Ézéchiel 34

1 Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Fils de l'homme, prophétise contre les pasteurs d'Israël! prophétise et dis-leur, aux pasteurs: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Malheur aux pasteurs d'Israël, qui sont pasteurs d'eux-mêmes! Les pasteurs ne devraient-ils pas être pasteurs du troupeau?

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

3 Vous mangez la graisse et vous vous habillez de la laine, vous tuez ce qu'on a engraissé; mais vous ne paissez point les brebis;

All of you eat the fat, and all of you clothe you with the wool, all of you kill them that are fed: but all of you feed not the flock.

4 vous ne fortifiez point celles qui sont faibles, et ne guérissez point les malades, et ne mettez point de bandage aux blessées, et ne ramenez point celles qui s'égarent, et ne cherchez point celles qui se perdent, et vous exercez sur elles une domination violente et tyrannique.

The diseased have all of you not strengthened, neither have all of you healed that which was sick, neither have all of you bound up that which was broken, neither have all of you brought again that which was driven away, neither have all of you sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have all of you ruled them.

5 Et ainsi elles se sont dispersées faute de pasteur, et sont devenues la proie de toutes les bêtes des champs, et elles ont été dispersées.

And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became food to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

6 Mes brebis sont errantes sur toutes les montagnes et sur toutes les hautes collines, et mes brebis sont éparses sur tout le pays; et personne qui s'en occupe et personne qui les cherche.

My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

7 Aussi, pasteurs, écoutez la parole de l'Éternel!

Therefore, all of you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;

8 Par ma vie, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, parce que mes brebis sont devenues la proie, devenues la pâture de toutes les bêtes des champs, faute de pasteurs, et parce que mes pasteurs ne se sont point occupés de mes brebis, et n'ont été pasteurs que d'eux-mêmes, mais n'ont point été pasteurs de mes brebis;

As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became food to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

9 pour cela, pasteurs, écoutez la parole de l'Éternel!

Therefore, O all of you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;

10 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: J'en veux aux pasteurs, et je leur redemanderai mes brebis, et les ferai cesser de paître mes brebis, et ils ne seront plus pasteurs d'eux-mêmes, et je retirerai mes brebis de leur bouche, afin qu'elles ne soient plus leur pâture.

Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.

11 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je veux moi-même m'enquérir de mes brebis et m'occuper d'elles.

For thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.

12 Comme un pasteur s'occupe de son troupeau, quand il est au milieu de ses brebis éparses, ainsi je veux m'occuper de mon troupeau, et les retirer de tous les lieux où ils auront été dispersés au jour nébuleux et sombre,

As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

13 et les faire revenir du milieu des peuples, et les recueillir des pays divers et les ramener dans leur pays, et les paître sur les montagnes d'Israël, dans les vallées et dans tous les lieux habités du pays:

And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

14 je les ferai paître sur un bon pâturage, et leur pacage sera sur les hautes montagnes d'Israël; là elles reposeront dans un bon pacage, et auront de gras pâturages sur les montagnes d'Israël:

I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

15 je serai moi-même le pasteur de mes brebis, et moi-même je les parquerai, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel;

I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord GOD.

16 je veux chercher les brebis perdues, et ramener celles qui sont égarées, et mettre un bandage aux blessées, et fortifier les malades; mais les brebis grasses et vigoureuses, je veux les détruire, et les paître comme la justice le veut.

I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

17 Vous donc, mes brebis! ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, je serai juge entre brebis et brebis, entre béliers et boucs.

And as for you, O my flock, thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.

18 Est-ce trop peu pour vous, [brebis vigoureuses]? Vous broutez le meilleur pâturage, et ce qui reste de votre pâture, vous le foulez sous vos pieds; vous buvez une eau pure, et le reste vous le troublez avec vos pieds;

Seems it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but all of you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but all of you must foul the residue with your feet?

19 et mes brebis sont réduites à brouter ce que vos pieds ont foulé, et à boire ce que vos pieds ont troublé.

And as for my flock, they eat that which all of you have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which all of you have fouled with your feet.

20 Aussi, ainsi leur parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Voici, moi-même je serai juge entre la brebis grasse et la brebis maigre.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.

21 Parce que du flanc et de l'épaule vous heurtez, et que de vos cornes vous frappez toutes les brebis malades, jusqu'à ce que vous les ayez poussées dehors,

Because all of you have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till all of you have scattered them abroad;

22 je porterai secours à mes brebis, afin qu'elles ne soient plus une proie, et je serai juge entre brebis et brebis.

Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

23 Et j'établirai sur elles un seul pasteur qui les fera paître, mon serviteur David; c'est lui qui les fera paître et sera leur pasteur,

And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

24 et moi, l'Éternel, je serai leur Dieu, et mon serviteur David sera prince au milieu d'eux: c'est moi, l'Éternel, qui le dis.

And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

25 Et je leur donnerai une alliance de paix, et j'exterminerai les bêtes sauvages du pays, afin qu'en sécurité ils habitent dans le désert, et dorment dans les forêts;

And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.

26 et je répandrai ma bénédiction sur eux et sur les alentours de ma colline, et ferai descendre la pluie en son temps, et ce seront des pluies fertilisantes,

And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

27 et l'arbre des campagnes donnera son fruit et la terre donnera ses productions; et ils seront en sécurité dans leur pays, et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'aurai brisé les barres de leur joug, et les aurai tirés des mains de ceux qui les asservirent.

And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.

28 Et ils ne seront plus en proie aux nations, ni la pâture des bêtes de la terre, et ils auront la sécurité dans leurs demeures, et nul ne leur inspirera de la terreur;

And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

29 et j'établirai pour eux une plantation qui aura du renom, et ils ne seront plus enlevés par la famine dans le pays, et ne subiront plus l'opprobre des nations;

And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

30 et ils reconnaîtront que moi, l'Éternel, leur Dieu, je suis près d'eux, et que, eux, maison d'Israël, ils sont mon peuple, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord GOD.

31 Pour vous, mon troupeau, troupeau dont je suis le Pasteur, vous êtes des hommes, mais je suis votre Dieu, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

And all of you my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord GOD.
