2 Corinthiens 6

1 Nous sommes ses collaborateurs; aussi vous exhortons-nous à ne pas recevoir inutilement cette grâce de Dieu;

And working together also we call upon [you] that ye receive not in vain the grace of God —

2 (car il dit: «Au temps favorable, je t'ai exaucé, Au jour du salut, je t'ai secouru»; eh bien, le voici ce temps particulièrement «favorable», le voici ce «jour du salut.»)

for He saith, 'In an acceptable time I did hear thee, and in a day of salvation I did help thee, lo, now [is] a well-accepted time; lo, now, a day of salvation,' —

3 Nous tâchons de ne jamais scandaliser personne et de ne donner aucune prise à la critique dans notre ministère;

in nothing giving any cause of offence, that the ministration may be not blamed,

4 au contraire nous nous faisons respecter comme ministres de Dieu par une grande patience dans les afflictions, dans les détresses, dans les angoisses,

but in everything recommending ourselves as God's ministrants; in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,

5 sous les coups, dans les cachots, dans les émeutes, dans les fatigues, dans les veilles, dans les jeûnes;

in stripes, in imprisonments, in insurrections, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

6 par la pureté, la science, la bienveillance, la douceur, un esprit saint, un amour sincère,

in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned,

7 une prédication véridique, une puissance de Dieu! nous servant des armes offensives et défensives de la justice;

in the word of truth, in the power of God, through the armour of the righteousness, on the right and on the left,

8 tantôt honorés, tantôt vilipendés; tantôt diffamés, tantôt considérés; tenus pour imposteurs bien que véridiques;

through glory and dishonour, through evil report and good report, as leading astray, and true;

9 pour obscurs quoique bien connus; pour mourants et voilà que nous vivons; pour gens que Dieu châtie et pourtant nous ne mourons pas;

as unknown, and recognized; as dying, and lo, we live; as chastened, and not put to death;

10 pour tristes, nous qui sommes toujours dans la joie; pour pauvres, nous qui enrichissons les autres; pour dénués de tout, nous qui possédons tout!

as sorrowful, and always rejoicing; as poor, and making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.

11 Notre bouche s'est ouverte pour vous, Corinthiens, notre coeur s'est élargi;

Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged!

12 vous tenez une grande place dans ce coeur, et vous ne nous en faites aucune dans le vôtre!

ye are not straitened in us, and ye are straitened in your [own] bowels,

13 Ah! rendez-nous la pareille (je vous parle comme à mes enfants), faites-nous une large place!

and [as] a recompense of the same kind, (as to children I say [it], ) be ye enlarged — also ye!

14 (Ne marchez pas de concert avec les incrédules; la justice peut-elle s'accorder avec l'iniquité? la lumière s'entendre avec les ténèbres?

Become not yoked with others — unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?

15 le Christ peut-il s'unir à Bélial? le croyant partager avec l'incrédule?

and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?

16 un temple de Dieu peut-il frayer avec des idoles? car nous sommes, nous, un temple du Dieu vivant, selon cette parole de Dieu: «J'habiterai au milieu d'eux, et j'y marcherai, je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple.»

and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said — 'I will dwell in them, and will walk among [them], and I will be their God, and they shall be My people,

17 C'est pourquoi «Sortez du milieu d'eux et séparez-vous, dit le Seigneur; Ne touchez pas à ce qui est impur Et moi je vous recevrai.

wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I — I will receive you,

18 Je serai donc pour vous un Père Et vous serez pour moi des fils et des filles, Dit le Seigneur tout-puissant.»

and I will be to you for a Father, and ye — ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.'
