serviteur médite tes préceptes.
For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications.
24 Oui, tes enseignements font mes délices: Ils sont mes meilleurs conseillers.
For thy testimonies are my (meditation) and thy justifications my counsel.
25 Mon âme est abattue dans la poussière; Fais-moi revivre, selon ta parole!
DALETH. My soul hath cleaved to the pavement: quicken thou me according to thy word.
26 Je t'ai fait connaître ma conduite, et tu m'as approuvé; Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me: teach me thy justifications.
27 Montre-moi la voie que tu m'ordonnes de suivre. Et je méditerai tes merveilles.
Make me to understand the way of thy justifications: and I shall be exercised in thy wondrous works.
28 Mon âme attristée se fond en larmes; Relève-moi, selon ta parole!
My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words.
29 Éloigne-moi de la voie du mensonge; Accorde-moi comme une grâce la connaissance de ta loi!
Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me.
30 J'ai choisi la voie de la fidélité; J'ai mis tes jugements devant mes yeux.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten.
31 Je me suis attaché à tes enseignements: Éternel, ne me rends pas confus!
I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame.
32 Je m'élancerai dans la voie de tes commandements, Quand tu auras mis mon coeur au large.
I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart.
33 Éternel, apprends-moi à suivre tes préceptes, Et je les observerai jusqu'à la fin.
HE. Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it.
34 Donne-moi l'intelligence, et j'observerai ta loi: Je la pratiquerai de tout mon coeur.
Give me understanding, and I will search thy law; and I will keep it with my whole heart.
35 Conduis-moi dans les sentiers de tes commandements; Car mon bonheur est de les suivre.
Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired.
36 Incline mon coeur vers tes enseignements. Et non pas vers le gain.
Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness.
37 Détourne mes yeux de la contemplation des choses vaines; Que je trouve la vie en marchant dans tes voies.
Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way.
38 Accomplis envers ton serviteur ta promesse: Tu l’as donnée pour qu’on te craigne.
Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear.
39 Détourne de moi l'opprobre que je redoute; Car tes jugements sont pleins de bonté.
Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful.
40 J'ai un ardent amour pour tes commandements! Fais-moi revivre par ta justice!
Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice.
41 Éternel, que tes bontés et ton salut Descendent sur moi, selon ta promesse!
VAU. Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word.
42 Alors je saurai comment répondre à celui qui m'outrage; Car je me confie en ta parole.
So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words.
43 Ne me refuse pas entièrement la faveur De rendre témoignage à la vérité; Car je mets mon attente en tes jugements.
And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words have I hoped exceedingly.
44 Alors j'observerai ta loi constamment. Sans l'abandonner jamais.
So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever.
45 Je marcherai d'un pas libre; Car j'ai à coeur de suivre tes commandements.
And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments.
46 Je proclamerai tes volontés devant les rois. Et je n'en aurai aucune honte.
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed.
47 Je ferai mes délices de tes commandements: Ils sont l'objet de mon amour.
I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved.
48 J'élèverai mes mains vers tes commandements que j'aime. Et je méditerai tes préceptes.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications.
49 Souviens-toi de la parole donnée à ton serviteur C'est sur elle que tu as fondé mon espérance.
ZAIN. Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope.
50 Ce qui me console dans mon affliction, C'est que ta parole me rend la vie.
This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me.
51 Des orgueilleux me couvrent de railleries; Mais je ne m'écarte pas de ta loi.
The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law.
52 Je me rappelle tes jugements d'autrefois, ô Éternel, Et j'y trouve ma consolation.
I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted.
53 L'indignation me saisit, à cause des méchants Qui abandonnent ta loi.
A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law.
54 Tes préceptes sont le sujet de mes cantiques, Dans la maison où j'habite en étranger.
Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage.
55 La nuit, je me rappelle ton nom, ô Éternel, Et j'observe ta loi.
In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law.
56 Le bien qui m'est échu en partage. C'est de garder tes commandements.
This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications.
