2 Corinthiens 6

1 Mais, puisque nous sommes ses coopérateurs, nous vous exhortons aussi à ne pas recevoir inutilement la grâce de Dieu,

And working together also we call upon [you] that ye receive not in vain the grace of God —

2 (car il est dit: « Au temps favorable Je t'ai exaucé, et au jour du salut Je t'ai secouru; » voici, c'est maintenant le temps particulièrement favorable; voici, c'est maintenant le jour du salut),

for He saith, 'In an acceptable time I did hear thee, and in a day of salvation I did help thee, lo, now [is] a well-accepted time; lo, now, a day of salvation,' —

3 nous qui ne donnons prise sur aucun point, afin que le ministère ne soit pas critiqué,

in nothing giving any cause of offence, that the ministration may be not blamed,

4 mais qui nous rendons recommandables à tous égards, comme il convient à des serviteurs de Dieu, par beaucoup de patience au milieu des tribulations, au milieu des calamités, au milieu des détresses,

but in everything recommending ourselves as God's ministrants; in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,

5 au milieu des coups, au milieu des prisons, au milieu des troubles, au milieu des fatigues, au milieu des veilles, au milieu des jeûnes;

in stripes, in imprisonments, in insurrections, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

6 par la pureté, par la connaissance, par la longanimité, par la bienveillance, par un esprit saint, par une charité sincère,

in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned,

7 par la parole de la vérité, par la puissance de Dieu; employant les armes offensives et défensives de la justice,

in the word of truth, in the power of God, through the armour of the righteousness, on the right and on the left,

8 tirant parti de la gloire et de l'infamie, de la mauvaise et de la bonne renommée; tenus pour fourbes, quoiqu'étant véridiques;

through glory and dishonour, through evil report and good report, as leading astray, and true;

9 tenus pour inconnus, quoiqu'étant bien connus; tenus pour mourants, et voici, nous vivons; tenus pour châtiés, quoique n'étant point mis à mort;

as unknown, and recognized; as dying, and lo, we live; as chastened, and not put to death;

10 tenus pour désolés, mais étant toujours joyeux; tenus pour pauvres, mais rendant riches bien des hommes; tenus, pour ne rien avoir, quoique possédant toutes choses.

as sorrowful, and always rejoicing; as poor, and making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.

11 Notre bouche s'est ouverte pour vous, Corinthiens, notre cœur s'est élargi;

Our mouth hath been open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart hath been enlarged!

12 vous n'êtes point à l'étroit au dedans de nous, tandis que vous êtes à l'étroit dans vos propres entrailles;

ye are not straitened in us, and ye are straitened in your [own] bowels,

13 mais rendez-nous la pareille (je vous parle comme à mes enfants) en vous élargissant aussi.

and [as] a recompense of the same kind, (as to children I say [it], ) be ye enlarged — also ye!

14 Ne portez pas, en vous unissant aux infidèles, un joug étranger; car quel rapport y a-t-il entre la justice et l'impiété, ou quelle communauté entre la lumière et les ténèbres?

Become not yoked with others — unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?

15 Mais encore quelle harmonie y a-t-il entre Christ et Béliar, ou quelle relation entre un fidèle et un infidèle?

and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?

16 Mais enfin quel accord y a-t-il entre le sanctuaire de Dieu et les idoles? Car c'est nous qui sommes le sanctuaire du Dieu vivant, selon que Dieu a dit: « J'habiterai et Je marcherai parmi eux, et Je serai leur Dieu, et eux seront Mon peuple;

and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said — 'I will dwell in them, and will walk among [them], and I will be their God, and they shall be My people,

17 c'est pourquoi sortez du milieu d'eux et tenez-vous à part, dit le Seigneur, et ne touchez pas à ce qui est impur, et c'est Moi qui vous accueillerai,

wherefore, come ye forth out of the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and an unclean thing do not touch, and I — I will receive you,

18 et Je serai pour vous un père, et vous, vous serez pour Moi des fils et des filles, dit le Seigneur tout-puissant. »

and I will be to you for a Father, and ye — ye shall be to Me for sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.'
