Psaumes 27
1 De David. L'Éternel est ma lumière et mon salut; de qui aurais-je peur? L'Éternel est le rempart de ma vie; devant qui tremblerais-je?
[A Psalm] of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 Quand des méchants contre moi s'avancent acharnés, mes ennemis et mes adversaires, ils trébuchent et tombent.
When evil-doers came upon me to eat up my flesh, [even] mine adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell.
3 Qu'une armée vienne camper contre moi, mon cœur est sans alarmes; qu'une guerre s'élève contre moi, alors même je suis plein d'assurance.
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, even then will I be confident.
4 Il est une chose que je demande à l'Éternel, et que je voudrais obtenir, c'est d'habiter la maison de l'Éternel toute ma vie, pour contempler la majesté de l'Éternel, et jouir de la vue de ses parvis.
One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
5 Car Il me cache dans sa loge au mauvais jour, et Il me donne asile sous l'abri de sa tente, et Il m'élève jusques sur un rocher.
For in the day of trouble he shall keep me secretly in his pavilion: in the covert of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall lift me up upon a rock.
6 Aussi désormais ma tête dominera les ennemis qui me cernent, et j'offrirai des victimes dans son tabernacle, au son de la trompette, et je louerai, et je chanterai l'Éternel.
And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; and I will offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
7 Éternel, entends ma voix, je t'invoque! Sois-moi propice et m'exauce!
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 Mon cœur te rappelle ta parole: « Cherchez ma face! » Aussi, Éternel, je cherche ta face.
[When thou saidst], Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
9 Ne me cache pas ta face! Dans la colère ne repousse pas ton serviteur! Tu es mon secours! Ne me laisse pas, ne m'abandonne pas, mon Dieu sauveur!
Hide not thy face from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 Car mon père et ma mère m'abandonneraient, que l'Éternel me recueillerait.
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me up.
11 Éternel, montre-moi ta voie, et conduis-moi dans le droit sentier, à cause de mes ennemis!
Teach me thy way, O LORD; and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Ne me livre pas à la merci de mes adversaires! car il s'élève contre moi des témoins menteurs, et des hommes qui respirent la violence.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 Ah! si je n'avais pas cru voir la bonté de l'Éternel sur la terre des vivants! …
[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Espère dans l'Éternel! Courage! que ton cœur soit ferme, et espère dans l'Éternel!
Wait on the LORD: be strong, and let thine heart take courage; yea, wait thou on the LORD.