57 Tu es ma part, ô Éternel. C'est pourquoi j'ai promis de garder tes paroles.
HETH. O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep the law.
58 Je t'ai imploré de tout mon coeur: Aie pitié de moi, selon ta promesse!
I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word.
59 J'ai fait l'examen de ma conduite, Et j'ai dirigé mes pas dans la voie de tes enseignements.
I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.
60 Je me hâte, je ne diffère point D'observer tes commandements.
I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments.
61 Les pièges des méchants m'ont environné; Je n'ai point oublié ta loi.
The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
62 Au milieu de la nuit, je me lève pour te célébrer, A cause de tes justes jugements.
I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification.
63 Je suis le compagnon de tous ceux qui te craignent Et qui observent tes commandements.
I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments.
64 Éternel, la terre est pleine de ta bonté! Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications.
65 Tu as fait du bien à ton serviteur, Éternel, selon ta parole.
TETH. Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word.
66 Donne-moi un sens droit, ainsi que la vraie sagesse; Car j'ai foi en tes commandements.
Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments.
67 Avant d'être affligé, je m'égarais; Mais, maintenant, j'observe ta parole.
Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word.
68 Tu es bon, et tu manifestes ta bonté: Enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications.
69 Des orgueilleux ont ourdi contre moi des mensonges; Mais moi, j'obéis de tout mon coeur à tes ordres.
The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart.
70 Leur coeur est épaissi comme de la graisse; Moi, je trouve mes délices dans ta loi.
Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law.
71 Il m'est bon d'avoir été affligé: C'est ainsi que j'ai appris à connaître ta volonté.
It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications.
72 Les enseignements de ta bouche sont plus précieux pour moi Que des milliers de pièces d'or et d'argent.
The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver.
73 Toi dont les mains m'ont formé et créé, Donne-moi l'intelligence, afin que je puisse apprendre tes lois.
JOD. Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments.
74 Ceux qui te craignent me verront, et ils se réjouiront; Car j'espère en ta parole.
They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad: because I have greatly hoped in thy words.
75 Je sais, ô Éternel, que tes jugements ne sont que justice: C'est dans ta fidélité que tu m'as affligé.
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me.
76 Que ta bonté soit donc ma consolation. Comme tu l'as promis à ton serviteur.
O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.
77 Que tes compassions s'étendent sur moi, et je vivrai; Car ta loi fait mes délices.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my (meditation)
78 Que les orgueilleux soient confus. Eux qui m'oppriment sans motif; Et moi, je méditerai tes commandements.
Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments.
79 Qu'ils reviennent à moi, ceux qui te craignent Et qui connaissent tes enseignements!
Let them that fear thee turn to me and they that know thy testimonies.
80 Que mon coeur soit sincèrement attaché à tes préceptes, Afin que je n'aie pas à rougir de honte!
Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded.
81 Mon âme languit après son salut; J'espère en ta parole.
CAPH. My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped.
82 Mes yeux se consument dans l'attente de ta promesse; Je dis: «Quand me consoleras-tu?»
My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me?
83 Je suis comme une outre dans un nuage de fumée; Mais je n'oublie pas tes préceptes.
For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications.
84 Combien courte est la vie de ton serviteur! Quand donc feras-tu justice de ceux qui me persécutent?
How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
85 Les orgueilleux ont creusé des pièges sous mes pas; Car jamais ils n'agissent selon ta loi.
The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law.
86 Tous tes commandements témoignent de ta fidélité. Mes ennemis me persécutent sans motif; aide-moi!
All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me.
87 Encore un peu, et ils me faisaient disparaître de la terre! Mais je n'abandonne pas tes commandements.
They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments.
88 Fais-moi revivre, toi qui es plein de bonté. Et j'obéirai aux enseignements de ta bouche.
Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth.
89 Éternel, ta parole subsiste à jamais dans les cieux;
LAMED. For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven.
90 Ta fidélité dure d'âge en âge! Tu as fondé la terre, et elle demeure ferme.
Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth.
