Ézéchiel 21

1 Et la parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.

2 Fils de l’homme, tourne ta face vers Jérusalem, Et parle contre les lieux saints! Prophétise contre le pays d’Israël!

O son of humankind set face your against Jerusalem and prophesy against sanctuaries and prophesy against [the] land of Israel.

3 Tu diras au pays d’Israël: Ainsi parle l’Éternel: Voici, j’en veux à toi, Je tirerai mon épée de son fourreau, Et j’exterminerai du milieu de toi le juste et le méchant.

And you will say to [the] land of Israel thus he says Yahweh here I [am] against you and I will bring out sword my from sheath its and I will cut off from you [the] righteous and [the] wicked.

4 Parce que je veux exterminer du milieu de toi le juste et le méchant, Mon épée sortira de son fourreau, Pour frapper toute chair, Du midi au septentrion.

Because that I have cut off from you [the] righteous and [the] wicked therefore it will go forth sword my from sheath its against all flesh from [the] south [the] north.

5 Et toute chair saura Que moi, l’Éternel, j’ai tiré mon épée de son fourreau. Elle n’y rentrera plus.

And they will know all flesh that I Yahweh I have brought out sword my from sheath its not it will go back again.

6 Et toi, fils de l’homme, gémis! Les reins brisés et l’amertume dans l’âme, Gémis sous leurs regards!

And you O son of humankind groan with breaking of loins and with bitterness you will groan to eyes their.

7 Et s’ils te disent: Pourquoi gémis-tu? Tu répondras: Parce qu’il arrive une nouvelle… Tous les cœurs s’alarmeront, Toutes les mains deviendront faibles, Tous les esprits seront abattus, Tous les genoux se fondront en eau… Voici, elle arrive, elle est là! Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

And it will be that they will say to you concerning what? [are] you groaning and you will say because of a report that [it is] coming and it will melt every heart and they will hang limp every pair of hands and it will grow faint every spirit and all knees they will go water there! [it is] coming and it will happen [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh.

8 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.

9 Fils de l’homme, prophétise, et dis: Ainsi parle l’Éternel. Dis: L’épée! L’épée! Elle est aiguisée, elle est polie.

O son of humankind prophesy and you will say thus he says [the] Lord say a sword a sword it has been sharpened and also [is] polished.

10 C’est pour massacrer qu’elle est aiguisée, C’est pour étinceler qu’elle est polie… Nous réjouirons-nous? Le sceptre de mon fils méprise tout bois…

So as to slaughter a slaughter it has been sharpened so as be for it lightning it has been polished or we will rejoice [the] scepter of son my [is] rejecting every tree.

11 On l’a donnée à polir, Pour que la main la saisisse; Elle est aiguisée, l’épée, elle est polie, Pour armer la main de celui qui massacre.

And someone gave it to polish [it] to grasp [it] in the palm it it has been sharpened a sword and it it has been polished to put it in [the] hand of [one who] slays.

12 Crie et gémis, fils de l’homme! Car elle est tirée contre mon peuple, Contre tous les princes d’Israël; Ils sont livrés à l’épée avec mon peuple. Frappe donc sur ta cuisse!

Cry out and wail O son of humankind for it it has come on people my it [is] on all [the] princes of Israel thrown to [the] sword they have been with people my therefore slap a thigh.

13 Oui, l’épreuve sera faite; Et que sera-ce, si ce sceptre qui méprise tout est anéanti? Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.

For it has been tested and what? if also a scepter rejecting not it will be [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh.

14 Et toi, fils de l’homme, prophétise, Et frappe des mains! Et que les coups de l’épée soient doublés, soient triplés! C’est l’épée du carnage, l’épée du grand carnage, L’épée qui doit les poursuivre.

And you O son of humankind prophesy and strike palm to palm so it may be doubled a sword a third a sword of [those] slain it [is] a sword of [the] slain great which surrounds them.

15 Pour jeter l’effroi dans les cœurs, Pour multiplier les victimes, A toutes leurs portes je les menacerai de l’épée. Ah! elle est faite pour étinceler, Elle est aiguisée pour massacrer.

So as - to melt a heart and [may be] many the stumblings at all gates their I have set a slaughter of a sword alas! made for lightning wrapped for slaughtering.

16 Rassemble tes forces, tourne-toi à droite! Place-toi, tourne-toi à gauche! Dirige de tous côtés ton tranchant!

Be sharp go to [the] right cause to set go to [the] left where? [is] face your set.

17 Et moi aussi, je frapperai des mains, Et j’assouvirai ma fureur. C’est moi, l’Éternel, qui parle.

And also I I will strike palm my to palm my and I will give rest to rage my I Yahweh I have spoken.