91 Tout subsiste aujourd'hui selon tes lois; Car toutes choses te servent.
By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee.
92 Si ta loi n'eût fait mes délices. J'aurais déjà péri dans ma misère.
Unless thy law had been my (meditation) I had then perhaps perished in my abjection.
93 Jamais je n'oublierai tes commandements; Car c'est par eux que tu m'as fait revivre.
Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life.
94 Je suis à toi, sauve-moi; Car je m'applique à suivre tes commandements.
I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications.
95 Les méchants m'ont épié pour me faire périr; Mais je suis attentif à tes enseignements.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies.
96 J'ai vu des bornes à tout ce qui est parfait; Mais ta loi est d'une étendue sans fin.
I have seen an end to all persecution: thy commandment is exceeding broad.
97 Combien j'aime ta loi! Tout le jour, je m'applique à la méditer.
MEM. O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day.
98 Tes commandements me rendent plus sage Que mes ennemis, Parce qu'ils sont toujours présents à mon esprit.
Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me.
99 J'ai surpassé en sagesse tous ceux qui m'avaient instruit; Car tes enseignements sont l'objet de mes méditations.
I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my (meditation)
100 Je suis plus intelligent que les vieillards eux-mêmes; Car j'ai gardé tes commandements.
I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments.
101 J'ai détourné mes pas de tout mauvais chemin, Afin d'observer ta parole.
I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words.
102 Je ne m'écarte point de tes lois, Parce que c'est toi qui m'as instruit.
I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law.
103 Combien tes paroles sont douces à mon palais, Plus douces que le miel à ma bouche!
How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth.
104 Tes commandements m'instruisent; C'est pourquoi je hais tous les sentiers trompeurs.
By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity.
105 Ta parole est un flambeau qui guide mes pas, Une lumière sur mon sentier.
NUN. Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths.
106 J'ai juré — et je tiendrai ma promesse. — D'observer tes justes lois.
I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice.
107 Je suis extrêmement affligé: Éternel, fais-moi revivre, selon ta parole!
I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word.
108 Agrée les chants de louange Que t'offre ma bouche, ô Eternel, Et enseigne-moi tes commandements!
The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments.
109 Ma vie est continuellement en danger; Mais je n'oublie point ta loi.
My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law.
110 Les méchants m'ont tendu des pièges; Mais je ne me suis pas écarté de tes commandements.
Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts.
111 Tes enseignements sont pour toujours mon héritage; Ils sont la joie de mon coeur.
I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are a joy to my heart.
112 J'ai rendu mon coeur docile à l'observation de tes préceptes, Pour toujours, jusqu'à la fin.
I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward.
113 Je hais les hommes au coeur double; Mais j'aime ta loi.
SAMECH. I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law.
114 Tu es mon refuge et mon bouclier; J'espère en ta parole.
Thou art my helper and my protector: and in thy word I have greatly hoped.
115 Retirez-vous de moi, méchants! Je veux garder les commandements de mon Dieu.
Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God.
116 Soutiens-moi, selon ta promesse, Afin que je vive, Et ne me fais pas rougir d'avoir mis en toi mon espérance!
Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation.
117 Soutiens-moi: je serai sauvé. Et j'aurai toujours les yeux sur tes préceptes!
Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications.
118 Tu traites avec mépris tous ceux qui s'écartent de tes lois; Car toutes leurs machinations sont frappées d'impuissance.
Thou hast despised all them that fall off from thy judgments; for their thought is unjust.
119 Tu rejettes, comme de l'écume. Tous les méchants de la terre. C'est pourquoi j'aime tes enseignements.
I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies.
120 Ma chair tremble de frayeur en ta présence. Et je crains tes jugements.
Pierce thou my flesh with thy fear: for I am afraid of thy judgments.
121 J'ai pratiqué ce qui est droit et juste; Ne m'abandonne pas à mes oppresseurs!
AIN. I have done judgment and justice: give me not up to them that slander me.
122 Prends sous ta garde le bonheur de ton serviteur; Que les orgueilleux ne m'oppriment pas!
Uphold thy servant unto good: let not the proud calumniate me.
123 Mes yeux se consument dans l'attente de ton salut Et de tes promesses, ô Dieu juste.
My eyes have fainted after thy salvation: and for the word of thy justice.
124 Agis envers ton serviteur selon ta bonté, Et enseigne-moi tes préceptes.
Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy: and teach me thy justifications.
125 Je suis ton serviteur; donne-moi l'intelligence, Afin que je puisse comprendre tes enseignements.
I am thy servant: give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies.
126 Le temps est venu d'agir en ta faveur, ô Éternel; Car on viole ta loi.
It is time, O Lord, to do: they have dissipated thy law.
127 C'est pourquoi j'aime tes commandements Plus que l'or, même que l'or fin.
Therefore have I loved thy commandments above gold and the topaz.
128 Ainsi je proclame que tous tes commandements sont droits, Et je hais tout sentier trompeur.
Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways.
129 Tes enseignements sont admirables; Aussi mon âme les met-elle en pratique.
PHE. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them.
130 Tes paroles sont une révélation qui éclaire; Elles donnent de l'intelligence aux simples.
The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones.
131 J'ouvre la bouche et je soupire; Car j'ai un grand amour pour tes commandements.
I opened my mouth and panted: because I longed for thy commandments.
132 Regarde-moi et prends pitié de moi, Comme tu le fais pour ceux qui aiment ton nom.
Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of them that love thy name.
133 Que ta parole affermisse mes pas. Et ne permets point que le péché domine sur moi.
Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Délivre-moi de l'oppression des hommes. Afin que j'observe tes commandements!
Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments.
135 Fais resplendir ta face sur ton serviteur, Et enseigne-moi tes préceptes!
Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications.
136 Des ruisseaux de larmes coulent de mes yeux. Parce que personne n'observe ta loi.
My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law.
137 Tu es juste, ô Éternel, Et tes jugements sont droits.
SADE. Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right.
138 Tu prescris avec force, dans tes enseignements, La justice et la fidélité.
Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly.
139 Mon zèle me consume, Parce que mes ennemis ont oublié tes paroles.
My zeal hath made me pine away: because my enemies forgot thy words.
140 Ta parole est parfaitement pure; Aussi est-elle chère à ton serviteur.
Thy word is exceedingly refined: and thy servant hath loved it.
141 Je suis petit et méprisé; Mais je n'oublie pas tes commandements.
I am very young and despised; but I forgot not thy justifications.
142 Ta justice est une justice éternelle, Et ta loi n'est que vérité.
Thy justice is justice for ever: and thy law is the truth.
143 La détresse et l'angoisse m'ont atteint; Mais tes commandements font mes délices.
Trouble and anguish have found me: thy commandments are my (meditation)
144 Tes enseignements sont éternellement justes; Donne-m'en l'intelligence, afin que je vive!
Thy testimonies are justice for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live.
145 Je t'invoque de tout mon coeur; réponds-moi, ô Éternel, Et je garderai tes préceptes.
COPH. I cried with my whole heart, hear me, O Lord: I will seek thy justifications.
146 Je crie vers toi; sauve-moi, Et je suivrai tes enseignements.
I cried unto thee, save me: that I may keep thy commandments.
147 Je devance l'aurore, et je t'invoque: Je mets mon espoir en ta parole.
I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: because in thy words I very much hoped.
148 Mes yeux devancent les veilles de la nuit, Pour méditer ta promesse.
My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: that I might meditate on thy words.
149 Dans ta bonté, ô Éternel, écoute ma voix; Dans ta justice, fais-moi revivre!
Hear thou my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy: and quicken me according to thy mercy.
150 Les voilà près de moi, ceux qui se précipitent dans le crime Et qui se détournent de ta loi.
They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from the law.
151 Mais toi aussi, ô Éternel, tu t'approches de moi. Et tous tes commandements m'assurent de ta fidélité.
Thou art near, O Lord: and all thy ways are truth.