18 La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

And it came [the] word of Yahweh to me saying.

19 Fils de l’homme, trace deux chemins pour servir de passage à l’épée du roi de Babylone; tous les deux doivent sortir du même pays; marque un signe, marque-le à l’entrée du chemin qui conduit à une ville.

And you O son of humankind make for yourself - two roads to come [the] sword of [the] king of Babylon from a land one they will go out both of them and a monument make at [the] beginning of [the] road of a city make [it].

20 Tu traceras l’un des chemins pour que l’épée arrive à Rabbath, ville des enfants d’Ammon, et l’autre pour qu’elle arrive en Juda, à Jérusalem, ville fortifiée.

A road you will make to come a sword Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon and Judah in Jerusalem fortified.

21 Car le roi de Babylone se tient au carrefour, à l’entrée des deux chemins, pour tirer des présages; il secoue les flèches, il interroge les théraphim, il examine le foie.

For he has stopped [the] king of Babylon to [the] mother of the road at [the] beginning of [the] two the roads to divine divination he has shaken the arrows he has enquired by the teraphim he has looked at the liver.

22 Le sort, qui est dans sa droite, désigne Jérusalem, où l’on devra dresser des béliers, commander le carnage, et pousser des cris de guerre; on dressera des béliers contre les portes, on élèvera des terrasses, on formera des retranchements.

In right [hand] his it was - the divination Jerusalem to set up battering-rams to open a mouth for shattering to raise a sound with a war cry to set up battering-rams on [the] gates to pour out a mound to build a siege-wall.

23 Ils ne voient là que de vaines divinations, eux qui ont fait des serments. Mais lui, il se souvient de leur iniquité, en sorte qu’ils seront pris.

And it will be to them (as divines *Qk) falsehood in eyes their oaths of oaths [belong] to them and it [will] bring to remembrance iniquity to be seized.

24 C’est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Parce que vous rappelez le souvenir de votre iniquité, en mettant à nu vos transgressions, en manifestant vos péchés dans toutes vos actions; parce que vous en rappelez le souvenir, vous serez saisis par sa main.

Therefore thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh because brought to remembrance you iniquity your because were uncovered transgressions your to be seen sins your in all practices your because have been remembered you by the hand you will be seized.

25 Et toi, profane, méchant, prince d’Israël, dont le jour arrive au temps où l’iniquité est à son terme!

And you O profane [one] wicked prince of Israel whom it has come day his at a time of punishment of [the] end.

26 Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: La tiare sera ôtée, le diadème sera enlevé. Les choses vont changer. Ce qui est abaissé sera élevé, et ce qui est élevé sera abaissé.

Thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh to remove the turban and to lift off the crown this not this the lowly exalt and the exalted to bring low.

27 J’en ferai une ruine, une ruine, une ruine. Mais cela n’aua lieu qu’à la venue de celui à qui appartient le jugement et à qui je le remettrai.

A ruin a ruin a ruin I will make it also this not it will be until comes [the one] whom [belongs] to him the judgment and I will give it.

28 Et toi, fils de l’homme, prophétise, et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel, sur les enfants d’Ammon et sur leur opprobre. Dis: L’épée, l’épée est tirée, elle est polie, pour massacrer, pour dévorer, pour étinceler!

And you O son of humankind prophesy and you will say thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh concerning [the] people of Ammon and concerning reproach their and you will say a sword a sword [is] drawn for slaughter [is] polished to contain on account of lightning.

29 Au milieu de tes visions vaines et de tes oracles menteurs, elle te fera tomber parmi les cadavres des méchants, dont le jour arrive au temps où l’iniquité est à son terme.

When see for you falsehood when divine for you falsehood to give you to [the] necks of [those] profaned of wicked [people] whom it has come day their at a time of punishment of [the] end.

30 Remets ton épée dans le fourreau. Je te jugerai dans le lieu où tu as été créé, dans le pays de ta naissance.

Put back into sheath its in [the] place where you were created in [the] land of origins your I will judge you.

31 Je répandrai sur toi ma colère, je soufflerai contre toi avec le feu de ma fureur, et je te livrerai entre les mains d’hommes qui dévorent, qui ne travaillent qu’à détruire.

And I will pour out on you indignation my with [the] fire of wrath my I will blow on you and I will give you in [the] hand of men brutish craftsmen of destruction.

32 Tu seras consumé par le feu; ton sang coulera au milieu du pays; on ne se souviendra plus de toi. Car moi, l’Éternel, j’ai parlé.

For the fire you will become fuel blood your it will be in [the] midst of the land not you will be remembered for I Yahweh I have spoken.