152 Depuis longtemps j'ai appris à connaître tes enseignements; Car tu les as établis pour toujours.
I have known from the beginning concerning thy testimonies: that thou hast founded them for ever.
153 Regarde mon affliction, et délivre-moi; Car je n'ai pas oublié ta loi.
RES. See my humiliation and deliver me: for I have not forgotten the law.
154 Défends ma cause, et délivre-moi; Fais-moi revivre, selon ta promesse!
Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word’s sake.
155 Le salut est loin des méchants. Parce qu'ils ne se soucient pas de tes préceptes.
Salvation is far from sinners; because they have not sought thy justifications.
156 Tes compassions sont en grand nombre, ô Éternel: Fais-moi revivre, suivant les arrêts de ta justice!
Many, O Lord, are thy mercies: quicken me according to thy judgment.
157 Mes persécuteurs et mes adversaires sont nombreux; Mais je ne me détourne pas de tes enseignements.
Many are they that persecute me, and afflict me; but I have not declined from thy testimonies.
158 J'ai vu les infidèles, et j'en ai horreur: Ils n'observent pas ta parole.
I beheld the transgressors, and I pined away; because they kept not thy word.
159 Vois combien j'aime tes commandements; Éternel, fais-moi revivre, dans ta bonté!
Behold I have loved thy commandments, O Lord; quicken me thou in thy mercy.
160 Ta parole tout entière n'est que vérité, Et tous les arrêts de ta justice sont éternels.
The beginning of thy words is truth: all the judgments of thy justice are for ever.
161 Les grands m'ont persécuté sans motif; Mais mon coeur n'a craint que tes paroles.
SIN. Princes have persecuted me without cause: and my heart hath been in awe of thy words.
162 Je me réjouis de ta promesse. Comme celui qui a trouvé un grand trésor.
I will rejoice at thy words, as one that hath found great spoil.
163 Je hais, j'ai en horreur le mensonge. Et j'aime ta loi.
I have hated and abhorred iniquity; but I have loved thy law.
164 Je te loue sept fois le jour. Pour les arrêts de ta justice.
Seven times a day I have given praise to thee, for the judgments of thy justice.
165 Grande est la paix de ceux qui aiment ta loi: Rien ne peut les faire chanceler.
Much peace have they that love thy law, and to them there is no stumbling block.
166 Éternel, j'attends ta délivrance, Et je pratique tes commandements.
I looked to thy salvation, O Lord: and I loved thy commandments.
167 Mon âme obéit à tes enseignements, Et je les aime d'un grand amour.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies: and hath loved them exceedingly.
168 J'observe tes commandements et tes lois; Car toute ma conduite est présente à tes yeux.
I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies: because all my ways are in thy sight.
169 Éternel, que mon cri parvienne jusqu'à toi! Donne-moi l'intelligence, conformément à ta parole!
TAU. Let my supplication, O Lord, come near in thy sight: give me understanding according to thy word.
170 Que ma supplication s'élève jusqu'à toi! Délivre-moi, suivant ta promesse!
Let my request come in before thee; deliver thou me according to thy word.
171 Mes lèvres proclameront ta louange, Quand tu m'auras enseigné tes préceptes.
My lips shall utter a hymn, when thou shalt teach me thy justifications.
172 Ma langue célébrera ta parole; Car tous tes commandements sont justes.
My tongue shall pronounce thy word: because all thy commandments are justice.
173 Étends ta main pour me venir en aide; Car je veux obéir à tes commandements.
Let thy hand be with me to save me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
174 Je soupire après ton salut, ô Éternel, Et ta loi fait mes délices.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my (meditation)
175 Que mon âme vive, afin qu'elle te loue, Et que tes jugements soient mon appui!
My soul shall live and shall praise thee: and thy judgments shall help me.
176 Je suis errant comme une brebis perdue: Viens à la recherche de ton serviteur! Car je n'ai pas oublié tes commandements!
I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost: seek thy servant, because I have not forgotten thy commandments.
